Biblical Description of Heaven

Living Water Christian Fellowship


  Heaven is our true home (2 Cor 5:6-8)

  We
are to set our attention on heaven
(Col 3:2-3)

  We are to long for heaven (1 Peter 1:17)


  "Itis since Christians have largely ceased
to think of the other world that they have
become so ineffective in this one." God
commands us to be heavenly minded, and
doing so will give us the perspective and
motivation to live on earth as he has
commanded us
  (Phil.
3:20) "But our citizenship is in heaven. And
we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus
Christ."
  (1Peter 1:17) "Since you call on a Father who
judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as
strangers here in reverent fear."
  (1Peter 2:11) "Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and
strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires,
which war against your soul.
1.  Heaven is an actual “prepared” place
(John 14:2-4)
2.  Heaven is described as a city (Heb. 11:16;
12:22; 13:14; Rev. 21:12)
3.  Heaven has 12 gates which shine like
pearls (Rev. 21:24-25; 22:14)
4.  Heaven has a river (Rev 22:1-2)

5.  Heaven has a garden (Rev 22:1-2)

6.  Heaven has a golden streets, clear walls,


throne, buildings of pearls (Rev. 21:18-21)
7  The names of Christ's redeemed are written
in heaven (Luke 10:20; Heb. 12:23; Rev.
20:15)
8  Heaven has the Fathers house (John 14:2)
9  Heaven has light, trees and healing fruit
(Rev. 22:1-5)
10  Heaven contains animals, at least in its
millennial phase (Is 65:25)

9.  We will be reunited with our loved ones
10.  We will see Jesus (Phil. 1:23)
