Familia lui Andi se pregtea s se mute n cas nou.

Andi se uita la tatl lui, care, cu grij, scotea din cas fotoliul su preferat. Mama a nvelit albumul de familie ntr-o ptur. Sora lui Andi i strngea la piept pisicua. Nu i-ar da drumul pentru nimic n lume.

Andy s family was moving to a new house.

Andy watched as Papa carefully carried out his favorite armchair. Mama wrapped the family album in a blanket. Andys sister held her kitten safely in her arms. She would never leave it behind.

Andy wanted to take his favorite thing, too.

He went into the garden where his cherry tree grew. I love you, cherry tree! he said. I want to take you to our new house with me.

Andy tried to break off a branch.

But he realized the branch might die. So he lled a basket with cherries to take to his new home instead.

ts time to go, Papa said. Everyone got into the car. As they drove off, Andy waved good-bye to his cherry tree.

n curnd, au ajuns la minunata lor cas nou.

Toat familia a nceput s despacheteze lucrurile. Tata a ales locul cel mai potrivit pentru fotoliul su, mama a pus albumul de familie pe emineu, iar pisica a zbughit-o n buctrie s mnnce lapte.

Soon they reached their wonderful new house.

Everyone began putting things away. Papa chose the perfect place for his armchair, Mama placed the family album on the replace, and the kitten ran into the kitchen to sip some milk.

Haidei la mas, a spus mama.

Dup prnz, tata a spus: Ce bune ar acum nite ciree!

Eu am ciree! a spus Andi.

A servit pe toat lumea. Cireele s-au terminat repede.

Acum am doar smburii! a oftat Andi.

A adunat smburii i i-a pus ntr-o can.

Mama said, Come everyone, lets sit down and have lunch.
After lunch, Papa said, Cherries would taste delicious now. I have some! Andy said. He passed around the basket. Soon all of the cherries were gone. Now I just have cherry pits, Andy sighed. Carefully he placed the pits in a bowl.

Andi s-a uitat pe fereastra camerei sale noi.

Nu vedea nici un cire n grdin.

Am o idee! a exclamat Andi.

Voi desena un cire i l voi lipi pe perete!

In his new room, Andy looked out of the window.

No cherry tree grew outside. I know what to do! Andy said. IIl paint a cherry tree and put it on my wall.

e-i cu desenul acesta? a ntrebat mama. De ce ai desenat pomul acela? Pentru c mi-e dor de cireul meu! a rspuns Andi. Mi-e tare dor! tiai c cireul tu a crescut dintr-un smbure ca acetia?
l-a ntrebat mama. Vrei s spui c dac pun unul n pmnt, va crete din el un cire? a ntrebat Andi. Da, a spus mama.

Why are you painting that tree? Because I miss my cherry tree! said Andy. I miss it a lot! Did you know that your little cherry tree grew from one of these little pits? she asked. Does that mean if I plant one it will grow into a cherry tree? Andy asked. Mama nodded.

n ecare groap, Andi a pus un smbure de cire i l-a acoperit cu pmnt. Apoi a udat pmntul.

They dug little holes.

In each hole Andy carefully placed a cherry pit and covered it with dirt. Then he watered the dirt.

Andi a nchis ochii i a adormit.

By bedtime, Andy felt tired and happy.

I will have a cherry tree again, he said. Andy closed his eyes and fell asleep.

A visat o grdin plin de cirei.

Vrbiue i fceau cuib pe crengile pomilor, iar Andi culegea ciree coapte i le punea n co. Acesta a fost primul su vis n casa cea nou.

He dreamed of a garden full of cherry trees.

Sparrows were building nests in the branches of the trees, and Andy was picking ripe cherries and putting them into his basket. It was his rst dream in his new house!
