here are thousands of helpful and entertaining resources available online and on television. So many that it would be impossible for our editors to discover them all on their own. Thats why delight! magazine is built with the help of its readers. The delight! reader community continually shares their favorite websites and TV shows, plus tips and opinions from their own experiences. Here are some favorites we encourage you to check out this month:

ne of my favorite shows is Work of Art: The Next Great Artist. I think its a great show to have a variety of artists get noticed if they havent been already. I love art so it was great that Bravo put a show like that on TV.

Sarah Lasagni, Kingston, NY

ight now Im absolutely loving the first season of Warehouse 13 On Demand. I was thrilled to come across it because I initially missed it when it was first on Syfy. Its such a great and humorous show with mystery at every step. Pete and Mykas interactions always cheer me up when Im feeling down. Oh, and who cant love a warehouse full of artifacts like Lewis Carrolls mirror and Studio 54s disco ball? Definitely one of the best shows on TV.

Valerie Cirilo, Glendale, NY

y favorite website hands down is Zappos.com. I love their offerings when it comes to stylefrom dresses, to cute shoes, to cuter handbags. The prices range from high-end to ultra affordable so there is something for every budget and its free shipping all the time.

- Reader from Staten Island, NY

y favorite TV show would have to be anything on HGTV, but if I had to pick one it would be Bang For Your Buck. This show is the best, mainly because I am a decorator at heart and for my profession. I studied at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) and went to Fashion High in the 60s and its great to see that television has a network such as HGTV which is a platform for designers and even those that arent. This show can recreate any room for an amazing price thats affordable and creative. And they give you a step-by-step DIY kind of feel.

often enjoy checking out JuicyTuesdays channel on YouTube. Ive always wanted someone to take the time out to explain helpful techniques like how to blow dry my hair, apply certain styles of makeup, etc. She is helpful and is often funny.

Sharing Has Its Rewards!

Reader from Staten Island, NY

y favorite TV show at the moment is What Not to Wear on TLC. I enjoy watching this show because it boosts peoples confidence and helps them feel better about themselves by helping them add style and color to their wardrobes.

Kami, St.Albans, NY
love the TED mobile phone app. The TED talks are 18 minutes long only and the individuals who give the talks are well-educated authors, scholars, scientists, artists, etc. They come from all the disciplines. They are entertaining, original and educational. I used to watch it online but then was thrilled that they made an app.

Judy Strauss, Staten Island, NY

y favorite TV show is Leverage on TNT. The things I like most about this show are the characters. They are five misfits with interesting (and sometimes bizarre) skills, who have been brought together to right injustices inflicted upon the common citizen by large corporate, government or criminal machines. Despite their quirky natures, they work together and always get the job done.

Angie Harmon talks about the humor of Rizzoli & Isles.

Harmon playing her role of Detective Jane Rizzoli opposite Sasha Alexander, who plays Medical Examiner Maura Isles in TNTs dramatic series Rizzoli & Isles. Getting back to work on her new cop series only proves how tough, physical and unglamorous Harmon can be on and off the screen. A re-injured herniated disc has challenged the actress usual activity so that today marked her entre into exercise after several months of being sidelined. The first time I hurt my back was during my first pregnancy, she flatly states in her trademark husky voice still lilting with a tinge of Southern propriety. The second was a short time ago when we moved into our new house and I couldnt just sit on the couch, pointing and telling people what to do. So today I took it really slow because I dont ever want to go through that pain again. Prior to the injury, Angie and family would do regular swimming sessions, trampoline jumping and walks. Im going to get back into all that as soon as I can. this is a life lesson for me in that I should never miss an opportunity because of what I was afraid might happen. I took that to heart and I never have done that again. And what if one of her three adorable daughters got an opportunity to follow in their moms footsteps? Well, Id definitely put them more in the acting direction because its a longer, more substantial, fun career something you are consistently learning from. With that being said, she adds, There was a time in my life when I was becoming bored with my modeling because I was too young to appreciate it. Okay, Im standing on the Great Wall of China, fabulous, lets go and never thinking I might never be back to that place again. The self-described energetic, courageous and insecure woman is shooting her TV series in Los Angeles, which means long separations from family. Thats the most difficult challenge I have because I have to juggle everything and hope Im doing it right. When Im shooting, its about 90 hours a week and I dont get to see my family as much as Id like to. By the time youve gone on your fourth or fifth week and youve seen your kids a total of a week, thats pretty tough. Im hoping we can change that a little so I can fly home late Thursday night and back to L.A. on Sunday night. Creating small adjustments in life can make every day more amazing. And will we see any changes to Jane Rizzoli this season? Well, I dont know if I can do all the stunts I did last yearI did almost all of my ownbecause I dont want to injure my L-4/L-5 again. But Im a pretty physical person and I enjoy the hell out of life so its hard for me to stay still.

Getting back to work on her new cop series only proves how tough, physical, and unglamorous Harmon can be on and off the screen.
Three children and two dogs always makes for a busy household, which is why Harmon moved 3,000 miles away from bustling Hollywood to live at a much slower pace and raise her daughters. As a former professional model who got her first cover at age 15 and traveled the world extensively, Harmon is keenly aware of the importance of a more leisurely lifestyle, where becoming famous is not the daily ambition of neighbors and friends. Now playing Monday morning quarterback, is there anything Angie would have done differently? Absolutely, she states. I had an appointment with Eric Clapton to sing as one of his back-up singers when I was twenty-one. His drummer was a friend of mine and set it up, but I didnt go because I was so nervous that I would be awful. I saw the drummer later on, apologized and asked if we could reschedule. To Angies surprise, her friend said no. And he went on to say

The Lincoln Lawyer Matthew McConaughey is whipsmart defense lawyer Mick Haller in this legal thriller based on Michael Connellys page-turner. Haller knows all the loopholes. That he uses his skills on clients who are less than reputable is part of his sleazy charm. Its a tailor-made role for McConaughey, who walks a fine line between being a guy through whom we live vicariously as he make suckers of everybody, and one whom wed also like to see get his comeuppance. Enter Ryan Phillippe as Louis Roulet, who claims he is being framed in the vicious beating of a prostitute. The Lincoln Lawyer benefits from a stellar supporting cast including William H. Macy as Hallers private eye buddy, Marisa Tomei as his ex-wife, Francis Fischer as Louies mother, John Leguizamo as a bail bondsman, Bryan Cranston as a homicide detective, and country star Trace Adkins as a motorcycle gang leader who keeps Haller busy. The title refers to Hallers mode of transportation, a Lincoln from whose back seat he conducts business while being chauffeured around town. The Lincoln Lawyer, however, puts McConaughey back in the drivers seat. This looks like the beginning of a beautiful franchise. Rated R. Rango Johnny Depp has always been sort of a chameleon, so who better to give voice to a lizard who becomes the Wild Wests unlikeliest hero in this gorgeous CGI western? Directed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean), Rango boasts an A-list cast and a script brimming with edgy humor and affectionate references to a frontier of Hollywood classics. Our Hawaiian shirt-clad hero is a domesticated lizard who struts on the stage that is his terrarium. His life takes a detour when the terrarium is accidentally tossed from the family car while driving through the desert. Guided by a visionary armadillo (Alfred Molina), he makes his way to the aptly named town of Dirt, where the late sheriff has been enshrined on a tombstone that reads THURSSAT. Taking the name Rango, he passes himself off as a fearsome gunfighter, and after some inadvertent heroics, he gets the job. But there are conspiracies afoot and Rango will have to live up to his unearned reputation. Rangos slapstick action and menagerie of colorful, grotesque creatures will delight children, though much of the savvy dialogue may go over their heads. Rated PG. Paul Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are arguably the movies best comedy team. They look funny together, sound funny (those British accents) and are exceedingly clever with an encyclopedic fanboy knowledge and appreciation for American popular culture. Paul transplants these true Brits to American soil where Graeme (Pegg) and Clive (Frost) have embarked on the ultimate geek excursion to Comic Con and UFO Mecca Area 51. Enroute they meet Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen), a foul-mouthed extraterrestrial who has escaped his military captors after spending the last 60 years under their watchful study. Graeme and Clive race against time to deliver Paul to his ship and away from his captors. Along the way, they kidnap Ruth (Kristen Wiig), a religious fundamentalist whose world is rocked by Paul. Listen closely for the voices of Steven Spielberg and Sigourney Weaver, whose E.T. and iconic Ripley characters, respectively, loom large in Peggs and Frosts sci-fi obsessions. Sci-fi buffs will get a kick out of the references to films and TV shows both obvious and obscure. Paul is not on par with Peggs and Frosts late lamented TV series, Spaced or Shaun of the Dead but its a close enough encounter. Rated R. Another Year Writer-director Mike Leigh (Secrets & Lies, Happy-Go-Lucky) works wonders with his actors, but thats to be expected when youre working with such wonderful actors as Jim Broadbent, Ruth Sheen and a heartbreaking Lesley Manville, whose indelible performances were informed by Leighs method of scripting through intense character improvisation. Broadbent and Sheen star as Tom and Gerri, a happily and long-married 60-something couple. As a year unfolds, they serve as an anchor for the less settled and less content family and friends who revolve around them. Chief among them is Manvilles painfully lonely and clinging Mary, who is not the glass-full sort of girl, she claims to be. Another Year is one of Leighs bleak comedies (Lifes not always kind, is it? is one of its wry observations). Dont come for jokes, set pieces, or conventional plot developments. Nothing much happens in the traditional movie sense. Instead, bask in the company of this extraordinary ensemble who dont so much play these characters as inhabit them. Rated PG-13.

A Mans Quest for Fashion

By Jake Siater

Everything from style basics to the latest fashion trends can be found online.
There is an incredible amount of personal resources on the Webyou just have to know where to find them.
- J.L. from Brooklyn, NY

I HAVE A CONFESSION. My wifes closet bewilders me. From the five pairs of black heelsall necessary,
Im toldto the earrings, dry-clean-only suits, purses and scarvesit all seems so much to remember just for getting dressed every day. Dont get me wrong. My wife always looks great. Im just not that kind of guy. Ive got the basics down and manage to pull myself together well enough to avoid arrest by the fashion police. To really add some polish, though, requires two things: me admitting I need a little help, and a few well chosen websites. Turns out there are other guys like melots of them, in fact who are also lacking a couture consciousness. And there are just as many who enjoy dressing in the latest styles, not to mention the fashion trendsetters. The Internet has plenty to offer addressing topics many men feel foolish asking. So next time youre re-assessing your own fashion sense, impress those around you by appearing as though youve conjured a sense of style all on your own! Check out these three sites created by men for men that can guide you to your more fashionable self.

Style 101 for Beginners: GuyStyleGuide.com

My first stop was GuyStyleGuide.com, where I was promised to be guided through the tricky world of male fashion without designer babble and reports on outrageous catwalk shows. The site contains tons of articles addressing all kinds of practical stufffrom growing a beard to rocking a tux, to just a little beyond the basics, like telling the difference between a medium and fair complexion (I never knew there was a difference!). There is a lot to take in on the site, but its all easily categorized: clothing, grooming, haircare, and miscellaneous. Under those tabs: Easy-to-understand articles written in ordinary language, for ordinary guys. One of the things I like best about GuyStyleGuide.com is the Q&A Quickie feature. Its just like it soundsa short-and-sweet answer to a blog question asked about a recent article or related topic. I found the easiest way to find all of the Q&A Quickies was to search the site for quickie. Try it and youll get all the posts on all kinds of guy stuff.

Color Yourself Successful

GuyStyleGuide.com has these basic tips to pairing the right tie to the correct business occasion.

A Job Interview: Tie should be plain, conservative red or blue; theyre a non-distracting yet elegant match. For a lead position, go for red as it has connotations of power and influence. If applying for a subordinate position, stick to blue as its an indicator of stability and reliability.

An Important Presentation: Golden yellow radiates energy and liveliness but doesnt pull focus away. Avoid busy patterns.

A High Impact Event: Nothing makes a statement like a splash of pink. Eyes will be drawn straight toward the fuchsia, but for all the right reasons.

Beyond the Basics: EveryGuyed.com

Bolstered by my newly found fashion knowledge, I ventured into more advanced style territory, namely EveryGuyed.com. This site definitely ramps up the male fashion advice. There is a thorough discussion about the basics, as well as more in-depth exploration of accessories, seasonal trends, and a category called Upkeep, which includes everything from taking care of neckties to leather care and proper shoe selection. The How To tab really delves into the specifics. As the name implies, you can learn how to buy stuff, dress appropriately, and find trendy staples, not to mention access nifty miscellaneous tips. How To makes digesting the info on the site fast and straightforward. The quirkiest thing I found on EveryGuyed.com was the Dress the Part feature under the Lookbook tab. This section reviews classic movies from a clothing perspective. Theres the fraternity fashion of Animal House, the no-nonsense attire of Its a Wonderful Life, and the rock star statement looks from Fight Club, among others, that are sure to rekindle memories and spark your imagination.

If youre able, always skew to the more casual side. If not, go with an outfit you wear often because you know it looks good.

Dont tempt yourself to linger. When showering, turn the water on to soak yourself, off to lather up, and back on to rinse. This will create a sense of urgency.

Invest in an eye moisturizer, because theyre the place that a lack of sleep is most apparent.

If you have time to shave (or need to), then by all means use a brand new razor blade.

One of Those Mornings

Take a cue from EveryGuyed.com and use these quick tips the next time you oversleep.

Fashion-Forward: FashionBeans.com
Im probably not the target demographic for the fashion-forward FashionBeans.com, but in the interest of research I ventured onto the site. Seeing all of the industry talk and brand name banter verified I was out of my league, but FashionBeans.com is perfect for trendsetters, industry insiders and those who live-andbreathe all things stylish. There are three unique features on the site that take style to a higher hipster level: Hairstyles cuts to the chase on celebrity locks, the latest dos, salon services and other hairy situations. The second mustclick is the Mens Style Icon section under the Style tab. Here, anyone from novices like me to the pros can gain an understanding of whos making news in the fashion world. I found a helpful little nugget under the Style tab called What is Timeless Style? It listed several tried and true classics that should always be in every mans closet.

The Leather Jacket: Its understated, can be worn with just about anything casual, and is the symbol of cool.

The Blazer: A versatile piece that can dress up or dress down. Choose black for anytime wear, navy for warmer weather, and grey for cooler.

The Polo Shirt: Referred to as the love child of the shirt and t-shirt, the polo is another versatile necessity. Choose a color that speaks to you, but avoid patterns.

Timeless Style

According to FashionBeans.com, these closet must-haves will always make you look good no matter what trends come and go.

EDITORS NOTE The Womens tab on FashionBeans.com is a one-click gateway to the feminine side of style, featuring all of the happenings in womens style trends.

The Gizmo Whiz Kid

All in a days Work From ideation to creation, Quirky takes you through the lifespan of product creation.

Ben Kaufman says that when he was growing up, he wanted to be a dentist. That changed during his senior year of high school when he had an idea for a lanyard headphone for iPods. he convinced his parents to mortgage their house and hand him $185,000 to develop it. it wasnt easy, Kaufman allows, when asked what magic words he used to convince his folks they should cough up so much cash. Kaufman flew to China to get the lanyard headphones manufactured. his company, mophie, launched on the day he graduated from high school. Fast forward a few months, and mophie had won Best of Show at macWorld 2006. The following year, Kaufman went back to macWorld and handed out 30,000 pads of paper, asking people to give him their ideas for new products. People from around the world came together to develop the winning product, the Bevy, which is an iPod Shuffle case, bottle opener, key ring and ear-bud wrap all in one. That crowd-sourcing experience was so exciting that Kaufman sold mophie and started Quirky.com, which launched in 2009. hes been featured in hundreds of news publications and TV channels. in 2007, Inc. magazine named him the top entrepreneur in America under the age of 30. he was 20 at the time.

n the past, wannabe Thomas Edisons of the world have encountered some pretty stiff challenges. For most, the gizmos they dreamed about creating have been a little more than, well, dreamsunless they had access to a lot of money, along with the right connections and education. But 24-year-old Ben Kaufman is changing all that with Quirky, a TV series debuting this month on Sundance Channel. A few years back, a light bulb went off in Kaufmans brain, and his company created Quirky.com a site where anyone with a good idea can gain the support of hundreds of colleagues who lend their expertise. The cream of the gadget crop is transformed into actual products sold on Quirkys site and in retail stores. The inventions are certainly quirky, but also practical and beautifully designed. They range from an electronic power scrubber for bathroom tiles to a leash that stores dog waste bags right in the handle. Each TV episode tracks the Quirky team of engineers and designers in their New York offices mulling over the best ideas they receive in a given week. The spotlight also falls on two different inventors. One is working on creating something in the very early stages, and the second inventor is much further along. With those, weve already decided to manufacture their product, so were going through the challenge of actually getting it out there into the world, Kaufman says. While the same development process used on the website is very much a part of Sundances new series, there is a difference. The TV show gives people a deep dive into how something goes from Oh, thats a good idea, to Wow! Thats a product I must buy, Kaufman says.

Quirkys 65,000 members contribute to the invention process in a number of wayseverything from casting votes for the ideas that excite them to working on research, design and branding. Members are rewarded with a share of the revenue for the gadgets that are actually produced based on the value of their contribution. Thats determined by Quirkys unique technology platform. (It took Kaufman and crew two years to create it.) Around 300 to 600 ideas flood into Quirkys offices every week. of those, two products are selected for development on the websiteand for a chosen few, on the TV series as well. At that rate of speed, wont all the good ideas eventually dry up? Absolutely not! Kaufman says. As times change and different needs and problems are experienced by consumers, new products are born. And well be here to bring those products to life.

Enter Callie Thorne (Rescue Mes fierce, fiery Sheila). She headlines Necessary Roughness, in which she plays a single mother and go-getter struggling to make a living. Her new job? Being a therapist for a professional football team. Theres more. Necessary Roughness

Deadliest Warrior

Roccos Dinner Party

The ever colorfuland true foodieRocco DiSpirito is at the helm of this inventive competition series, which finds a skilled culinary trio hoping to advance professionally. They each have just one shot at capturing DiSpiritos interest by creating their signature dish. The top two advance and are immediately challenged to concoct an entire menu for two separate dinner parties, which will be judged. Thats certainly enough pressure but the chefs must also design a party conceptfrom dcor to ambiance and more. Celebs pull up a chair at the proverbial table, tooLiza Minnelli, Padma Lakshmi and Sandra Bernhard will drop by. Watch: Wednesdays, 11/10 pm, Bravo

Wondering how historys most famous warriors would be able to compete against each other is one thing, but to actually re-enact it on screen made Deadliest Warrior not only interesting but a real guilty pleasure. For season three, producers have brought on Navy SEAL Mack (Future Weapons, Weapons That Changed The World) to deliver deeper insights into understanding various military strategies. Interesting to note: The notorious Hannibal Barca (247-183 BC) is the latest warrior to be spotlighted. Barca was brutal and is known for his advances in the Second Punic War, where he and his posse ventured forth with war elephants. Buckle up. Watch: Premieres Wednesday, July 13, 10/9 pm C, Spike

Curb Your Enthusiasm

Just when you thought he couldnt do any more harm, psychological or otherwise, Larry David steps it up by taking a big (and perhaps bitter) bite out of the Big Apple. Thats right, the eighth season of this Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning jewel finds David (so adept at playing a tongue-in-cheek version of himself) picking up camp and heading to New York. How the already frenetic city will affect the already frenetic David should be amusing to watch. Good news: Michael J. Fox, Wanda Sykes, Ricky Gervais and SNL alum Anna Gasteyer are set to appear in memorable guest spots. This is one season you dont want to miss. Watch: Premieres Sunday, July 10, 10/9 pm C, HBO

Men of a Certain Age, TNT Watch: Season Finale Wednesday, July 6, 10/9 pm C
Admittedly, two-time Emmy winner Andre Braugher (Homicide: Life on the Street, Thief ), is used to playing the strong guy. But when the role of Owen on TNTs beautifully underplayed yet wonderfully executed drama, Men of a Certain Age, came along a few years ago, he saw it as the perfect opportunity to grow artistically. Ive spent a lot of time playing a lot more confident characters, he says, so its been different playing an ordinary man, but I think people can relate to him, and his struggles with himself. How true that is. Braughers richly layered portrayal of Owen not only nabbed him an Emmy nod for the series co-created by Ray Romano, and which also co-stars Scott Bakula, it also gave middle-agers something, and somebody, to really root for. As the beleaguered heir to a prominent car dealership, Owens plightfrom daddy issues to keeping the love flowing at homemirrored those facing todays everyman. Issues of self-identity pepper quite a bit of Braughers work of latelast spring he stunned Broadway audiences with his portrayal of a former slave raised in a Jewish home in The Whipping Man. And of playing Owen, hes candid: I loved this character from the moment I read him in the pilot, he says. And I was really honest with myself. I told myself, Hey, Im going to have to play a type of character that Ive never played before. But I liked Owens path. Its a lifelong struggle to become ourselves. And I think he is aware of that journey. Hes a husband, a father, a son, a friend. Theres a lot hes juggling but hes taking charge of his life.
