SUPPLEMENTAL DATA SHEET

Please provide concrete and concise examples from previous experiences to help us understand your capabilities better. Experiences can be drawn from university, internship, community and previous work experience, among others. 1. Tell us about the time you put in the most extra effort to achieve outstanding results in a project or an area of responsibility. How did the need for extra effort arise and what did you do? Why did you go above and beyond the call of duty?

There are numerous instances where I put in my most extra effort to achieve outstanding results. One of these instances was when I spearheaded the Intramurals team of our department as the College Sports Coordinator. The need for extra effort aroused when we lack manpower to fuel the needs of the team. I even became the "water boy" of our team to ensure the success of the said event. I did go "above and beyond" the call of duty because it is my passion to serve our department who entrusted me such a hard but honorable responsibility.

2. Describe the most challenging goal you were able to accomplish that you are most proud of. encountered and what did you do to address them? Why do you consider this the most challenging?

What were the difficulties you

The most challenging goal I was able to accomplish was establishing a regional organization for Computer Engineering Students and Professionals. Lack of funds, lack of leadership experience and minimal manpower were just some of the difficulties I encountered. I was able to address these problems by formulating effective solutions by working together with my officers, committees and volunteers. I consider this the most challenging because it required me to effectively use not only my intellect but also my interpersonal skills which was one of the skills you cannot learn in the four corners of the classroom.

3. Describe a recent experience where you were a part of a team whose members had conflicting ideas or viewpoints. What did you do to ensure that this did not affect the team and how did the conflict impact the teams goals and objectives?

One of my recent experiences with being part of a team with conflicting ideas was when I was serving in the College Student Council as the Internal Vice President. Some of us have conflicting ideas in the way the budget of the council should be spent. A lot of times, conflicts arose when the issue on the practicality of a certain expense was brought up during a meeting. I always consider the ideas of all the members of the council especially when I see that their ideas may practically contribute to the realization of the goals of the council. These conflicts impact the team positively such that with conflicting ideas we are able to weigh and consider which is the best way to realize our objectives as a team.

4. What was the most difficult project or task you had that you had to complete within a short timeframe? What challenges or obstacles did you have to overcome and what did you do about them?
The most difficult task I was able to complete within a short timeframe was my undergraduate design prototype. Lack of knowledge and experience in my chosen project were the challenges I had to overcome by intensive data gathering and analysis.

5. Give us an example of a situation where you led a group that contributed significant accomplishments/results. How did you get their commitment to share the same goal or vision? What did you do to meet or exceed your goals?

Leading our local Computer Engineering Society back in 2009 showed and contributed significant accomplishments and was even awarded for having accomplished 100% of its proposed activities. I was able to get my team's commitment by showing them the importance of our responsibility as an officer through responsible work ethic. I always did my best to stay mentally, physically and emotionally focused in order to meet or even exceed the goals of the organization.

6. Tell us about a time when you were able to develop a good working relationship with an individual or a team. What did you do to establish this good working relationship? How is this different from the other relationships you have established?
When I started to work as the President of the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines Bicol Regional Chapter, I was able to establish a good working relationship with my co-officers from other institutions. I was able to establish this working relationship by being able to define the boundaries of a friendly relationship over a working relationship. This in some way different since we need to have a focused mindset to successfully accomplish a task while maintaining a healthy relationship with co-workers.
