Motionlesselectromagneticgenerator

An electromagnetic generator without moving parts includes a permanent magnet and a magnetic core includingfirstandsecondmagneticpaths.Afirstinputcoil andafirstoutputcoilextendaroundportionsofthefirst magnetic path, while a second input coil and a second outputcoilextendaroundportionsofthesecondmagnetic path. The input coils are alternatively pulsed to provide inducedcurrentpulsesintheoutputcoils.Drivingelectrical currentthrougheachoftheinputcoilsreducesalevelof fluxfrom the permanent magnet within the magnet path around which the input coil extends. In an alternative embodimentofanelectromagneticgenerator, themagnetic coreincludesannularspacedapartplates, withpostsand permanent magnets extending in an alternating fashion betweentheplates.Anoutputcoilextendsaroundeachof these posts. Input coils extending around portions of the platesarepulsedtocausetheinductionofcurrentwithin theoutputcoils.

A permanent magnet is positioned in middle of the magnetic core. A permanent magnet furnishes magnetic flux lines moving from the north pole outward into the core material, resultinginarightandaleftmagneticpath.Thesepaths extend externally between the north and south magnetic poles.Adrivingelectricalcurrentthrougheachoftheinput coilsreducesalevelofmagneticfluxfromthepermanent magnetwithinthemagnetpatharoundwhichtheinputcoil extends. Introduction

halfofthepowercreated. TheMEG'smagneticcoreiscomposedofamagnetic alloy (of crystalline grains (or crystallite) of a few nanometers).Theseareusedbecauseofthematerial'srapid switchingofmagneticfluxcharacteristics.Eachcrystallite isa singledomainparticleinmagneticterms.Oneofthe magneticmaterialspreferredisthealloyofcobaltniobium boron; this alloy has a nearzero magnetostriction and relatively strong magnetization. This alloy also has a relatively high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.Othermagneticmaterialsacceptabletobeused can be ironrich amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys. These materials exhibit a greater magnetization than the cobalt based alloys. An example of this alloy material would be ironboronsiliconniobiumcopper. Though the permeabilityofthisalloyislimitedbyitsrelativelylarge levels of magnetostriction, the formation of a nanocrystallinematerialdramaticallyreducesthislevelof magnetostrictionandfavorseasymagnetizationInitially,a sensingandswitchingcircuitconnectstheswitchingand controlcircuittoanexternalpowersource.Externalpower sourcescaninclude, butarenotlimitedto,a battery. The "switchingandcontrolcircuit"isconnectedtoanoscillator driver that is the clock input of a flipflop circuit. The alternateoutputs(QandQ')oftheflipflopareconnected through independent driver circuits; such circuits can includea darlingtonpair ora oneshot circuit.TheFETs alternately drive the input 'choking' coils. After this switching event, the electromagnetic generator operates without an application of external power. It is notablethat, accordingtothepatent, duringoperationof theMEGtheinputcoilsare neverdriventothepointthat thecorematerialbecomessaturated.Ifthecorematerialis saturated, subsequent increases in input current that do occur have no corresponding effect in the magnetic flux andinputpoweriswasted.IntheMEG,theswitchingof current flow within the input coils does not need to be sufficienttostoptheflowoffluxinoneofthemagnetic paths while promoting the flow of magnetic flux in the othermagneticpath.Theelectromagneticgeneratorworks by changing the flux pattern; it does not need to be completelyswitchedfromonesidetoanother.
