Key highlights of a few innovative projects at entry, 2010


PHI: Social Protection Support project

- Bank accounts are opened in womens names; cash transfers at


hours convenient to women and in culturally acceptable conditions; training on citizenship and rights, leadership, domestic violence, child care, etc; targets 70% male attendance in family development sessions on gender responsive family practices

LAO: Technical Vocational Education and Training

Project - Addressed issues of access and affordability, occupational


segregation and gender discrimination in TVET, gender imbalances in academic staff in non-traditional fields, alignment of womens skills with labour market needs and womens entry in non-traditional trades.
