Design Thinking - 22.06.

2011 - Cafe the connection with Josef Kreitmayer and Clemens Gammer
at all times: stick to the topic one person talking at a time support wild ideas minimize criticism express in pictures quantity counts build up on shared ideas fail early and often think user friendly / user oriented

the stages: 1 express a question (How might we...?) explain the topic and collect 'sticky words' find firm wording for the question understand the question & words - reach deep shared understanding of the issue and its context 2 Observe (open up to variety/volume of the topic) interview one real person, of your team or any volunteer, about everything concerning the issue. collect the everyday life and the lifetime aspects. what is the person doing? what more what less? why? 3 Person (boil down to one concrete user) invent a typical person that should profit from your activity name, age, gender, family, relationships, profession, education, hobbies, everyday routine, weekend, holiday, activity and contacts in society, emotional landscape, abilities, special needs, opportunities, restrictions/limitations, biography, experiences, liked/disliked things, looking forward to.. / avoiding.. , etc. 4 what could that person do? (open up to variety/volume of the persons opportunities) -> referred to our question and the personal resources/situation? also surprising things, that you wouldn't expect of the person. crazy brainstorming! create 100 ideas in 10 minutes! post them and post them on top of each other, building up! 5 cluster the ideas, choose priority (boil down to one concrete concept) finalise concept and paths of realization of this idea in the concrete context. making use of the persons resources & situation. 6 test your prototype

-write down the question -present it to group in 2min -others collect sticky words on 'post its' -use words and drawings on flip-chart to optimize question and make topic clear together -list it on flip-chart -make drafts and connections -collect different aspects, layers and spheres of the topic and: -it's concrete connection/dependency & interfering with individual life -list it on flip-chart -describe, get to know and understand your person in detail -summarize the list in a verbal presentation of the person "may I introduce to you: this is... "

-everyone in the team takes 'post its' and puts all kinds of possibilities of action taking on the flip-chart simultaneously, introducing new and developing occurred input

-gather related input in separate areas, rearrange the 'post its' on the flip-chart -develop concept and concrete opportunity/solution -present your outcome
