1) Is training conducted with individual development?

a) An Individual Development is a formal document that identifies an individual's learning and developmental goals. The manager and the individual should jointly develop the plan. This plan must contain training, education, and development activities (formal and informal) to acquire the competencies needed to meet the individual as well as organizational goals. Points covered for a training program To identify and assess future developmental needs in required competency areas. To provide structured learning experiences linked to organizational needs, goals, and job requirements. To establish an agreed-upon set of learning objectives and developmental activities as part of a formal career development program. The training program helps organization in an assessment of the individual's current skill levels, strengths, and developmental needs. The training should also be used to compare an individual's current ability with the required job competencies. It must be able to determine the developmental activities to be included in the training.

2) Is training solution for any problem or can it solve a problem a) Training can help to solve any problem. It provides an individual with the required knowledge, skills & techniques for solving any problem. No two problems are

the same. Training cannot cover all problem areas but it can make an individual capable of solving those problems by helping him analyze the problem & apply his knowledge. Training makes aware of the different kinds of problems an employee has to face in his work area; it also makes the employee capable of customizing his training program to apply it to each of the individual problem & help solve it.

3) What is effective training or mentoring? a) Mentorship refers to a personal developmental relationship in which a more experienced or more knowledgeable person helps a less experienced or less knowledgeable person. Training provides them with a basic knowledge of their work program, where as a mentor can teach the employee to develop the program into a more customized manner so that it can be applied for unique & distinctive problems.

An employee can benefit from the mentors years of experience & can learn important lesson in the working of the market & the organization. Thus training provides a strong platform & mentorship can help mould the employee into a more knowledgeable individual.
