: Macedonia : The Taliban

Committee : Disarmament and International Security Committee The Taliban continues to pose a threat to the stability and peace of the Middle East. Their group is widely known for human rights violations as well as attacks on aid workers, up until now it has been recorded about 90 attacks to foreign aid in Afghanistan. If this unfavourable situation goes on the reconstruction of Afghanistan will come to a halt. Not only in Afghan, The Taliban also continues to spread their influence all across the nation and has reached the borders of our country. Their influence had increase radicalization in pockets of the country's Islamic community, particularly after armed groups from the ethnic Albanian minority, which forms a quarter of the population of 2.1 million, fought a brief war against Macedonian government forces in 2001. Their movements or we could say the Wahhabism has become more aggressive ever since then. We as The Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia as a part of the international coalition in the fight against terrorism cannot be excluded from the responsibility to observe and respond to any possible activity or emerging of terrorists. We proposed to the UN to conduct a continuation of training, mentoring and equipping of the Afghan army and police; the strong monitoring of the border in order to eradicate safe heavens for insurgents and terrorist groups; and assertive measures to reduce levels of corruption; and lastly the eradication of opium poppy in Afghanistan as the main source of financial activities for the Taliban.

: Macedonia : Cyber terrorism

Committee : Disarmament and International Security Committee Terrorism is a crime against humanity and civilization and is one of the serious threat to the sovereignty of each state because terrorism is an international crime that is causing danger to the security, world peace and harming the welfare of the community that needs to be done in a planned eradication and sustainable so that the human rights crowd can be protected and upheld. Nowadays, terrorism has evolved along with the technology. Mastery of technology is often misused to commit a crime which in the other words we call it cyber crime. The United Nations has responded to this threat, but with minor actions. Due to other major problems in the world today, a threat such as Cyber terrorism, which has technically not been used yet, is put aside. Despite the lack of attention, the United Nations has developed situations. The Council of Europe developed the Convention on Cybercrime. This Convention hoped to establish common laws between nations, in order to increase the prevention of cyber attacks. The convention covered almost all types of cyber crime and most importantly acts as a call to unite nations against all forms of cyber crime. The International Criminal Police Organization also acts against cyber terrorism. Interpol has collected information concerning cyber crimes to establish a database. Interpol has also developed methods to secure communication between development of training

programs, in order to train future crime detectors about cyber terrorism. The future of cyber terrorism relies on the United Nations creating laws and resolutions to stop this often ignored topic. We as The Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia is looking forward and support the UN to stop the cyber terrorism help the world welfare. We propose that the UN should create a list of cyber terrorist countries, similar to Terrorist Countries List. Countries that do not sign an anti-cyber terrorism treaty and are on the top of attacking countries list should be located on Cyber terrorist Countries List. Another effective

approach is to create an international Cyber Arms Control Treaty. To be effective, it should bind all countries. It could either be forced by Cyber terrorism Countries List connected with trade restrictions or can be a part of United Nations' law system. Next restrictions Countries that do not sign anti-cyber terrorism treaty should not have any privileged status in the Department of Commerce nor any of state or government institutions. Export of advanced technology to such countries should also be restricted especially when those countries are on the Cyber terrorist Countries List. And last but not least, we want to engage all the best hackers from around the world to maintain and protect from cyber attack.
