Mixed practice providing service to mainly canine, feline, bovine,
and equine patients; 6 support staff members and 4 veterinarians
operating out of 1 location; gross revenue approximates $1.4 million
annually.
Staff Veterinarian
Function in simultaneous client management and hands-on
diagnostic/clinic services role; promote expertise, products, and
professional services whiles also balancing profit margin
expectations and client financial standing through estimates,
cost/benefit assessments, and short/long-term goals.
Diagnose and respond to patient conditions (in both clinic and
throughout local area providing farm services), perform surgical
services (including surgery preps, anesthetic protocol design and
drug selection), delegate responsibilities and ensure performance of

individual staff on areas of veterinary interest; e.g. encourage and
train staff members on interpreting cytology slides as well as taking
patient histories and thoroughly identifying key elements.

communications and diplomatic skills; includes strategically removing
client from patient care regimen to ensure progression, quality and
results of overall care provided.
* Effectively diagnose patients through blood counts, blood smears,

imaging (radiographs and ultrasonography), urine analysis,
cytological evaluation of bodily fluids and tissue masses, and
interpretation of histopathological reports.
