The Magic Porridge Pot

But the little pot kept on cooking and jumping and making more, and more and more porridge! The garden was full of porridge, The street, the city, the whole country was covered in porridge. 19 Alice saw the porridge, quickly went home And said, Little pot, stop! The little pot stopped. 21 There was porridge everywhere. What to do with all this porridge? asked her mother. Share it. said the people. And that is what they did! Dennis doesnt like to clean. He also doesnt like to wash or put things nicely. Mother always has to nag him. Otherwise he wont do any cleaning. Mother always says: If you dont clean up, you will get dirty Dirty things have lots of germs. And germs can make you sick! But Dennis didnt listen and his room was always a mess. One day he was playing when he met a funny guy. Where are you from? He asked. The funny man said, Im from the land of Mess. We dont clean up anything. Everything is dirty. We only play. Wow, said Dennis, I would like to go there! The funny man said that that was easy. He pointed at a hole in the wall. The Land of Mess is just over there!

They went through the hole, and really, that place was a mess. The funny man smiled, We never clean here! They wanted to play with the ball. But where was the ball? There were dirty clothes everywhere, some left over food and lots of empty cans and boxes. But they couldnt find the ball. Then they got hungry and wanted to eat something. They went to the kitchen, but the bread box only had cockroaches. IN the cookie box there was an old shoe. And there was trash everywhere. Dennis got upset. He said, You see, we are just wasting time. We cant find anything and we have not played also. I have an idea. We are going to clean up. The toys go here. The trash in the trash bags. The dirty clothes in the washing machine. And the food, we put on the shelf. This way, if we want to eat, we can find the food easily. And so they did. Just when they had sorted out everything, they heard some food steps. They looked up. It was the King of the land of Mess. He said, What are you doing here? Both, Dennis and the funny man smiled: We are cleaning up. The king became very angry. Here we dont clean up. You must go away! Dennis started to cough and sneeze. Maybe that is better too. He said. All this dirt is making me sick. He quickly looked for the hole and went back to his home. He immediately took a bath, and when he saw his room was messy too, quickly cleaned up. Just then mother came. She said, What are you doing, Dennis? Mom, Im cleaning up! This way I dont waste time if I want to play with something. And you wont fall over the toys when you come in 140
