ABOUT THE AUTHOR


DAVID.P.SORENSEN received his doctorate in organic chemistry from the University of UTAH in 1955. He joined a company named 3Ms as a research analyst. He retired from the post of executive director in 1995. Sorensen is a member of American Chemical Society and the American Management Association.

What is innovation?
Innovation is the introduction of something new which may be a new idea, method or device, that helps us to create a developing environment which may be for the society, organization or a nation.

INNOVATIVE ORGANIZATION
An innovative organization contains freedom, communication, expectation and environment for growth in todays business scenario. Freedom is an essential part of an innovative organization. For creating a freedom environment a manger should always ask his employee what they need to do so that they become innovative and creative.

BUILDING AN INNOVATIVE CULTURE FOR INNOVATION


Building an innovative culture requires a lot of planning and commitment by the employee and the management. In includes objective and target of an innovative organization.

MAINTAIN AN INNOVATIVE CULTURE


For maintaining an innovative culture an organization requires tools and innovative persons. Everyone is an innovator: - Ideas are lifeblood of an innovative organization. Not all the people born with the talent to think creatively.

Organization may honor those people who do outstanding performance. Recognition of those employees may be formal or informal.

An innovative organization consists of two types of teams. They are: Empowered Teams: - Empowered teams are closest to the business action and they take all the business decision. An empowered team members are composed towards team goals. Special Purpose Teams: - Special purpose teams are different. The methods of operation in this team are different.

CONCLUSION
In this book the author is explaining in detail about the importance of innovation and creativity for an organization because these are the key factor which determines the success and failure of an organization.
