TUCSON, Ariz. The following is a rundown of activities that occurred over the holiday weekend within the Tucson Sector. This is only a thumbnail of each incident and an invitation to contact the Tucson Sector Communications Division for more information.

Arrests

(AJO) On July 1, Ajo Station agents apprehended a 30-year-old Mexican national. During processing, the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS) revealed that the subject was convicted in New York in 2009 for Acting in a Manner to Injure a Child Less Than 17. The subject is being criminally prosecuted for Illegal Entry.

(TUS) On July 2, Tucson Station agents apprehended a 26-year-old illegal alien male from Mexico who admitted to being a Sureo 13 gang member. The subject was processed for removal.

(TUS) On July 2, Tucson Station agents apprehended a 23-year-old illegal alien from Mexico. The man admitted to being a member of the Sureo 13 gang and is being criminally prosecuted under Operation Streamline.

(NCO) On July 3, Naco Station agents apprehended a 20-year-old male Mexican national for illegally entering the United States. Using IAFIS, agents discovered the man had two convictions in Cook County, Illinois for Cannabis possession. He is being criminally prosecuted under Operation Streamline.

(NGL) On July 3, Nogales agents conducting checkpoint operations on Interstate 19 arrested a U.S. citizen male for transporting two illegal aliens in the trunk of his vehicle. The 24-year-old driver is being prosecuted on federal alien smuggling and endangerment charges.

(CAG) On July 4, Casa Grande agents apprehended a 30-year-old illegal alien from Mexico. During processing, the subject admitted he was affiliated with the Sureo 13 street gang. The subject is being processed for removal.

(NGL) On July 4, Nogales agents apprehended a 23-year-old illegal alien man from Mexico. Agents conducted record checks using IAFIS and discovered he had prior convictions for Sex With a Minor and False Imprisonment. The man is being criminally prosecuted for Illegal Entry. Seizure

(WCX) On July 4, a canine team from the Willcox Station conducted a vehicle stop near Tombstone. The canine alerted to the truck and agents subsequently discovered nearly 400 pounds of marijuana hidden under the bed of the truck. The driver, a female U.S. citizen, was arrested and is being held pending federal drug charges. The marijuana and truck were seized. (Photo available)
