Parishioners
Many Thanks to all who helped to make our celebrations of Confirmation and First Holy Communion such
special occasions this week. Please continue to pray for our young people (and their families) that they may
continue to grow in love of the Lord and follow his paths.
Welcome : We welcome into God’s family George Matthew John Tibbins who will be baptised following
Mass on Sunday. “The Christian Community welcomes you with great joy.”
Let Us Pray the Mass : This week we consider the purpose of the Liturgy of the Word by focusing on the
Homily, the Creed and the Prayers of Intercession. The two stories of St Augustine remind us of the impact
the living Word of God is to have in our lives, and the fact that even saints are not immune from liturgical pot
- holes!
Quarant Ore : Next weekend is the feast of Corpus Christi and we will mark this great feast with 40 hours of
devotion before the Blessed Sacrament, beginning with Mass on Friday evening at 7.00pm. (Please Note : NO
9.00am Mass) and ending with Solemn Benediction at 3pm on Sunday afternoon. There is a Watching List at
the back of church. Please fill in the times you will be able to come and spend some time before the Blessed
Sacrament.
Please Note: that Mass on Tuesday morning will begin at 9.15am when the children from Our Lady’s School
will join us for a Mass of Thanksgiving following their First Holy Communion.
Flower Arranging
will take place, for this week only, at 2pm in the Presbytery.
Agape Meal : We will be joined by our friends from Holy Trinity and the Independent Methodists on
Wednesday evening for the Agape meal which will be held in the Parish Centre. Tickets (£3) are available after
Mass this weekend. Please remember to bring your own cutlery and drinks!
Ladywell Pilgrimage ; a coach will leave St Wilfrid’s at 12 noon on Saturday 25 June. To book a seat, please
phone the Parish Office on 866102. There is no charge but a donation is requested towards the cost.
Appeal for Helpers :Across Trust are looking for volunteers to help sick pilgrims travel by Jumbulance on the
following dates : 28 July-6 Aug; 18-27 Aug;8-17 Sept; 13-22 Oct; 20-29 Oct. If interested, please contact www.

Last week’s collection ;
Gift Aid : £387.87
Loose Plate : £501.92
Total : £889.79.
I gratefully acknowledge receipt of a donation of £200 in memory of the late Jessie Smith.

Question of the Week : We live within the Trinity whenever we live in love. How does this mystery connect
to your daily life?
