Alhamdullilah thanks to God because of His bless, I successfully

undergo this industrial training in SONY EMCS (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD

which is located in Bangi Industrial Estate. From the first day I joined
Sony, 4th June 2007 until 11th January 2008, there is no major problem
that I face and I managed to complete this training smoothly. I was
also able to finish my tasks provided by my superior in my department.
Here I would like to wish my greatest appreciation to those who are
responsible and supported me from start to the end of this industrial
training. They were:
1� My beloved parents and all my siblings.
2�All the honored lecturers that responsible for me in Faculty of
Mechanical Engineering.
3�The management of SONY EMCS SDN BHD especially to the
Head Of Department because of willing to give me a chance to
do the industrial training for 8 month in this company.
4�The Head of Department manager in Safety department, Mr.
Gan Eng Hock.
5�My supervisors, Mr. Visendra Mithran.
6�The other trainees that have been help me a lot when trying to
solve problem and always to keep me company during my
training here.

Finally, once again I want to give a big appreciation and thanks to

all the people that have been responsible and give me advice during
my training in Sony. Hope all of your kindness will be rewarded. I hope
that all of my experience I gain in Sony will help me in the future
especially when I will start my working life. Last words, thank you and

Last but not least great big thanks goes to my parents who have given immense support
in one way or another contributed to the success of this project. Not forgetting also great
big thanks to those who had assisted me in completing my training directly or indirectly.
I would like to express my utmost gratitude to my supervisors Khalil Shehabuddeen and
Colin Lobo for their supervisory skills and guidance which made the completion of this
training successful. It was a privilege to be under their supervision. Their availability,
time and support have been invaluable to me.

My sincere appreciation also goes to my UTP supervisors, Dr. Rao and Dr. Setyamartana,
who has given me support during my training.

Heartfelt appreciation is extended to the staffs in my host company, Transocean Drilling,

for their assistance and guidance through out the training. Rig Crews on-board Deepwater
Expedition, Sedco601, Roger W. Mowell and the Stack Team for their contribution in
providing the expertise, help and cooperation during completing my tasks. Their effort
and guidance to me is very much appreciated. Without their consent the success today
would not be a reality.

First of all, I would like to thank my host company, PETRONAS Research Sdn Bhd
(PRSB for the opportunity to undergo 32 weeks of Industrial Internship Training Program
(IITP) as a requirement for my degree program. I would also like to express my deepest
appreciation to the staff of PRSB whom were involved in my IITP, especially to my
supervisor Pn Zahidah Md Zain who has tirelessly supervised and guided me throughout
my IITP period. Not to forget her kind support and assistance during my presentation and
report. Special thanks to all technicians and my colleagues for their kind support and
advice throughout the 32 weeks. I would also like to my appreciation to those who were
involved directly and indirectly to assure the success of my IITP program. Although I am
unable to personally thank all of the persons involved, the following are a list of people
who I would like to extend my deepest gratitude:

Transocean Drilling Sdn. Bhd. has provided me with an excellent

training to expose myself to the drilling operations of the oil and gas
industry. Throughout the duration of the internship, I have gained a lot
of knowledge theoretically and practically to prepare myself for the
working environment in the future. Great support and guidance from
the people around me has helped to achieve my objectives of this
programme. With this opportunity, I would like to express my
appreciation to those who directly or indirectly assisted me through
these 8 months in giving me training, support and advice.

Solution Engineering Sdn. Bhd (SESB) has provided me with an

excellent training to
shape me up as a good engineer. Throughout this 8 months training, I
have gained a lot of
knowledge theoretically or practically to prepare myself for the real
working environment
in the future. Support and cooperation from the people around me is a
must to help me to
succeed in this internship program. With this opportunity, I would like
to express my

these 8 months in

First and foremost, it would befitting to extend my outstretched
gratitude to Mr. Lim Hai
Guan, the Equipment Engineering Manager, who has done a great job
as my plant
supervisor. He has provided support and guidance throughout the
period which help me
successfully complete the training. It was really a privilege to be under
his supervision.
Opportunities given showed that he has great confidence in the
student. His caring nature
gave a sense of belonging in the working community.

I first set my foot in PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd., Sarawak Operations and was
greeted by the BME/Rotating Acting Head at that time, Mr. Sura Venkata Srikanth. He
has been a very busy man, tangled up in his work, troubleshooting problems with all the
rotating equipments, and yet, he still has time to cater for my training schedule and
development as a trainee engineer. From time to time, he would test my understandings
on the design and operation of rotating equipments by asking instantaneous questions. I
would also like to acknowledge the contributions of the rotating engineers, Mr. Arif
Ibrahim and Mr. Nizam Nadzimuddin, who have always been eager to teach and inspire
myself to be a dedicated engineer. They have shown great ability in absorbing knowledge
and practicing skills in the discipline of rotating equipments. With their abilities and
aptitudes, there is no doubt that they will become expert in rotating equipments one of
these days. Many thanks as well to our boss in BME/Rotating, Mr. Azizol that have been
an inspiring leader and understanding principal. Not to forget the continuous assistance
by Mr. Hardi Hazizie, rotating engineer and Mr. Ganesh Doresamy, rotating planner, that
have been very supportive in assisting me in resolving emerging issues and acquiring
essential information. I would also like to recognize the contributions by my mentors in
vibration analysis, Mr. Hishamuddin, Mr. Syarifuddin and Mr. Wan Syahril. Their
unremitting lessons in vibration have helped me in developing my abilities and add to my
skills. With cherry on top, I would like to once again convey my numerous thanks and
gratitude upon the contribution that these men have put in through my internship training
