Starting Installation Process

Make sure you turn off Windows Automatic Updates. Last thing you want to see is to wake up in the morning, run to your machine and see it`s been restarted by Automatic Updates! There are important details to mention: 1. Your Computer name cannot be more than 13 characters. Otherwise youll get an error during installation during prerequisite check. Computer name can be changed by going on Properties of My Computer -> Computer Name -> Change. I keep the name to sapides.

2. Increase your virtual memory. Make it at least 15000 MB. Otherwise youll get a warning during installation prerequisite check. If you wish, you can continue installation like that; however its highly recommended that you increase your min virtual memory. This will increase both installation and SAP runtime performance. i. This can be done by going on Properties of My computer -> Advanced -> Click Settings in the Performance box -> Advanced tab ii. Click Change under the Virtual Memory tab. iii. Choose Custom Size and Change the Initial Size and Final Size both to 15000 (not necessarily on one drive).

3. Make sure you install correct version of JDK (1.4.2_17). If not, you may get some java runtime related errors during installation. https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/CDS-CDS_Developer-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewProductDetail-Start?ProductRef=j2sdk1.4.2_17-oth-JPR@CDS-CDS_Developer 4.
