Design coordinator
Responsible for conceptual design in sketch form as well as CAD generated drawin
gs detailed enough for conveying design intent and further development into cons
truction documents. Projects included both national and international shops as w
ell as retail stores. In addition, performed various project management tasks re
quired for successful build out.
Design responsibilities:
Gather project information and examine documents for complete detailed informati
on with regard to drawing requirements, CAD documents, design criteria, site res
trictions etc.
Prepare shop/store layouts in sketch form for internal review, develop design in
to CAD documents including fixture layout (floor plan), RCP, floor finish, store
front and interior elevations.
Coordinate design development with consultants/ architects/partners/ as case be
for construction document set preparation.
Review construction documents for approval and execution. Call out discrepancies
and corrections in drawing documents for resubmission.
Project / Administrative duties:
Follow up with account executives, business partners, mall/airport authorities t
he design approval process.
Review shop drawings and control finish sample submissions. Support efforts to p
roduce correct drawings and procure exact/ similar finish materials.
Coordinate with consulting architects/construction managers the build out of sh
ops/stores.
Prepare and document project reports on completion for department review and rec
ords.
Assist variety of fixture and merchandising programs.
Source and maintain library for materials, vendors, suppliers, distributors.
Prepare design guides, construction guides for assisting the shop/store construc
tion.
Schedule, track and ensure timely completion and achieve top quality results of
shop/store opening.
Maintain excellent working relationships with account partners, team members, co
nsultants, business partners, channel heads to ensure overall success of the com
pany and maintain brand image.
