ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF ADVANCED CONTROL SYSTEMS: feedback control of systems with large dead time, dead time compensation cascade control feed forward and adaptive and inferential control systems internal model control.
UNIT IV

DESIGN OF CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR MULTIVARIABLE PROCESS: design questions degrees of freedom and number of controller and manipulated variables generation of alternative loop configurations and extension to systems with interacting units. Interaction of control loops relative gain array and selection of loops design for non-interacting control loops. Design of PID controller for stable and unstable system.
