Shelach Lekha

This weeks Torah Portion, Shelach Lekha/Send for Yourself, covers Numbers 13:1-15:41. It is one of the most unsettling passages as it relates the events that follow the spies being sent into the Promised Land, the evil report that is brought back, and then the declaration of the death of an entire generation! Everything from Egypt was building up to the moment when Israel would go in and possess their inheritance, but their choices within this parshah lead to thirty eight more years of wandering, to make a total of 40 years spent in the Wilderness. As the parshah comes to a close, the focus seems to totally change as the commands concerning the fringes/tzitzits is shared. Two seemingly unconnected passages tied together, yet within the Hebrew language a clear thread runs through causing the tzitzits to take on a new meaning! Numbers 13:1-3 Send: Strongs #7971 shalach to send, send away, let go, stretch out, to divorce *The first reference of this word deals with Adam & Eve being sent/divorced from the Garden Men: Strongs #582 enowsh man, mortal man, person, mankind; from #605 anash to be weak, sick, frail; Enowsh is a term that emphasizes the fallen condition of man and his potential for wickedness Gematria = 357, same as Strongs #1317 boshnah shame; from the root buwsh to put to shame, be ashamed. The gematria of send/shalach = 338, same as lebuwsh clothing, garment, wife The beginning of the parshah sheds light upon the state of Israel/the Bride. She has been in this state of divorce, sent out from the intimate place, because she was prone to wickedness. Because of this, her covering/garment was one of shame she was a wife put to shame by being sent out. But as they are preparing to enter into the Land House of their Groom this garment of shame/wickedness is to be let go/put off from her! This is supposed to be a changing of garments taking place. What is she changing in to? The key is seen in the action they are sent to do in the land, search: Strongs #8446 tuwr to seek, search out, spy out, explore Cognate of this word is #8447 towr 1 )succession, order, turn (describes how the women were brought by turns before the King in the book of Esther) 2) ornaments, earrings, describes jewelry worn by

a bride for beauty *This change of garments is necessary because as they enter the land, it is the Bride being paraded before the King, it is her turn to come before Him. Therefore she must adorn herself and prepare so she can be seen as one who is fit and an eligible Bride! This is why the expedition takes place from Paran! Paran: Strongs #6290 Paran place of caverns; from #6286 paar to glorify, beautify, adorn; cognate of #6287 peer head-dress, ornament, turban, wedding tiara This is a testing process to see if she (Israel) is ready to receive her wedding crown! It is no coincidence that this term for search/tuwr also forms the 3 letter root for the word Torah the difference is that Torah has the suffix added, meaning to be fruitful. If they are to be seen as a fit Bride, it will be because they have removed the garments of shame and donned the Torah, which will cause them to be fruitful and grow within this relationship. It is the same pattern seen within the lives of Abraham and Sarah! They have the added to their name as well showing they were ones who changed their garments and become fruitful via the Torah! The same opportunity is now available for Israel as they prepare to cross into the land (via the Jordan River the place where one becomes a Hebrew). Within the word tuwr/search the term uwr is seen. Genesis 15:7 And he said unto him, I [am] YHVH that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it. Ur: Strongs #218 Uwr flame; in order to be a fit bridal candidate and have the King to be pleased with you, it requires you to leave Ur, the false light/flame just as Abraham and Sarah did, then you will have the of Torah added to you! This is also the only way you gain access to the land the inheritance hinges upon leaving Ur/the false light! Chaldees: Strongs #3778 Kasdiy clod breakers prefix = like/as; = Shaddai; = who? This false light is also the location where there is one who is impersonating like/as El Shaddai! *This same individual will play an important role in the pattern thats developing concerning them entering the land! Part of the test to see if they have indeed left the false light is presented to the spies in the same manner that Adam & Eve were tested! Numbers 13:20 Bring: Strongs #3947 laqach

marry, take as a wife/in marriage Fruit: Strongs #6529 periy fruit Gematria = 290, same as the name Miriam represents the rebellious adulterous wife!

This statement echoes the events of the Garden when Adam & Eve partake of the wrong fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, therefore sent out (shalach) in order to prevent them from also eating of the Tree of Life. Genesis 3:22 and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take (laqach) also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever At the point when the bride put on the garment of shame by compromising herself, she is denied access to this fruit. Yet here, we now see the rebellious adulterous Bride commanded to take the fruit commanded to enter into this marriage covenant that will bring her life! Now in the Garden we see 2 trees specifically spoken of, 2 fruits. If this same pattern is being followed here concerning the land, then the testing of the bride will come again concerning what fruit she chooses! The spies take the fruit from a very specific place, Numbers 13:23-24 Brook: Strongs #5158 nachal torrent, valley, wadi, palm-tree; from #5157 nachal to get as a possession, acquire, inherit, or possess Eshcol: Strongs #812 Eshkol cluster; from #810 eshek term that refers to the male anatomy that houses the seed Compound word: Esh = Fire & Kol = All All the fire *Remember uwr meant flame!

The specific fruit taken is listed as well: grapes (used figuratively to represent blood), pomegranates (known for their seed, in the Temple pomegranates decorated the tops of the pillars representing the loins of the man), and figs (pointing to the false covering Adam & Eve cover themselves with from the Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil). The exact scenario of the Garden plays out again with these spies! Because they attempt to inherit the land with all the fire not leaving the false light or removing themselves from it, but incorporating it in instead of being able to present themselves as a virtuous bridal candidate, their blood has already been spilt (virginity lost) because they have once again accepted the seed of the serpent (one who impersonates as El Shaddai) and eaten of the wrong fruit! And just like the pattern this fruit (figs) are brought into the Holy Place/intimate place Kadesh (Numbers 13:26) causing them to lose access.

*Because the adulterous bride chooses the wrong fruit, she accepts death instead of life! Numbers 20:1 and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there and was buried there. The same place where she brings in the seed of the serpent is where the rebellious woman (Miriam) dies. By looking at the names of the spies who bring back the evil report, the same scenario plays out as well showing what happens when we attempt to mix the false flame and bring the impersonator into the intimate place of our true husband. o Reuben Shammua renowned; from the root shamem to be desolate o Simeon Shaphat judged o Issachar Igal He redeems o Benjamin Palti my deliverance o Zebulun Gaddiel My fortune is god o Manasseh Gaddi my fortune o Dan Ammiel my kinsman is God o Asher Sethur hidden o Naphtali Nahbi hidden (from the root meaning to withdraw) o Gad Geuel majesty of God Making the intimate place desolate (shammua) caused the Bride to be judged (shaphat) by the one who redeemed (igal) and delivered (palti) her. Because she declared My fortune is god (gaddiel/gaddi) accepting the false Shaddai her kinsman redeemer (ammiel) and the majesty of God/YHVH (geuel) is withdrawn (nahbi) and hidden (sethur) from her. Its the exact same pattern in the Garden as well! The Glory of YHVH lifts off of Adam & Eve the moment they compromise as well. By the way, none of these names have the letter none chose to apply the Torah to their lives and because of that they compromise.

The Tzitzits
Numbers 15:38-39 From the English this seems to have nothing to do with the prior events of the evil report brought by the spies, yet in the Hebrew its linked together! Fringe: Strongs #6734 tsiytsith fringe, tassel, lock; from #6731 tsiyts flower, bloom, feather, wing Gematria = 190, same as Canaan the land the spies are sent in to search out!

Borders: Strongs #3671 kanaph wing, extremity, edge, border, corner, shirt; from #3670 kanaph to be hidden from view, be cornered, be thrust aside Garments: Strongs #899 beged

The tzitzits become a reminder of not only the commandments, but of the fact that when the Bride was brought before her Husband (spies searching out Canaan), His glory was hidden from view (kanaph) because she came in the clothing of treachery and deceit (beged)! Vs. 39 that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring Seek: Strongs #8446 tuwr same word used to describe the spies sent to search the land! Heart: Strongs #3824 lebab heart, inner man, mind, soul, understanding *Backwards it spells Babel same local also known as Chaldea (Ur of the Chaldees). Their heart was still towards the false light! There was no way the bridal crown (the land) could be given to them while still in this state. This is why the tzitzits come on the heels of the evil report of the spies! The Bride is exposed as one who is compromised, unable to go any further while she remains this way, and is need of a covering! So she is given the tzitzits with a ribband of blue. Ribband: Strongs #6616 pathiyl cord, thread 2 letter root secret parts (specifically of the woman) shes exposed, made naked and ashamed, but the tzitzits cover her! Blue: Strongs #8504 tekeleth blue; from #7827 shecheleth onycha; from #7826 shachal lion *Notice the similarity between shachal lion and the name of this portion shelach same letters, different order. By putting on the tzitzits, the Bride goes from one ashamed, divorced, and exposed and is now one who is covered by the Lion!
