Körös–Maros
Make it a „greener” festival, because…

festivals with high number of visitors inevitably increase the environmental
load:
• organic and non-organic waste is generated,
• causes sound- and light pollution
• causes damage to the natural environment
• increases dust- and carbon-dioxide pollution

The Ministry of Environment and Water in cooperation with the festival

organiser trade and green non-profit organisations established a grading

system to decrease the environmental load caused by events and festivals.
In order to receive the distinguished “Green Festival” title, events and
festivals shall also promote environment-conscious way of thinking.

Did you know what makes a festival GREEN?

The following environmental objectives shall be fulfilled by a Green
Festival:

Duna–Dráva
Environmental rehabilitation: measures undertaken by the organiser
to remedy the environmental damage done to the land i.e. restore the
conditions of the land to the status before the festival. Establishment of

Balaton Uplands
selective waste collection islands: documented ratio of selectively collected
and recyclable waste shall reach 20%. Organised transportation for the

public: promoting public transportation, sharing cars and bicycle access to

the event, establishment of free bicycle storage areas and parking spaces
in a way that it causes minimum disturbance and damage to nature.
Fertő-Hanság

Strict adherence to limit values ensuring the reduction of noise- and light
pollution.
