The North Maharashtra University (NMU), Jalgaon (M.S.) is one of the well established premier State Government University working with the objectives of imparting higher education, research and training suitable to meet the challenges of 21st century. It has been reaccredited with the status of B grade (2.88) by PEER Review Committee of NAAC, Banglore in 2009. Guided by focused vision and dedicated research and academic efforts, UDCT (University Department of Chemical Technology) founded in the year 1994, has established its own identity in the field of Chemical Engineering and Technology through its dedicated faculty and state of art infrastructure. The department has received research project grants (around 3.0 Crore) from various agencies like DST, CSIR, DRDO, UGC, AICTE etc. and has been recently covered under SAP Scheme of UGC, FIST Scheme of DST and Innovative Programme of UGC. The Department runs AICTE recognized Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) and Master of Technology (M. Tech.) degree courses and pursues Ph. D. Research Programme in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Chemical Engineering and Technology and Pharmaceutical Technology to fulfill the growing demands of Entrepreneurs, Technocrats and Scientists. The sophisticated instrumentation facility of department includes characterization facilities of latest version AFM, DSC, TGA, FTIR, GC, HPLC, XRD, Colour Matching and UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Brookfield and Stress Relaxation Viscometer, Vapour Pressure Osmometer, Dissolution Test Apparatus, etc. The Department is presently processing purchasing of Particle Size Analyzer, GPC, FESEM, Pan coating, High Pressure Homogenizer, Lyophilizer, Spray Dryer etc. The academic flexibility, credit system and well designed syllabus has been implemented for all-round evaluation of students aspiring

professional technocrats of high caliber.. The research project work in third and fourth semester of M. Tech. programme is supported by renowned Chemical/Pharmaceutical industries. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to two-year duration full-time Postgraduate Programme- M. Tech. in I) Chemical Engineering, II) Polymer Technology, III) Pharmaceutical Technology, IV) Oleochemicals & Surfactants

Technology, and V) Nano Science and Technology (covered under Innovative Programme of UGC) at this University. VI) Paints Technology VII) Food & Fermentation Technology.

Financial Assistance and Hostel Facility:

Selected meritorious full-time candidates will be provided with Teaching Assistance @ Rs.2500/- per month. During Second year M. Tech., selected students will be given opportunity to work at Renowned Industries for their Research Projects supported by Fellowship @ Rs. 10,000-12,000/- p.m. Separate bachelor hostel accommodation for Female and Male candidates is available on the campus. Students holding valid GATE/GPAT Score are entitled for AICTE fellowship. Candidates with valid GATE/ GPAT score are entitled for fellowship @ Rs. 8000/- per month from AICTE New Delhi.

18 seats for full time (Total-18). The reservation will be as per rules of State Government of Maharashtra.

Qualifying Degree
B.E./ B. Tech. Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Technology or equivalent B.E. / B. Tech. in Plastics/ Polymer/ Paints Tech. or equivalent or M. Sc. in Chemistry B. Pharmacy or B. Tech. (Pharmaceuticals), M. Sc. (Drug Chemistry) B.E. / B. Tech. in Oils, Fats & Waxes Tech. or equivalent or M. Sc. in Chemistry B.E. / B. Tech. in any Engg. / Tech. Branch or M. Sc. in any Science Branch or B. Pharm. B.E. / B. Tech. in Food Tech. or M. Sc. in Chemistry/ Bio. Tech./ Microbiology/ Food Science/Biochemistry/Dairy Sciences.

The applicants from open category must hold minimum of 55% marks and reserved category must hold minimum of 50% marks in qualifying examination. Those who are awaiting final year results may also apply, but they will have to submit their result on or before 31/08/2011 (before 5.30 p.m.).

Selection Procedure:
Eligible Candidates applying for M. Tech. Programme will have to appear for the written test and interview to be conducted by this University on 26/07/2011. Candidates with valid GATE/ GPAT score are exempted from the written test.
