Criteria for people in this industry: 1. Knowledge of social media and communication. 2. Some experience in Design computer programs. (ex: Adobe In Design) 3. Educational background in marketing/ communications. 4. Experience in marketing/ communications segment of a company. 5. Organizational skills related to advertising.

The Current Me When I Googled my name a few different pages came up. It had a link to my facebook page, my Diigo page, my mindmeister, and a link to a tennis website because I used to play in national tournaments so they still have my ranking in their site. I currently can relate myself to these five identities briefly. I have a good knowledge of social media and communication because my age group is very active on social websites and communicating through different media. I have taken graphic design courses at Arizona State University so I have some experience in the adobe design programs. I have also taken marketing courses through Arizona State that have given me a brief overview of the marketing world. I am currently interning for Physio-Control (a segment of Medtronic) in Redmond Washington, where I am gaining knowledge and experience toward my goal of working in marketing and communications. Over the 15 years I have been in school I have learned how to organize time, and space. I have developed ideal organizational skills through education that would help meet the fifth job criteria. Bridging the Gap: After considering how to obtain jobs and what the professionals do in the field of marketing and communications I have learned a lot about myself and my future self. The internship I am working at full time this summer is going to be a huge strength for me to be able to obtain my goals as a future marketing communications employee. My educational background will also be a very solid support system in obtaining this goal. I am still very new to the field of marketing and communications and have led off a path from graphic design which slowed down my learning process a bit. This is a weakness but also a learning experience that was good to encounter. Another weakness would be that I am still not completely knowledgeable about holding a full time position for the rest of my life or how I would end up feeling about the field in the long run. These weaknesses are just building blocks in learning how to create a life long career for my future self. Executive Summary: This process of analyzing specific careers and people involved in them was very helpful. Having only one year of college left is somewhat of a scary and exciting event that involves a lot of preparation. This exercise has taught me about new medias I can look into when I have finished college and the next step is to begin my career.

PART 2 Resume
I had this resume made to submit in my last job application, I updated the information and format of the resume last spring. I chose this format because it was a basic and easy to read way of presenting my experience. The font is Times New Roman because it is my favorite basic font. It is easy to read and presents a professional impression. I put the details of each job in italics because it differentiates the importance of details and basic information. I tried to make it as easy as possible to navigate and understand.

Scannable resume
For my scannable resume I provided all of the same information that I did in my regular resume. I took out the bullet points, moves the date into a more obvious place, and I made sure I had all the correct heading easy to identify.

In my LinkedIn profile I added an image, my educational background, my resume, professional experiences and goals, interests, contact settings, some personal information, a link to Physio Control, which is my current employer, and a link to the Arizona State website. Having this linked in profile will be a good start for me to gain exposure in the business world. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/delaney-hensley/36/554/8b8

Video Resume:
http://animoto.com/play/HL3JYzuimKZkY6dSO0tcJQ In this video I incorporated the important thing that would help me in a marketing communications career. For pictures I chose a paint bucket to emphasize that I enjoy painting and being creative, I included a Physio Control logo because they are my current employer, books and the Arizona state sign stand for my educational background. I wrote marketing communications and BA design studies because they are the two most important things in my resume at this point.

Experience Map

I could not figure out how to use Google maps to create a map or the timeline site so I created my own map that includes the 5 most important places I have been and what I did there. These are the five things that are helping me reach my ultimate goal of working in marketing communications.
