EDUCATION
Binghamton University, State University of New York
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, expected January 2011
COMPLETED PROJECTS
Reverse Engineering
August 2006 - December 2006
Analyzed components of a finished product in Solid Edge program to determine how
it was utilized
Dismantled product to expose underlying components
Reassembled the parts to recreate the initial finished product
Created an exploded assembly, which illustrates the placement of each part in th
e finished product
Global Issues
January 2007 - May 2007
Selected maritime safety as global pressing issue and examined the structural in
tegrity of oil tanker hulls
Devised three methods that would strengthen oil tanker hulls against impact and
decrease oil spills
Examined feasibility of three methods: double hulling, separation of hull into c
ompartments and installation of mesh around hull.
Landing Gear Assembly and Analysis
August 2008 -December 2008
Created and modified solid models of landing gear components and landing gear as
sembly in Professional Engineer program
Composed detailed drawings of landing gear and allowed for simulated motion of t
he landing gear using the mechanism application of the Professional Engineer pro
gram
Calculated the stresses present in the bolts of the landing gear assembly and d
elivered the results in a concise technical report
Bolt Torques and Electrical Bonding(Senior Project)
August 2009- May 2010
Designed an experimental setup to manually record the failure torques of five di
fferent bolt sizes
Calculated familiar criteria of bolts in relation to their experimentally obtain
ed failure torques
Researched the relationship between bolt torques and how bolts are affected by
current passing through them
Programmed a thermal shock chamber to create appropriate test conditions to meas
ure the reaction of current applied through a bolt with respect to temperature c
ycling
Presented the results of the project to department professors and project sponso
rs
Created a detailed yet concise technical report to explain and display all the n
ecessary results of the project
