‘As-salmu calaykum, to all momin and mominaat
Bismilla hir rahmanir raheem
“Am-mai yojibul muz-tar-rezaaa d’aaho wa yakashe Fus-sua.”
Instead that God is better who answers helpless people whenever they
call him, And he relieves them from their trouble.
Sura 27 ayaat 62
“Dua” means “to call” and “to invoke” and in the Islamic terminology, it means, “A humble
prayer by a modest person to a superior.”
Thinking of Allah‟s might and grandeur, feeling awe of Him and praying
humbly and secretly is essential for supplication.
“And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then surely I am very near;
I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he calls on Me, so they should
answer My call and believe in Me that they may walk in the right way”
(Sura Al-Baqara, verse 186)
When you address your supplication to Allah, you implicitly acknowledge His
ability to grant you a request and fulfil your desire. You also recognise that
He is your Lord and the Lord of everything on earth. When a human being
acknowledges that, Allah grants him his request.
A Muslim should not think that it is unnecessary for him to make dua since
Allah is aware of his thoughts and will grant his wishes if He wills. He should
always supplicate for assistance and should beg for His forgiveness.
“Sometimes you find the requests are not immediately granted. Do not be
disappointed. Fulfilment of desires rests upon the true intention of the
prayer. More often the fulfilment is delayed because your Lord wants to
bestow upon you suitable rewards. As we may never know we may ask
things which are harmful to us, so better to keep patient and believe in His
help.” { Holy Prophet P.)
We should be concerned about our fellow Muslim Brothers and sisters and
we should help them or pray for them during times of need and distress.
Dua in Arabic means “To call”, and “To invoke” and in the Islamic
terminology, it means a humble prayer by a modest person to a superior.
Since the purpose of the present book is to exhort dear readers to Dua
(supplication) and to become familiar with the creator and His Blessings, we
have to mention certain Hadiths. Sheikh Sadoogh has quoted the pure Imam
(A.S.) as saying:
1. “If someone hears that doing a certain deed is praiseworthy and he does
it, God will give him the same reward even if it is not so.”
Safwan too has quoted Imam Sadeq (A.S.) as saying:
2. “If someone hears that a certain deed is praiseworthy, and he does it, the
Providence will give him the same reward even if the Holy Prophet of Islam
(SAW) has not confirmed it”.
Sheikh Koleini has quoted Imam Sadeq (A.S.) as saying:
3. “If someone hears that doing a deed is praiseworthy and he does it, he
will have the reward even if that news is not authentic.”
Quoting Jaber Ibne Abdullah Ansari, the Sunnis too have quoted the Holy
Prophet of Islam (SAW) as saying:
Wa Ufawwizu Amree ilallaah inallaaha baseerun bil ibad (Ch. Al-
Ghafir, or Mumin (40), vs. 44)
Mashaallahu laa Quwwata illa billah” (Ch. Al-Kahf (18), vs. 39)
And wherefore did you not say when you entered your garden: It is as Allah has pleased, there is
no power save in Allah? If you consider me to be inferior to you in wealth and children
3. For Sorrows/sufferings
La ila ha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minazzalimeen(Ch. Al-Anbiya (21): vs. 87)
And Yunus, when he went away in wrath, so he thought that We would not straiten him, so he
called out among afflictions: There is no god but Thou, glory be to Thee; surely I am of those
who make themselves to suffer loss.4. Other issues/Needs
Those to whom the people said: Surely men have gathered against you, therefore fear them, but
this increased their faith, and they said: Allah is sufficient for us and most excellent is the
Protector. There are some preconditions for it to be accepted ,like a person is to be
married before he can pray & wish for a child.:-
a. Taqwa -Fear of Allah swt
b. Efforts & Perseverance.Efforts like that of Sarah between safa &
Marwah & Patience in not giving up &continuing upto 7 rounds
c. Conviction that it can work & not an attitude of what can one line
do
