1. Define Physical education?

- Physical education - instruction in physical exercise and games, especially in schools. Physical Education is the process by which changes in the individual are bought about through movements experiences. Physical Education aims not only at physical development but is also concerned with education of the whole person through physical activities.

2. Goal & objectives of physical education?


Goals -how to stay fit by regular exercise, yoga, and aerobics. - knowledge of all popular sports, their rules and other requisites like dimensions of the court or ground on which it is played, popular sportspersons etc. Healthier body contributes to good brain power. Education also is not just limited to getting an A for every subject. It is more than that. Thats why being a teacher is not that easy. Physical education can inculcate the importances of exercise. It keeps the body is better health condition. On the long run, health is wealth...The physical education is mainly to make the mind free for students from their personal issues and make them healthy to live long etc

Objectives of Physical Education - Objectives are steps considered towards the attainment of the aim. They are the particular and precise means employed to realize an aim. The moment an aim is achieved it becomes an objective in the action that goal on continuing. The three Objectives of physical education are 1. The objective of physical fitness - It refers to that state where an individual has developed great endurance, speed, strength etc. Physical fitness is essential to leading a happy, vigorous and abundant life. 2. The objective of social efficiency - It concerned with one's proper adaptation to group living. Physical education activities provides ample opportunities to develop traits such as cooperation, respect to others, loyalty, sportsmanship, self confidence etc. All these qualities help a person to make him a good citizen. 3. The objective of culture - It aims at developing an understanding and appreciation of one's own local environment as well as the environment which is world-wide in scope. By participation in various physical education activities such as dance, sports and games, a person fully understand the history, culture, tradition, religious practices etc and the aesthetic values associated with these activities

3. Components of Physical Fitness?


-Cardiovascular endurance is the ability of the heart and lungs to work together to provide the needed oxygen and fuel to the body during sustained workloads. Examples would be jogging, cycling and swimming. The Cooper Run is used most often to test cardiovascular endurance. -Muscular strength is the amount of force a muscle can produce. Examples would be the bench press, leg press or bicep curl. The push up test is most often used to test muscular strength. -Muscular endurance is the ability of the muscles to perform continuous without fatiguing. Examples would be cycling, step machines and elliptical machines. The sit up test is most often used to test muscular endurance. -Flexibility is the ability of each joint to move through the available range of motion for a specific joint. Examples would be stretching individual muscles or the ability to perform certain functional movements such as the lunge. The sit and reach test is most often used to test flexibility. -Body composition is the amount of fat mass compared to lean muscle mass, bone and organs. This can be measured using underwater weighing, Skin fold readings, and bioelectrical impedance. Underwater weighing is considered the gold standard for body fat measurement, however because of the size and expense of the equipment needed very few places are set up to do this kind of measurement.
