A synopsis of my personal spatial practice in terms of colour, within reality and the non-reality, all of which will be expressed

in statements. Everything I find myself interacting with is built up of matter that is expressed in various colours. I find myself in a world where colours dominate my life, from reading signs on the road to seeing if fruit is ripe enough to eat. Colour matters. The choice of the colour space can be a very important decision, which can dramatically influence the results of the processing. The knowledge of various colour spaces can ease the choice of the appropriate colour space. Colour is simply: the light of different wavelengths and frequencies. Each colour has its own particular wavelength and frequency. Each colour can be measured in units of cycles or waves per second. Therefore, particular colours can be used to describe the distances traveled during regular journeys. Colour exist for humans as definitions by its attributes: hue and colorfulness, which gives life to life, in simple terms. Space and therefore life would be in comprehenable without the interaction of colour. The unreality, technological utopia, describes a colour using the amounts of red, green and blue phosphor emission required to match a colour. Yet the colours I view through technology can appear more realistic than if I had to view it in a real life situation. Ah, technological utopia, a common means in which hegemony is instilled on the population, in colour.

Colour is light and light is just one form of energy that we can actually see. We are all surrounded by electromagnetic waves of energy of which colour is just a small part. It seems to be well established that physical space has no reality without the energy that is deployed within it. [The Production Of Space, Lefebvre, Pg 13] I then find it safe to say, that physical space and its reality is formed, partially, because of colour. Henri Lefebvre talks about the difference between representations of space (planned, controlled, ordered space) and representational space (appropriated, lived space; space-in-use). Light is an essential element in both: It puts representations of space on display, and supports the use of representational space. I find that a dark building is a dead building, without energy in the form of either colour or electricity therefore what is left of the building but the known fact that the building was created for a purpose that fits into western capitalism. The spaces I inhabit are just empty spaces; I find that a list the space according to how I remember the colours, brings the spaces to life. Though the colours shall be named not according to their title but their Hex triplet. A hex triplet is a six-digit, three-byte hexadecimal number used in HTML, CSS, SVG, and other computing applications, to represent colors [Wikipedia] My room has been a shade of #FCF75E, for about 5 years. My education now finds itself surrounded by a logo that to me is a #FF0800,

this logo has drowned my life. A space that I never inhabit involves #0095B6 and lots of grains of sands that include the shade #E1A95F. It is not possible to name each space and its colour or its involvement in hegemony; only brief examples can be given. Shades of colours are so numerous; it makes me smile, whilst I walk in and out of different spaces. Color is sensibility in material form, matter in its primordial state. Yves Klein
