rock vs rap

Ok. So it s not secret that I hate and despise any form of rap or hip-hop but some people find it hard to understand how I could possibly prefer rock so allow me to enlighten them as to how it is sooo much better. Firstly let s think about the tune, does rap actually have a tune. I ask this beca use whenever I am forced to listen to it all I seem to hear is a constant stream of irritating beats and other odd noises. When eventually they do decide to sing its either impossible to hear or it s just the same thing repeated over and over a gain until you feel like picking up a large and heavy object and beating them ro und the head with it. Rock on the other hand does have a tune, is relatively eas y to understand and you can actually listening to it without feeling like there a woodpecker attacking your head. What s more the majority of the time they actual ly sing instead of just yelling random words that are from no language that can be understood by a normal human being. onto my second point, there is very little if any variation in rap. It is always pretty much the same thing all the time. Rock is completely different. There ar e loads of different forms of rock for example there s indie or soft rock, there s r ock and roll which is slightly heavier and then there s punk and metal which are m uch heavier. Speaking of metal, that has quite a few variations of its own for e xample there s heavy metal with bands like Lamb of god, Judas Priest and iron maid en, following on there s nu metal with bands like Linkin Park, and disturbed and t hen we have death metal with bands like as i lay dying, and Venom. Coming on to my next point, what is with the way rappers dress? I mean seriously. I m surprised that the amount of bling they wear doesn t snap their fingers or break their necks. Also, why on earth have so many of them got gold teeth? I pondered this for quite some time until I came to the conclusion that they have either be en kicked in the head by an angry donkey and actually think it looks cool, or th ey don t know how to brush their teeth properly. Finally I wonder if they will eve r figure out that trousers are supposed to cover your butt or that the strange s ock like things that they wear on their heads look completely and utterly dopey. Another thing, how do they come up with such ridiculous names for themselves? To be honest whenever I hear someone mention the rapper Eminem I immediately think of those yummy sugar covered chocolate sweets coming to life and yelling Yo yo h omie yo at me. Then of course there s Snoop Dog. I seriously have nothing to say ab out this name, I mean what the heck? It s just plain weird and not in a good way e ither. And finally there s Jay Z. I am very curious as to what the Z stands for. I r eally don t like this person but that is a story for another time. I would now lik e to give some examples of cool names as used by rock bands. Ok here goes. Number 1, we have Iron Maiden, who I think I mentioned earlier. Not only are the y a seriously cool band but they are named after an equally wicked torture devic e from the medieval ages. Next up we have Evanescence which i believe means fadin g away , quite poetic really. And last, but certainly not least, we have H.I.M whi ch I believe stands for His Infernal Majesty. Ok there we go. I have made my points and have come to my conclusion. Rock is, a nd always will be, better than rap. This may be because it has been around for a lot longer than rap (about 30 years to be precise) or it could just be because rap sucks, I believe it to be the latter
