To Whom It May Concern:
I have been employed by KBR at Al Asad air base in Iraq for the last 4-1/2 years
, and have gained experience driving, and supervising for military support, outs
ide the wire in an active combat environment. I was an active driver and "Convo
y Lead" in Iraq, which included preventive maintenance checks, emergency road re
pairs and all associated paperwork, as well as dealing with numerous dangerous s
ituations that required fast thinking and problem solving to ensure the convoy's
safety. I have transported fuel and ammunition, and have vast experience with
all types of tankers, flatbeds, reefers, and dry box. I have become familiar wi
th harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. I am also very adaptable
and trainable in various positions and procedures.
I have recently returned home to look for work. As the troops withdraw, less mi
litary support is needed, and KBR is cutting back the majority of its presence t
here as well. I look forward to hearing from you, as I am anxious to get back t
o work.
Sincerely,
Joseph E. Wittlieff

Convoy Lead/Driver Al Asad Air Base, Iraq
Reported to, and received assignments, instructions, and direction from the Fore
man or General Foreman. Read and interpreted instructions and documentation to
plan work activities. I operated company vehicles, with a capacity of up to 30
tons, to move materials, tools, and equipment to and from work locations in supp
ort of construction and maintenance activities. Delivered operating materials an
d supplies from one military base to another in a hostile environment with very
poor road conditions, where there were roads. During this time, I pulled reefer
s, vans, flat beds, and tankers containing freight that was often hazardous, suc
h as fuels, ammunitions or explosives. As "Convoy Lead", a position I held for
three years, I had the additional responsibility of communicating with both mili
tary escorts and other trucks in the convoy, ensuring that orders were followed,
while watching for potential hazards as I would be the first to reach them. I
loaded and unloaded trailers, solved equipment issues in circumstances that were
"less then ideal", and completed all associated government and company paperwor
k. Observed and followed all safety rules and procedures, including wearing req
uired personal safety equipment. Performed other duties as directed in potentia
lly dangerous areas, including combat and war zones.
