EGO (Understanding and Eliminating): To feel hurt by what others do or think or says is always a sign of weakness and proof

that the whole being is not turned towards the Divine and is not under Di vine influence.

What we call ourselves is Ego. Our true self is the Divine. The ego never unders hat the Divine has different workings in different people. To judge things from one s own ego point of view is a great mistake, and is bound to increase the confu sion. It is necessary for every human being to identify how ego works and takes a roll in his case. What is the root cause of selfish thought, and how to root out th e same? In other words how to identify and pick the brain. What are the systematic step s which have to be followed to eliminate the same? In identifying the selfishness or ego 1. 2. Your mind should be turned towards Divine. There must be a constant aspiration to eliminate the same.

You need to identify some of the following points for self analysis (a) (b) (c) (d) rs. (e) (f) (g) tes. Feeling hurt by what others think or say or do. Feeing of a knock on nose indicating the selfishness Trying to feel everything is yourself and others do not interest you. Being more of self preserving & imposing your ideas and thoughts on othe Inability to think from others point of view. Feeling of inferiority and pettiness. When you have identified any of these qualities in you, then you have some ego. Yes, become one of the candidates of super-humanity or elated personality, by th e nature of thinking and not by the nature of materialistic possessions. The feeing is beautiful when you get rid of your ego. You need to relinquish it . Then you should yearn to get rid or contain or eliminate the ego. In fact the ego is much more difficult to seize because at the bottom, to be aw are of what the ego is, one needs already to have come out of it, and otherwise one does not find it. Man is wholly made up of ego; form the hair of the head, down to the feet; from the outside, deep into the inside; from the physical; right up-to the spiritual, ego is his staff. It is mixed up in everything. When you begin to be conscious that all is yourself, and that your ego is only a small portion in the midst of thousands and thousands of others of the same per son; that you are every where; when you feel that you yourself are in everything , that there is no separation, then, you know that you are on the way to having no ego. You should have determined for (a) A strong will and a pure, sincere aspiration to get rid of your ego. (b) Your will is the best guide.

The aspiration/ yearning must be sincere. You need to acquire self discipline by effort. It is only by a constant and sincere aspiration and prayer; you can get the same.

Yes, you need to broaden your thinking. Be honest to yourself in admitting your flaws, illbased selfish thoughts, as well as productive ideas & plans. You mus t be generous in accommodating others thoughts/ideas rather than imposing yours. Concentrate & meditate upon developing and possessing tolerance in all ways, fro m all directions. This will develop a cool judgment and helps in maintaining ha rmony with environment. Some people progress with great speed, only by hearing a word or a quotation.
