Energy Infratech P. Ltd is a consultant with a difference. It aspires to serve clients in the energy 
sector  with  complete  solutions.  We  take  the  total  responsibility  for  project  execution.  At  the 
client's option, we also provide Operation and Maintenance (O&M) services. 
 
At  Energy  Infratech,  we  understand  the  complex  challenge  that  infrastructure  project 
developers face. We are equipped to take on the vast canvas of project development‐ where 
man, material and money converge to provide the finished landscape. 
 
We  understand  the  nature  and  importance  of  the  'man',  or  human  element  which  forms  the 
'soft' component of project management, and have developed solutions to meet the needs of 
developers. We surpass the conventional 'concept to commissioning' models and go beyond 
typical  engineering  consultancy,  in  at  least  two  critical  ways.  First,  we  come  in  much  before 
others do– at the stage of search– for evolving and identifying opportunity, and its evaluation. 
 
Second,  we  take  care  of  the  client’s  worries  completely  by  deploying  a  fully  equipped 
construction management team at site. This obviates the need for the client to create a large 
project management team at site. 
 
Our endeavor is to ‘own’ the client's problems, and deliver solutions that provide lasting value. 
We deliver these solutions through a pool of over 220 engineers and consultants with the best 
possible  expertise,  built  over  years  of  experience  in  deploying  'best‐in‐class'  engineering  and 
project management tools and techniques. Our team brings with it a rich blend of experience 
gained in leading organizations in India's power sector including NTPC, NHPC, CWC and L&T. We 
plan to scale up the team size to over 500 in the next one year. 
 
We  are  presently  delivering  services  to  a  portfolio  of  thermal  (both  coal  and  gas)  and  hydro 
power  plants,  being  developed  for  an  aggregate  capacity  of  nearly  6,400  MW.  We  aspire  to 
expand this portfolio by another 5,000 MW by the end of the year 2008. 
With  offices  in  Delhi,  Gurgaon,  Himachal  Pradesh,  Sikkim  and  Andhra  Pradesh,  We  are  fast

As  a  part  of  the  services  offered  to  our  esteemed  clients,  we  select  reputed  organizations  to 
participate  in  the  projects  as  EPC  Contractors,  or  agencies  to  execute  major  supply‐cum‐
erection  packages.  Competitive  bids  are  invited  through  tender  notices.  These  also  appear  in 
the related sections of our website from time to time. We are presently providing services to 
the following Projects: 
1. 1200 MW Teesta III Hydro Electric Project (HEP): Client : Teesta Urja Limited 
 Located in North Sikkim Dist., on the Teesta River, the project is currently entering 
the construction phase. The project is a peak load plant, which will deploy 6 units of 
200 MW each. It is one of the largest hydro electric projects in India, and the client 
Teesta Urja Limited is a JV between Govt. of Sikkim and Athena Project Pvt. Ltd. The 
project is scheduled for commissioning by end of 2011.  
 
EIPL  is  responsible  for  complete  engineering  activity  including  pre‐construction 
investigations,  preparation  of  Detailed  Project  Report  (DPR),  detailed  engineering, 
tender  drawings  &  technical  specifications,  providing  technical  support  during, 
acquisition  of  all  statutory  clearances,  financial  closure  and  construction 
management. 
 
An  EIPL  team,  headed  by  Executive  Director,  will  be  posted  at  site.  The  Executive 
Director reports operationally to President (Hydro). 
 
2. 100  MW  Malana  II  Hydro  Electric  Project  (HEP):    Client:  Everest  Power  Private 
Limted 
Located  in  Kullu  Distt.,  in  the  state  of  Himachal  Pradesh  on  the  Malana  Nallah  (a 
tributary  of  the  Beas  river),  the  project  is  now  in  its  late  construction  phase. 
Designed as a peak‐load plant, the project will have 2 units of 50 MW each. Everest 
Power  Private  Limited  is  developing  the  project,  and  EIPL  is  providing  complete 
engineering  services  as  well  as  construction  supervision  at  site.  The  project  is 
expected to be commissioned by end of 2008 / early 2009.  
 
3. 16  MW  Patikari  Hydro  Electric  Project  (HEP):    Client  M/s  Patikari  Power  Pvt. 
Limited 
This  Small  Hydro  Project  (SHP)  is  located  in  Mandi  Distt.,  Himachal  Pradesh,  on 
Bakhli  Khad,  a  tributary  of  the  Beas  river.  This  is  a  run‐of‐the  river  project,  which 
 deploys 2 units of 8 MW each. The project is scheduled for commissioning towards 
end of December 2007 / January 2008.  
 
EIPL is providing design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the Electro 
Mechanical (E&M) equipment for the project. Through a second agreement, EIPL is 
also providing project management and monitoring services. 
 
4. 3000  MW  Demwe  Hydro  Electric  Project  (HEP):  Client  M/s  Athena  Demwe  Power 
Pvt. Limited 
Demwe is located in the most downstream section of cascade development of Lohit 
river basin in the State of Arunachal Pradesh. The project is to be developed in one 
or more stages for a total capacity of 3000 MW.  
 
EIPL  is  providing  “concept  to  commissioning”  composite  services  for  project 
development, engineering and management. The site surveys and investigations for 
the purpose of firming up the DPR have already commenced. The project is expected 
to enter the construction phase by late 2008 and commissioned by September 2013. 
 
5. 2640 MW Bhavanapadu Thermal Power Project: Client : East Coast Energy Limited  
The  project  is  being  developed  at  a  Coastal  location  in  the  Srikakulum  Distt.  of 
Andhra  Pradesh,  by  East  Coast  Energy  Private  Limited  in  two  stages.  The  Stage  –  I 
will  be  of  1200/1320  MW  size,  with  2  nos.  600/660  MW  coal  fired  units  being 
deployed.  Super/sub‐critical  cycle  parameters  will  be  adopted  for  the  generation 
cycle, so that power output is more efficient and pricing is market competitive.  
 
EIPL  is  providing  services  to  East  Coast  Energy  Private  Limited  on  a  ‘concept  to 
commissioning’  basis  through  an  agreement  for  composite  project  development, 
engineering and management services. The Stage‐ I  of the  project is scheduled for 
commissioning by September 30, 2010. The agreement has a provision for warranty 
 period,  extending  12  months  from  the  Commercial  Operations  Date  of  each  unit. 
EIPL’s  warranty  obligation  will  end  by  30  September  2011.  The  agreement  also 
provides  for  extending  O&M  services  after  commissioning,  at  the  option  of  the 
owner/client company. 
 
The project development activity has already made significant progress, with the site 
having  been  identified  and  land  allotment  being  underway.  Some  site  specific 
studies have been completed, while others like geo‐technical investigations and area 
drainage studies are expected to be completed by end of December 2007.  
 
Activity  related  to  financial  closure  of  Stage  I  has  been  initiated  and  will  be 
completed  by  March  2008.  Project  contracts  related  activity  has  also  started,  with 
EPC contract award process expected to be completed by end of March 2008.  
 
6. 2400 MW Cocanada Combined Cycle Power Project: Client – M/s Athena Kakinada 
Power Pvt. Ltd.  
The  project is  being  developed  at  a  Coastal  location  near  Cocanada,  East  Godavari 
District,  Andhra  Pradesh  by  Athena  Power  Private  Limited.  The  project  will  be 
developed in two stages, and the Stage –I will have a size of 1200 MW (+/‐10%).  
 
EIPL  is  providing  services  to  Athena  Power  Private  Limited  on  a  ‘concept  to 
commissioning’  basis  through  an  agreement  for  composite  project  development, 
engineering and management services. The Stage‐I of the project is scheduled to be 
commissioned  by  30th  September  2010.  EIPL’s  warranty  obligations  under  the 
agreement  will  end  by  30th  September  2011.  The  agreement  also  provides  for 
extending  O&M  services,  at  the  option  of  Owner/client  company  once  the  project 
has been commissioned.   
 
 The development phase of this project has already made significant progress, with 
land,  water  and  fuel  linkage  tie‐up  expected  to  be  completed  by  1  March  2008. 
Some site specific studies are already complete, and the remaining like geo‐technical 
investigations  and  area  drainage  studies  are  to  be  completed  by  end  of  October 
2007.  
 
Various  statutory  clearances,  including  Airports  Authority  Clearance,  Defence 
Clearance, Village Panchayat clearance and CRZ/ SADA clearance are in process and 
most are expected to be in place by end of December 2007. Complete clearances are 
expected to be in place by end of Feb 2008.  
 
Major  project  contracts  i.e.  –  EPC  contracts  and  Fuel  Supply  Agreement  are  to  be 
completed by March 2008.  
 
7. 1200  MW  Dumarpali  Thermal  Power  Project:  Client  –  M/s  Athena  Chhattisgarh 
Power Pvt. Ltd.    
This  is  a  pit‐head  location  project,  being  developed  by  Athena  Chhattisgarh  Power 
Private  Limited  in  Raigarh  District,  in  the  state  of  Chhattisgarh.  The  project  will  be 
developed in two stages, with the first stage being sized for 600/660 MW. 
 
EIPL  is  providing  services  to  Athena  Chhattisgarh  Power  on  a  “concept  to 
commissioning”  basis  under  an  agreement  for  composite  project  development, 
engineering and management services. The Stage I of the project is scheduled to be 
commissioned by 31st March 2011. EIPL’s warranty obligations under the agreement 
will  end  by  31st  March  2012.  The  agreement  also  provides  for  extending  O&M 
services,  at  the  option  of  Owner/  Client  Company  once  the  project  has  been 
commissioned. 
 
 The project has made significant progress in its development activity. One coal mine 
has  been  allotted  for  this  project  on  sharing  basis  with  other  project  developers, 
which  is  being  proposed  to  be  developed  jointly  along  with  other  allottees.  Site 
selection has been completed, and land allotment and water allotment are expected 
to be completed by June 2008.  
 
Some  site  specific  studies  have  been  initiated  and  all  studies  are  expected  to  be 
completed September 2008. Statutory clearances are in process and are expected to 
be completed by September 2008. The financial closure will be initiated by February 
2008 and expected to be completed by July 2008.

1. Mr. R. V. Shahi – Chairman 
Mr. Shahi held the position of Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry 
of  Power  for  nearly  five  years  from  April  2002  to  January  2007.  In  this 
position, he was responsible for policy initiatives and implementation for the 
entire Power Sector (1, 68,000 MW capacity) in India. During his tenure, the 
Indian Power Sector went through a major restructuring with the institution of the Electricity 
Act,  2003  and  subsequent  National  Electricity  Policy,  2005  and  National  Tariff  Policy,  2006. 
Other  major  initiatives  launched  include  the  Accelerated  Power  Development  &  Reform 
Programme  (2002),  Rural  Electrification  Policy  (2005),  Ultra  Mega  Power  Policy  (2006)  and 
Merchant Power Policy (2006).  
 
Mr. Shahi was also directly responsible for the long‐term planning and operational performance 
of  the  Central  Public  Sector  Undertakings  viz.  National  Thermal  Power  Corporation  (NTPC), 
Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, Satluj Jal Vidyut 
Nigam  Ltd,  Tehri  Hydro  Development  Corporation,  Power  Finance  Corporation,  Rural 
Electrification Corporation, Bhakra Beas Management Board and Damodar Valley Corporation. 
He was also President of the Governing Council of Central Power Research Institute, Chairman 
of  the  Executive  Committee  of  Bureau  of  Energy  Efficiency  and  Chairman  of  the  Governing 
Council of National Power Training Institute having 5 large Training Institutes in various parts of 
the country. 
 
Mr.  Shahi's  academic  qualifications  include  Graduation  (Mechanical  Engineering),  Post 
Graduation  (Industrial  Engineering),  Post  Graduation  (Business  Management)  and  Diploma  in 
Advanced  Industrial  Management  (Delft,  Holland).  He  is  a  Fellow  of  the  World  Academy  of 
Productivity Sciences. He is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India), a Fellow of International 
Institute of Electrical Engineers, and a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering. 
 
Prior to his appointment as Secretary, Mr. Shahi was Chairman and Managing Director of BSES 
Ltd  from  1994  to  2002.  Under  his  leadership,  the  company  transformed  from  a  small 
distribution utility to a multi‐ unit fully integrated power utility having interests in generation, 
transmission and distribution. Earlier, for over 16 years, he was with National Thermal Power 
Corporation (NTPC) holding various positions between 1978 and 1994. These included General 
Manager in charge of Dadri Power Project; Executive Director in charge of Southern Region of 
NTPC, and finally Member on the Board of Directors of NTPC in‐charge of Operations, R&D and 
Commercial  functions.  Prior  to  this,  Mr.  Shahi  worked  for  over  10  years  with  Hindustan  Steel 
Ltd / Steel Authority of India. 
 
He was Chairman or Member on Boards of various companies, as also in the Audit Committees 
of the Boards, during different periods (1991 ‐ 2002), including member on the Board and Audit 
Committee  of  Power  Grid  Corporation  of  India.  He  was  Chairman  of  World  Energy  Council‐ 
Indian  Member  Committee  (WEC‐IMC)  during  April,  2002  to  January,  2007.  Member  (2003  ‐ 
2006)  on  the  Policy  Group  of  Carbon  Sequestration  Leadership  Forum  (CSLF),  a  US  led  global 
initiative;  Member  (2005  ‐  2006)  on  the  Govt.  Steering  Committee  for  the  US  led  global 
initiative  on  Zero  Emission  Future  Generation  Project.  He  has  been  closely  associated  with 
industry bodies such as Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Federation of Indian Chamber 
of  Commerce  &  Industries  (FICCI),  Associated  Chamber  of  Commerce  and  Industry  of  India 
(ASSOCHAM) as Member or Chairman of various Committees. He was also a member on more 
than  sixteen  Committees  and  Organizations  covering  diverse  topics  related  to  Energy, 
Environment, Human Resource Development and Education. In 2006, he was made Chairman of 
the Government of India's Working Group on Power for Eleventh Five Year Plan (2007‐12). He is 
on  the  Boards  of  Governors  of  Indian  Institute  of  Management  (IIM)  Lucknow,  Management 
Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon, and Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar.  
 
Awards:  Recipient  of  Diamond  Jubilee  Award  of  CBIP  (1993),  India  International  Gold  Award‐ 
1994 of the NRI Institute and Udyog Ratan Award‐ 1994 of the Institute of Economic Studies,

survey of power professionals. 
 
Publications: Has contributed and presented many papers at various National and International 
Conferences.  He  has  authored  a  book  titled  "Indian  Power  Sector‐  Challenge  and  Response 
(2005)" and also edited a book titled "100 Years of Thermal Power in India (2000)". His latest 
book is “Towards Powering India‐ Policy Initiatives and Implementing Strategies” 
 
 
 
2. Dr. Devi Singh – Director 
Dr.  Devi  Singh  assumed  charge  as  Director,  Indian  Institute  of  Management, 
Lucknow  in  August,  2003.  Before  joining  IIM,  Lucknow,  he  was  Director  of 
Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon for about four years. He is 
a  well‐known  Professor  in  the  area  of  International  Finance  &  Management. 
During his tenure, MDI was one of the fastest growing Business Schools in India 
and had been consistently ranked among the top 5 B‐Schools in the country. 
Before joining MDI, Dr. Singh was a Visiting Full Professor at the Faculty of Management, McGill 
University,  Canada  for  five  years.  He  had  been  a  UNDP  Fellow  on  International  Management 
Education.  He  had  been  a  Visiting  Faculty  to  the  International  Centre  for  Public  Enterprises, 
Slovenia. He is an alumnus Fellow of the Institute of World Affairs, Connecticut. He has taught 
at leading Business Schools in India and Abroad. 
 
3. Mr. A.K. Purwar – Director 
Mr.  A.K.  Purwar  is  having  about  40  years  of  experience  in  Banking  Industry.  He 
has  done  Masters  Degree  in  Commerce  from  Allahabad  University.  During  his 
career,  Purwar  held  several  important  positions  covering  the  whole  gamut  of 
commercial  banking  operations.  In  his  previous  role,  A  K  Purwar  served  State 
Bank of India as chairman for over three years, the longest term for any head, as compared to 
the  terms  of  most  chiefs  since  the  mid‐90s  that  ranged  from  two  months  to  two‐and‐a‐half 
years. Prior to that, Purwar was the chairman of a fully owned subsidiary of SBI, State Bank of 
Patiala. 
 
 
4. Mr. V.V. Ramakrishna Rao – Director 
Mr. V.V. Ramakrishna Rao is former Chairman and Managing Director, Central 
Electricity Authority and Ex‐Officio Secretary to Government of India with over 
42  years  of  experience  in  Indian  Power  Sector. 
He  is  having  exposure  to  various  filed  of  activities  including  Technical, 
Operational, Economic, Legal, Administrative and Human Resources Development. He is having 
experience  in  Planning  for  Power  Development,  Integrated  operation  of  power  systems, 
Assessment  &  Monitoring  of  Power  Supply  Position  in  the  country,  Assessment  of  Hydro 
Resources, Coordinated Planning of hydro power schemes in the context of overall river basin 
development  and  computing  demand  on  water  resources  (and  irrigation,  flood  control  and 
navigation)  as  well  as  overall  generation  development  scenario,  Overall  Management,  Secure 
Operation & Control of Five Regional Grids in the Country through Regional Electricity Boards & 
Regional  Load  Dispatch  Centers,  Promoting  Integrated  Operation,  Intra‐  Regional exchange  of 
Power  and  Inter‐  Regional  exchange  of  Power,  Planning  and  development  of  Transmission  & 
Distribution  facilities  in  the  country,  Construction,  Monitoring,  Design  &  Engineering  of 
Transmission Systems consistent with National Power Plans. 
 
5. Mr. N. Rajasekhara Babu – Director 
One of the select band of persons to have more than two and a half decades 
of  exposure  and  in‐depth  experience  in  the  fields  of  Project  Management, 
Field  Operations,  Business  development  and  manpower  planning.  He  has 
proved his expertise in the field of chemical engineering by associating himself 
successfully  with  M/s.  RCF  limited  for  more  than  two  and  a  half  decades.  He  worked  in 
Corporate  Technical  Department  of  RCF  limited,  Mumbai,  where  he  was  elevated  from 
Management  Trainee  to  Chief  Engineer  level  during  a  span  of  26  years.  In  RCF,  he  was 
instrumental in developing new projects, carrying out complex market survey for new products, 
carrying  out  feasibility  studies  for  projects  including  financial  analysis,  preparation  of  all 
contractual  documents  and  was  closely  associated  with  the  Clean  Development  Mechanism 
process for the Chemical Plants in RCF Limited. 
In his brief stint of three years with Saudi Formaldehyde Chemical Co. from 1991 to 1993,  as 
Process  Engineer,  his  duties  comprised  of  operational  responsibility  of  the  plant  including 
process  control,  process  monitoring  and  operational  planning.  He  was  also  associated  with 
Formaldehyde Expansion Project for doubling the capacity of Plant. 
 
6.  Dr. C.R.Prasad 
 Dr. C.R. Prasad has 40+ yrs of experience in Indian Energy Sector. He has worked 
as  Chairman, British Gas India, Chairman, GAIL India, Regional Director, ONGC. 
He was selected as CEO for the year 1998‐99 by SCOPE, Best Energy man of the 
year  1999  and  Best  Project  Manager  of  the  year  1987.Successfully 
commissioned world’s longest 1250 km Jam Nagar‐Loni LPG pipeline
