Introduction
W hen God created Adam and Eve, they were in
harmony with Him in heart. His sympathy was theirs, they
loved to seek His companionship. But after sin came into
the world, there was an alienation created. They no longer
wanted to seek God, His sympathy was no longer theirs. In
fact in their sin-darkened minds, they were at war with
God. He had become the enemy.
But no change took place in God. He knew that they had
sinned, but He still came to seek them. Nothing had
occured to Him, He had eaten no forbidden fruit.
Yet, our thinking is that is the case, beecause of how we
would treat each other. We say surely God has changed
towards us. Therefore, we run and hide from Him. We do
not come to Him that we may have life.
But that is the only way to salvation, the change cannot
come until we come to God. On the following pages, we
look at the gospel according to Romans 12. God wants us to
be transformed by having renewed minds. Here in simple,
plain to understand language is the way for seperated man
to return to His maker, in life and character.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain
mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16.

Chapter 1: The Return To God

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a
living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. Romans12:1

God had created Adam and Eve with this truth born within them. They had
no qualms about giving God service:
"In the beginning, man was created in the image of God. He was in perfect
harmony with the nature and the law of God; the principles of righteousness were
written upon his heart."

But because of sin a change came:

"But sin alienated him from his Maker. He no longer reflected the divine image.
His heart was at war with the principles of God's law. . . . But "God so loved the
world, that he gave his only-begotten Son," that man might be reconciled to God.
Through the merits of Christ he can be restored to harmony with his Maker. His
heart must be renewed by divine grace; he must have a new life from above. This
change is the new birth. . . ." {AG 20.3}.

Notice that the change did not occur with God. He still came to Adam at the
appointed time. It was Adam who ran, he no longer felt comfortable with God. But
God still loved him. Adam thought that surely God was coming to carry out the death
sentence. But God never said to Adam, "In the day that you eat of the tree, I will kill
you!" He said you would die. At this point a question: When a leaf of a tree is cut off
from the tree...what happens? Thats right...it starts to die. God knew that would be the
case. But instead of Adam presenting himself to God, he chose to stay away.

Joh 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

This is why God said to Adam, he will surely die. Not because God would kill him,
but because he would not return to God after he sinned. Sin seperates, sepeation from
God kills. For only with God there is life. Thank God, the death of Christ caused
enmity to be placed within the heart of man, and now he comes to God. He comes
presenting himself to God. Jesus died so that you can have this access:
Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our
Lord Jesus Christ:
Rom 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand,

and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

God had not changed His thoughts towards us:
Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not
consumed.
Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD,
thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

There Was A Change In Man

Sin did not produce a change in Him, but in us. Therefore, He had to show us that He
loves us still. Jesus was the proof of that love. Would you let your beloved die to save
someone you hate? Jesus' death didn't create love it manifested it (John 3:16).

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2

The entrance of sin changed the mind of man from spiritual to carnal. The lust of the
eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life, became man's new nature. Christ
stepped in to reverse this:
When the human family received the deadly wound caused by
Adam's transgression, it became needful for the sinless Son of God,
One equal with the Father, to take our nature upon Him, and come
to the world to live in our behalf a perfect life, making it possible
for man, through His ministration, to become a partaker of the
divine nature, and thus escape the corruption that is in the world
through lust. It was as our Redeemer that He came, that those who
believe in Him may receive from Him the strength and the virtue
that will enable them to overcome in the struggle with evil. For
this reason the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. As in
Adam all die, even so, through accepting Christ as a personal
Saviour, all may be alive. "He that believeth on the Son hath
everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life;
but the wrath of God abideth on him" (John 3:36). {11MR 365.1}

1Jn 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any
man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1Jn 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1Jn 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the
will of God abideth for ever.
The Transformer www.tffgmiami.org

The religion of Christ is summed up in the words, "Thou shalt

love the Lord thy God with all thy heart; . . . thou shalt love thy
neighbor as thyself." But through love of the world, through
unsanctified ambition, through self-love, and desire for
supremacy, many are being conformed to the world, although the
command from the Gospel of Christ is, "Be not conformed to this
world [and the preventative is given]; but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind." You must have a changed mind, a
renewed mind. The power of the Holy Spirit must be felt working
upon the heart and character, producing a new man in Christ
Jesus.

1Pe 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm
yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh
hath ceased from sin;
1Pe 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the
lusts of men, but to the will of God.

The will of God

The renewed man does not have the same mind, he has the mind of Christ, there is a
heart transplant. The renewed man then, does not run and hide when God comes to
him, for he delights now to do the will of God.

Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within
you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart
of flesh.
Psa 40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

This has never been an outward change, it has always come from God. The
renewing of the mind, is not accomplished through sheer force of will. For we
have no true force of will. It has become perverted over the past six-thousand
years. We do not know our hearts
Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who
can know it?

Come, dear reader, to Jesus, that He may effect the change in your heart. That you
may prove what is the will of God. This is the only way to truly belive the truth in
The Transformer www.tffgmiami.org

Romans12:1,2. It is by coming to God and presenting ourselves to Him just as we are

so that He may send us on our way, Just as He is (Isaiah 6:1-8).

As A Man Thinks

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of
himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every
man the measure of faith. Romans12: 3.

While it is true that by beholding we become changed, it is equally true that by

thinking we become changed. Let us look at the anatomy of sin:

Jas 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be
tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and
enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is
finished, bringeth forth death.
Jas 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

Here we see that most insidious of all sins. The transgression of the tenth
commandment: "Thou Shall not covet..." Ex.20:17. For you see dear reader, while
murder and stealing and adultry are its outward manifestation, lust for what another
has is only a thought- it is envy. Might this have been the condition of Eve as she
approached the forbidden tree:
The angels had cautioned Eve to beware of separating herself
from her husband while occupied in their daily labor in the
garden; with him she would be in less danger from temptation
than if she were alone. But absorbed in her pleasing task, she
unconsciously wandered from his side. On perceiving that she was
alone, she felt an apprehension of danger, but dismissed her fears,
deciding that she had sufficient wisdom and strength to discern
evil and to withstand it. Unmindful of the angels' caution, she
soon found herself gazing with mingled curiosity and admiration
upon the forbidden tree. The fruit was very beautiful, and she
questioned with herself why God had withheld it from them. (PP
53,54).
Did you catch that, dear friend, Eve thought more highly of herself more than she
aught to have. She decided she had sufficient wisdom to withstand. But did she?
1Co 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this
world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
No she did not. Yet in her lack she did not go to God that He may supply the
The Transformer www.tffgmiami.org

sufficency:
Jas 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men
liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Where then do we get the idea that we can think more highly of ourselves that we
aught? From Satan, he was the very first one in whon pride welled up:
Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my
throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in
the sides of the north:
Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
If we are to attain to the character of God, we must think as God thinks:
Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Php 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Php 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a
servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Php 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became
obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Notice that Satan wanted to go even higher than God, but God chose to go lower than
man: what condesension! We are to think soberly (in other words we must be of a
right mind in our thinking).
We need a constant sense of the ennobling power of pure thoughts.
The only security for any soul is right thinking. As a man
"thinketh in his heart, so is he." The power of self-restraint
strengthens by exercise. That which at first seems difficult, by
constant repetition grows easy, until right thoughts and actions
become habitual. If we will, we may turn away from all that is
cheap and inferior, and rise to a higher standard; we may be
respected by men, and beloved of God.--The Ministry of Healing,
page 491

Conclusion
The times is now when we should be bending our steps back to Eden. By
dwelling upon ourselves. By seeking after worldly ambition by having pride
puff us up, we will not have room in the heart for Jesus. It is now while we are
in this life to attain to the character of Christ, to be seperate from sinners to be
undefiled. For it will be too late when the Son of God puts in His appearance.
Every case would have been decided. The messages would have been given,
warning either accepted or rejected. Now reader, before you go on. May it be
that what you have read thus far encourage you to make a full surrender into the
arms of Jesus. By His Spirit alone can any of us ever hoped to have a renewed
mind and access to Eden restored.

Chapter 2: One Body In Christ

Rom 12:4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the
same office:
Rom 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of
another.
Rom 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us,
whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
Rom 12:7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on
teaching;
Rom 12:8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with
simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with
cheerfulness.

Eve had been perfectly happy by her husband's side in

her Eden home; but, like restless modern Eves, she was flattered
with the hope of entering a higher sphere than that which God
had assigned her. In attempting to rise above her original
position, she fell far below it. A similar result will be reached by
all who are unwilling to take up cheerfully their life duties in
accordance with God's plan. In their efforts to reach positions for
which He has not fitted them, many are leaving vacant the place
where they might be a blessing. . . . {CC 18.3}

Let Us Learn To Wait On God

Satan has always worked through division to blind the eyes of men to their true
position. He who in heaven wanted to rise above his fellows, knows that if he can get
us to think more highly of ourselves, the next logical step would be to seek a higher
position. We would not wait to improve upon the gifts that God has already given us.
We would not, could not be satisfied with being an ear, when the hand gets so much
glory. But even Satan realized that to be in God's presence was worth all the positions
in the universe:
The hour for joyful, happy songs of praise to God and his dear Son
had come. Satan had led the heavenly choir. He had raised the
first note, then all the angelic host united with him, and glorious
strains of music had resounded through Heaven in honor of God
and his dear Son. But now, instead of strains of sweetest music,
discord and angry words fall upon the ear of the great rebel
leader. Where was he? Was it not all a horrible dream? Was he
The Transformer www.tffgmiami.org

shut out of Heaven? Were the gates of Heaven never more to open
and admit him? The hour of worship draws nigh, when bright and
holy angels bow before the Father. No more will he unite in
heavenly song. No more will he bow in reverence and holy awe
before the presence of the eternal God. Could he be again as he was
when he was pure, true and loyal, gladly would he yield up the
claims of his authority. But he was lost! beyond redemption, for his
presumptuous rebellion! And this was not all; he had led others to
rebellion and to the same lost condition with himself--angels, who
had never thought to question the will of Heaven, or refuse
obedience to the law of God till he had put it into their minds,
presenting before them that they might enjoy a greater good, a
higher and more glorious liberty. This had been the sophistry
whereby he had deceived them. A responsibility now rests upon
him from which he would fain be released. {1SP 28.2}
These spirits had become turbulent with disappointed hopes.
Instead of greater good, they were experiencing the sad results of
disobedience and disregard of law. Never more would these
unhappy beings be swayed by the mild rule of Jesus Christ. Never
more would their spirits be stirred by the deep, earnest love, peace,
and joy, which his presence had ever inspired in them, to be
returned to him in cheerful obedience and reverential honor. {1SP
29.1}

Bitter Result Of Not Accepting Our Lot In Life

Satan trembled as he viewed his work. He was alone in
meditation upon the past, the present, and his future plans. His
mighty frame shook as with a tempest. An angel from Heaven was
passing. He called him, and entreated an interview with Christ.
This was granted him. He then related to the Son of God that he
repented of his rebellion, and wished again the favor of God. He
was willing to take the place God had previously assigned him,
and be under his wise command. Christ wept at Satan's woe, but
told him, as the mind of God, that he could never be received into
Heaven. Heaven must not be placed in jeopardy. All Heaven would
be marred should he be received back; for sin and rebellion
originated with him. The seeds of rebellion were still within him.
He had, in his rebellion, no occasion for his course, and he had not
only hopelessly ruined himself, but the host of angels also, who
The Transformer www.tffgmiami.org

would then have been happy in Heaven had he remained steadfast.

The law of God could condemn, but could not pardon. {1SP 29.2}
He repented not of his rebellion because he saw the goodness of
God which he had abused. It was not possible that his love for God
had so increased since his fall that it would lead to cheerful
submission and happy obedience to his law which had been
despised. The wretchedness he realized in losing the sweet light of
Heaven, and the sense of guilt which forced itself upon him, and
the disappointment he experienced himself in not finding his
expectations realized, were the cause of his grief. To be
commander out of Heaven, was vastly different from being thus
honored in Heaven. The loss he had sustained of all the privileges
of Heaven seemed too much to be borne. He wished to regain these.
{1SP 30.1}
No matter how un-enticing our lot in this life we should do it with with
simplicity, dilligence and cheerfulness. This is the only real outcome if we desire to
bear the fruits of happiness. Too late will it be when we see that the thing we have
grasped for is only sweeter when given at the hand of God:
Ecc 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no
work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
Eph 6:5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh,
with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
Eph 6:6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the
will of God from the heart;
Eph 6:7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
Eph 6:8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he
receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
Col 3:22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with
eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
Col 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Col 3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for
ye serve the Lord Christ.

Conclusion
We are never called upon to make a real sacrifice for God. Many things He asks us to
yield to Him, but in doing this we are but giving up that which hinders us in the
heavenward way. Even when called upon to surrender those things which in
themselves are good, we may be sure that God is thus working out for us some higher
good.
In the future life the mysteries that here have annoyed and disappointed us will be
made plain. We shall see that our seemingly unanswered prayers and disappointed
hopes have been among our greatest blessings.
We are to look upon every duty, however humble, as sacred because it is a part of
The Transformer www.tffgmiami.org

God's service. Our daily prayer should be, "Lord, help me to do my best. Teach me
how to do better work. Give me energy and cheerfulness. Help me to bring into my
service the loving ministry of the Saviour." {MH 474}

Chapter 3: Transformed
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low
estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance
is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap
coals of fire on his head.
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:9-21

We are not privy to the after Eden life of Adam and Eve, except after the birth of
their children, Eve knew they were from God. Especially did she see the image of
God in Seth...this is a mystery dear reader. Why? Because it is the chief attribute that
must be seen in us before Christ returns again:
"When the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle,
because the harvest is come." Christ is waiting with longing desire for the
manifestation of Himself in His church. When the character of Christ shall be
perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own.
{COL 69.1}
Yet we are told that Seth reflected Christ. In fact, it is in Seth's genealogy is that
generation that is called, "the sons of God." (Genesis 6:2). The lineage of Cain stands
in contrast to that of Seth. Genesis 6 tells us that instead of the children of God
winning the world to Him, they were conformed to the world. They became
degenerate instead of regenerated.
Our closing Scriptures give us the formulae of how to have a transformed life. Our
love cannot be tainted with worldliness. It must be a love forged in the furnace of
heaven (gold tried in the fire).
Dissimulation= hypocrisy, insincereity. Our love needs to be unfeigned. But this
cannot happen by earthly methods. Transformation cannot come from earth. In fact
only evil can originate from Earth. Notice that all that is evil needs to be abhored, and
all that is good needs to be cleaved to. If we have the love of God flowing through
us, all the other things that follow, will flow smoothly.
The Transformer www.tffgmiami.org

"Be kindly affectionate one to another." If we would treat people the way they should
be treated, we need to know how God treats us. The Bible tells us that human love
goes only so far (John 15:13), we only do for those whom we consider worthy-our
friends, or good deserving people. But God loved us when we were His enemies (see
Romans 5:6-8). 1Corinthians 13:1-3 tells us that if we do not have God-motivated
love, we are just noisy instruments. The love originated from heaven bears all and
bears it long (v.4-7).
It is only this love that awakens love in us. This is the secret of life, this is the secret
of the transformation..the mind of Christ in you. We will not want to change, see no
need to change, until we see Jesus and how good He is, and see us and how evil we
are. Only then will we want to have His life...His love, reproduced in us.

Eternal Life Now

1Jn 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath
eternal life abiding in him.
We know that we have eternal life when we love one another (1John 3:14). This is
not a mere show of it, for this eternal life come only through Christ, and not apart
from Him. He who has the Son has life (1John 5:12). This then must be the central
theme of this little study guide: Receive Jesus so that you may have eternal life now.
Will you choose Jesus dear reader?

Appeal
Dear reader, this little study does not give us room to go int all the details that this
chapter of Romans brings out...but we close with its closing thought....in a world
where it would be so easy to give back for how it treats you, the proverbial, "tit-for-
tat" we are called to a higher standard...when we discover this truth it changes us...for
we will not dwell where evil abounds...we will press on to higher ground.
This world is truly a vast lazar house of sicness, evil, vice and perversity of every
kind. But you dear reader need not drown in its darkness...be not overcome of evil,
but overcome evil with good. Yet as we've seen, none of us are good...so therefore we
need to have Jesus in us so that His light...His life can shine brightly through us.
You need no more be conforming to the world's standards...through renewing the
mind, you may be transformed into the character of Christ. Do you want this for
yourself and for your loved ones? I pray you would say yes. Then pray and ask God
to give you His life in exchange for your sins...it is not too late...while mercy still
lingers...appeal to The Transformer for the help He is offering...see you in heaven.
The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you all. Amen!

The End
