Our slip-resistant and static control products raise levels of building safety, while the low VOC emissions of our products contribute to better indoor air quality. We also design our products for the lowest possible use of water, detergents and energy for cleaning, so reducing their environmental footprint.

Colour by design
A coherent collection
Colour, pattern and style are integral to Tarketts flooring solutions, and we have a worldwide team of designers who keep our ranges contemporary and relevant. A coherent and complementary range of designs and products makes it possible to provide harmonious and functional solutions for every sector.
Sustainable solutions
Tarketts approach to sustainability is called Balanced Choice. It lets our customers balance their project and budget requirements against the need for sustainable solutions
We believe that sustainability shouldnt just be a theory. For us its based on the factual analysis of everything we do on a daily basis. Over many years as a leader in environmentally responsible and sustainable manufacturing, we have focused on developing better materials, consuming fewer resources, creating people-friendly spaces and reusing and recycling products at the end of their lives.
Resource stewardship
Tarkett monitors its operations quarterly on five key indicators: water, energy, waste, recycling and emissions. The results are publicly reported and allow us to verify our progress in reducing our consumption of resources.
People-friendly spaces
Tarkett makes flooring solutions that provide safe, healthy environments where people can heal, work, learn, play and enjoy their leisure. We systematically evaluate all our flooring for its contribution to indoor air quality. Our surface treatments conserve resources by reducing the need for water, detergents and energy.
Better materials
Tarkett uses renewable and natural materials wherever possible and continues to increase the threshold levels in all its products.
The best flooring solution for every area and every application
Tarkett has a strong segment approach, which means that our organisation is oriented towards targeted segments, enabling us to offer a high degree of efficiency, flexibility and consulting competence. So we can offer the right project competence as well as the right flooring solution.
Education
In education, the life of a floor reflects the different ages of its users from toddlers just starting to explore, to students on a journey of intellectual discovery. Over many years, Tarkett has forged partnerships in projects throughout the education system, working with children, students and teachers to develop better learning environments.
You can see the lessons weve learned in every aspect of our flooring solutions for education. Long-lasting, safe and cost-effective, our solutions offer a wide range of functions and materials to suit different activities. For practical but inviting floors, our linoleum is a favourite choice. Totally natural, hygienic and extremely durable, it can handle the heaviest demands of constant traffic, and offers colours that are exciting and enriching. Vinyls robust, stain-resistant surfaces and excellent acoustic qualities make it another option everywhere, from laboratories to lecture theatres. Our flooring solutions are an education in themselves.

LOOSE LAY
Tarkolay The multi-purpose underlay Tarkolay is an underlayer meant to be loose laid on the subfloor. A Tarkett floorcovering is then bonded onto it. The result is a stable construction with natural ventilation between the resilient flooring and the subfloor. This system solves moisture problem and allows simpler and cleaner work when it is time for refurbishment.

affects the flooring material. One result of this is high levels of unhealthy, allergenic and foul-smelling emissions. Tarkolay solves these problems. Tarkolay is moisture resistant, and its construction allows ventilation between the flooring material and the subfloor. Tarkolay withstands moisture levels as high as 96% RH. Simpler refurbishment When it is time for refurbishment, Tarkolay is ready for recycling. No residues of adhesive or subfloor remain on the back. The whole construction is easily lifted out and sent for recycling. The new finish can then be installed immediatly. No subfloor work is needed. More design possibilities Tarkolay makes it possible to loose lay nearly all the Tarkett range of resilient floorings. A large choice of colours and patterns even makes it possible to create some floor designs.
iQ Toro SC and iQ Granit SD: keep sensitive environments safe Electro-static discharge can be a serious problem for sensitive environments, such as operating theatres, computer rooms and industries such as electronics. The choice of flooring is an important part of an effective ESD control system. Tarkett has developed iQ Granit SD for static dissipation and iQ Toro SC for the higher requirements for static conductivity. These specialist flooring products combine high technical standards with ease of installation, low maintenance and extraordinary durability. Colour-coordinated with the iQ range, they are ideal for creating a cohesive design that incorporates specialist areas with other types of flooring.

WOOD
When it comes to the authenticity of a natural product, nothing can rival the beauty of wood. For any commercial application where function must be matched by style, such as offices, stores or hotels, wood is the statement choice.
Naturally sustainable
Our wood collections are environmentally friendly through and through, from growing and harvesting, through manufacturing to eventual recycling. To ensure constant and continuing supplies, we must look after our forests and harvest them with care. This is particularly important for tropical hardwoods, which are often over-exploited or illegally harvested. Thats why all the wood we use including hardwoods comes only from sources with guaranteed replanting and harvesting with minimal waste. Our production processes are designed to minimise the use of resources and, wherever possible, to recycle and reuse water, energy and waste material. We have Forest Stewardship Council Certification (FSC).

All Tarkett products are composed of the highest quality raw materials available and are manufactured under strict production control. They will meet the most exacting requirements of architects, contractors, owners and users. Top quality material is only half of the story: a floorcoverings beauty and serviceability is dependant first on proper installation over a suitable subfloor and then on adapted cleaning and maintenance procedures. By carefully using these instructions, it should be simple matter to make each project a job of which all can be proud and keep your flooring investment clean and good-looking year after year.
p. 344-345
p. 346-347
SUBFLOOR
The subfloor must be flat, clean, without any marks (no felt pen, marker of any type, ballpoint pens, paint, etc that could cause discoloration due to migration), sound, dry, solid, hard, smooth, (the absorbency must be checked) and not exposed to humidity. The preparation/dryness of the subfloor and installation procedures should all be as per the current relevant Standard within the country of use. The dryness of a solid subfloor should be below the maximum moisture level permitted when tested in accordance with the said Standard. Ex : in UK, the humidity of concrete surfaces must be below 75% and with CCM method must be less than 2%. Or ex : in North America, ASTM F-170 recommends a water-to-cement ratio of 0.40 to 0.45/ Prior to selecting a smoothing compound, it will be necessary to investigate what type of traffic the floorcovering will be subjected to once installed. Latex smoothing compounds are not suitable for areas that will receive heavy traffic, especially heavy, narrow wheeled traffic (see Wheels EN Norms 12529). Check levelling compound compatibility : please follow instructions of levelling compound manufacturer.
Installation
general instructions
BEFORE INSTALLATION
HANDLING
- For best results, follow the installation instructions below, and use the tools and accessories recommended by the manufacturer. - Care should be taken when handling all types of floorcoverings to ensure that safety procedures are followed and damage does not occur to the material. - Check the material for visible defects and/or damage before and during installation and report to Tarkett representative. - Use the same batch number for each continuous surface and sequential order n of palette and rolls/boxes.
EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY

The list of products and manufacturers are not guaranteed complete or current. Tarkett would not accept any liability for any of these products failing to perform in conjunction with any of their products. It is the responsibility of the adhesive, levelling compound and surface damp proof membrane manufacturer and flooring contractor to ensure the products being used are appropriate for use and applied in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations. For specific subfloor types and preparation, please contact Tarkett technical services.
STORAGE
Rolls: store the rolls upright, in a secured position, dry place, protected from heat and cold, moist, rust, rot, free from any contamination and not piled up or crushed under heavy weight. Tiles/Planks: store the boxes in small, neat piles.
344
AFTER INSTALLATION
PROTECTION OF INSTALLATION
Never subject a newly installed floorcovering to heavy wheeled traffic at an early stage, as this will disperse adhesive from beneath the floorcovering. If building work is carried out after installation, the floor should be always covered for protection. Protect the installation with hardboard or plywood. Masking tape must not be stuck directly to the floor.
PREPARATION OF INSTALLATION
- for sheets: lay the rolls following the incoming light or the main traffic lanes (ex : corridors or long rooms); - for tiles : draw the axes to find the best setting out tiles to utilize a maximum size tile at the perimeter walls and main access.
UNDERFLOOR HEATING
It is imperative that underfloor heating systems have been previously commissioned and found to be functioning correctly prior to the installation of the floorcovering. Ensure that the underfloor heating system is switched off 48 hours prior to the floorcovering installation commencing and remains off for at least 48 hours after the installation is complete. During the period of decommissioning of the underfloor heating system, an alternative heating source should be provided, if required, to ensure that the area of installation is kept at a constant temperature of 18C - 27C. Gradually increase the temperature over a number of days by only a few degrees per day until the desired room temperature is reached. The temperature should never exceed the floorcovering industry agreed maximum of 27C on the underside of the floorcovering (the adhesive line). Remark: in case of underfloor heating, we recommend that the vinyl tiles are hot welded.

Flooring should be seen as an investment for the long term. Some still choose flooring based upon initial price alone, and dont consider the costs involved in owning and maintaining the flooring. In fact, maintenance represent on average 92% of the cost during the floorings lifetime. Only 8% is related to purchase and installation. This really points out the importance of easy and lowcost cleaning and maintenance and that a higher initial investment will really pay off in the long run. All floorcoverings require maintenance to ensure that they retain their appearance and durability. A tailored maintenance programme will help to expand the life of the floor and protect your investment.
