Connecting the UPC MediaBox HD Digital Video Recorder

To link up the MediaBox to the satellite signal, connect the two coax cables from the satellite dish to the back of the MediaBox to the connection SAT 1 and SAT 2.

Connect the scart cable to the TV and the MediaBox. If your TV supports a HDMI cable (not supplied) we advise you to use a HDMI cable to connect the TV and the MediaBox instead of the scart cable, as this is needed for High Definition quality. Now connect the mains cable to the MediaBox and switch it on with your remote control.

After connecting the MediaBox and switching it on, the above screen will appear. Select your country with the arrow buttons on the remote and confirm with .

Press . Please note signal strength will generally not be 100%.

The MediaBox will search for channels and the screen of the next step will automatically appear.

Press to confirm. Once the set up is finalized you can start enjoying UPC Digital TV.

Using the UPC MediaBox HD Digital Video Recorder

1 Switching on and off 2 Changing channels
Press [ch ] and [ch ] to switch to the next or the previous channel. To switch directly to the channel use the number key pad. Each time you change channels, the programme information banner appears. This is a useful feature of Digital TV. Please refer to the user guide for more information about how it works. A programme information banner can also be called up and removed by pressing .

3 Accessing the Main Menu

The remote control should be used to switch the MediaBox on and off. Insert the batteries.

To access the main menu, press on your remote control. Here you will be able to see an overview of all the services and settings available for Digital TV. The selected option will appear highlighted. To move between the options use the arrow buttons on your remote control and then press to select an option.

7 Pause live TV

Press to call up the TV Guide and then follow the instructions on the screen. Once you have selected a channel category, you will see a list of the programmes currently showing. Follow the instructions on the screen to access the full listing for a particular channel.

Go to the TV Guide (as described in section [4]). Select the programme you wish to record and press the record button to set a recording. You can also start recording at any time by simply pressing the -button. In order to stop recording, press .

Press , select Digital Video Recorder and then press . Go to My Programmes and press . You will now see a list of all recordings and the remaining storage capacity. If you wish to delete any of the recorded files, simply follow the on-screen instructions.

When watching TV press -button on your remote control to pause your live TV programme. To unpause press the -button. Press the -button to rewind and the -button to fast forward.
