MDM Console: Create a Repository Part - 1

Business Scenario
In this example, the existing repositories do not meet your requirements or you need a new repository for testing, development or training. Therefore, a new repository is created.

Syndication Process Flow Overview


1. Launch MDM Console. 2. Select MDM Server. 3. Create New Repository. 4. Add the Spanish Language to the selected languages. 5. View multilingual languages: English, Spanish. 6. Load Repository. 7. Verify Results. MDM Console Steps 1. Launch the MDM Console application from your Windows desktop. You should see:

2. If your training MDM Server is already listed in the Console Hierarchy, skip directly to Step 5; otherwise, continue with this step because you will need to mount the server. To mount the server, right-click SAP MDM Servers in the Console Hierarchy and select Mount MDM Server

3. You can select the MDM Server from the dropdown list of recently-used Servers, or type in its name, or click the button to browse for and select it from a list. Type in the name of the MDM Server provided to you by your instructor. For example:

4. Press the OK button. You should see:

5. Display the existing list of repositories by clicking on the + sign to the left of the server name:

You should see something like the following:

6. Right-click on the Server name and select Create Repository

7. Select a database server from the dropdown list of recently-used servers or click the button to browse for and select from a list. Browse for and select the database provided to you by your instructor. For example:

Select the database indicated to you by your instructor and click the OK button. You should see:

11. Type in the name and port number of your repository using the syntax provided to you by your instructor. For example:
Note: all students will be creating repositories on the same server so the repository name and port number you specify must be unique to you. Again, your instructor will provide you with the syntax.

12. Verify that the Repository Name and Port are correct. Click
