EXPERIMENT ON. 1 Title: - CIM MODEL FOR ANY INDUSTRY Objective: - To provide proper interfacing between theoretical aspects (covered in the classroom) The above experiment is done in two parts. Parts I includes the background theory of CIM System. Part II actual visit to any industry to see and study the different aspects of CIM system practically. Details of parts I This will cover the following points a) Introduction to CIM b) Evolution of CIM c) Segments of CIM: Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing and Computer Controlled Business Functions d) Study of existing CIM Models Details of part II: This will cover the report write up on their visit explaining the system covering the above points and comments on that. It should include company profile, products, market share, turnover, number of employees, etc. Study should contain Layout of the company, manufacturing flow diagram, information processing cycle and the CIM model of the company.

EXPERIMENT NO. 2 Title: - MANUAL PART PROGRAMMING ON CNC LATHE, MILLING

AND DRILLING.
Objective: - Introduction to G- codes, M Codes, etc and formulating it in to a part program using manual part programming Techniques. Content: 1) NC technology 2) CNC components 3) Part programming techniques 4) Manual part programming technique. 5) Tape formats 6) NC words 7) Interpretation of codes 8) Usage of codes 9) Formulation of part program 10) Formulation are expected a) Compete sketch with Dimensions b) Formulation of complete part program

EXPERIMENTS ON. 3 Title: - SIMULATION ON CNC LATHE. Objective: - To translate the part program into actual working on CNC Lathe machine. Contents: 1) Description of codes 2) Description of codes 3) Directives 4) At least five programs covering basics operations a) Full facing b) Plain Turing c) Step and Taper Turing Title: - SIMULATION ON CNC MILLING. Objective: - To translate the part program into actual working on CNC milling machine. Contents: 1) Description of M codes 2) Description of code 3) Directives 4) At least five programs covering basics operations a) Liner Interpolation b) Circular Interpolation

EXPERIMENT NO. 4 Title: - STUDY AND DEMONSTRATION ON ROBOT. Objective: - To get acquainted with modern industrial of Robotics and its applications apart from basics of robotics it gives complete ideas of usage of robots in hazardous conditions also. Contents: 1) Introduction to Cybernetics 2) Robot Anatomy 3) Joints and Links 4) Common Robot configurations 5) Drive System 6) End Effectors 7) Types of sensors 8) Robot programming 9) Reliability maintenance and safety of Robot 10) Robot Economics 11) Robot applications in manufacturing Students should highlight the theory with neat sketches.

EXPERIMENT NO. 5 Title: - COMPUTER AIDED PROCESS PLANNING. Objective: - Collecting & studying the latest information on Generation of Manufacturing sequence (Process Plan) using design information in computer for a given part in order to have quality product. Contents: 1) Traditional Process plan. 2) Introduction to Computer Aided Process Plan (CAPP). 3) Types of CAPP a) Variant b) Generative 4) Algorithm for process planning software 5) Benefits of CAPP. 6) One recent paper on Case Study of CAPP.

EXPERIMENT NO. 6 Title: - EXERCISE ON GROUP TECHNOLOGY, PART CODING. Objective: - To get acquainted with Group technology philosophy and part family concept through practical examples. Contents: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7)

Introduction to GT Concept of Part Family. Methods of grouping part into part family Parts classification and Coding. Opitz classification and coding system. Benefits of GT. Two Examples on FORM code

EXPERIMENT NO. 7 Title: - COMPUTER AIDED QUALITY CONTROL. Objective: - To study automated inspection principles and various methods of carrying out the quality control function.
