    Candidates appearing for the stenography skill test must follow several important instructions. They must arrive on time and bring their original call letter, as photocopies will not be accepted.     1. 2. 3. Thecandidateshouldreachthecentreoftheskilltestwellintime.Candidatesreportingafterthecommencementofthedictationshall notbeadmittedtothetesthall. Thecandidatewillnotbeallowedtoenterthetesthallwithoutproducingthecallletterinoriginal.Preservethecalllettercarefullyasno photocopyorF.I.R.forlossofthesamewillbeallowedassubstitute.Thecallletterisnottransferable. Theskilltestshallcommenceafterformalitieslikecheckingofattendance,collectionofcalllettersetc.arecompleted.Candidateswill notbepermittedtoleavethetesthalluntil15minuteshaveelapsedafterthecommencementoftranscriptiontimeorbeforethetestis overandtheCentreSupervisor/Invigilatorhasgivendirectiontoleave.Thismaytakesometimeafterthetestisover. Useofbooks,papersetc.arenotpermitted.Useofmobilephonesinsidethetesthallisstrictlyprohibited. Indulginginanymalpractice/unfairmeansinthetesthallwilldisqualifythecandidateandhe/shewillbedebarredfromallfurtherRRB examinationsandappointmentinRailways. TheRRBreservestherighttoorderretestsinthecaseofanycandidateorallcandidates. FurnishingofanyfalseinformationtotheRRBordeliberatesuppressionofanymaterialinformationwill,atanystageofitsdetectionwill render the candidate liable for being disqualified and debarred from appearing at any selection or examination for appointment to Railways. Beforeleavingthetesthall,candidatesmustsubmitthetranscriptionsheet(boththeoriginalandtheduplicate)andtheshorthandnote sheetstotheInvigilator. Changeofdate/reportingtime/centreofthetestwillnotbepermittedunderanycircumstances. SC/ST candidates are entitled to free rail travel and should produce the call letter with scanned photograph at the Railway booking counterforissueoftickets.However,Railwaypasseswillnotbeissuedforcollectionofduplicatecallletters. Candidates mustsignon thecallletter (attheappropriatespace)in thetesthallinpresenceof theInvigilatoronly.His/hersignature shouldbeinsamelanguageandsamestyleasinapplicationform. CandidatesarrangingimpersonationshallbedisqualifiedanddebarredforlifefromallfutureRRBexaminations.Candidatesarranging impersonatorand/orimpersonatorsareliableforprosecutionunderlaw.Candidatescausingdisturbancesinthetestpremisesshallbe dealtwithsimilarly. Candidatehastoaffixhis/herleftthumbimpressioncarefullyinthespaceprovidedintheattendancesheetwithoutsmudgingonthe providedspaceoftheattendancesheet.Candidatureofcandidateswithunclear/smudgedleftthumbimpressionwillberejected. Specialinstructions,ifany,givenbyInvigilator(s)shouldbefollowedrigidly. Name,community,rollnumbersetc.arerequiredtobefilledupbythecandidatescompulsorilyinfoilattachedtotheAnswerSheets. Candidatesshouldbringgoodqualitytypewritermachineswiththem.RRB/Guwahatiwillnotprovideanytypewritermachineandwill notbeabletosupplyanymachineifthemachinebroughtbythecandidatebecomesdefective.Electronictypewritermachineswillnot beallowed. Thetestpassagewillcontain800wordswhichwillneedtobetypedat80w.p.m.Beforedictationoftestpassage,theDictatorshallgive twotrialdictationsasawarminguppracticetothecandidates. Afterdictation,candidatesarerequiredtodothetranscriptionwhensignaled. Thetimeallowedfortranscriptionpassagewouldbe65minutesforEnglishpassageand75minutesforHindipassage. Thecandidatesshouldwritetheirrollnumber,nameandsignattheendofeachsheetoftranscriptandshorthandnotesheets. Thefollowingwillbeconsideredasfullmistakes: Everyomissionofawordorfigureincludingomissionofadefiniteorindefinitearticle Everysubstitutionofawrongwordorfigure Every addition of a word or figure or a group of words/figures including addition of a definite article not occurring in the passage Handwrittenadditions/corrections/insertions Thefollowingwillbeconsideredashalfmistakes: Misspelling,includingtranspositionoflettersinawordandalsoomissionofaletterorlettersfromaword Usingsingularforpluralnounandviceversa Transpositionofwords/groupofwordsinasentence Repeatingaword/figureoragroupofwordsorgroupoffiguresinthetranscript Wronguseofcapitallettersatthebeginningofthesentence Omissionorplacementoftheapostropheinawordinthepossessivecase,orincontractedwords Insertionofaspaceinthemiddleofaword Lackofspacebetweenwords Wrongsyllabificationofawordattheendofline Ambiguousovertyping Completeandambiguousoverlapping Omissionorwrongplacementofthecaretsign Arbitraryandunfamiliarabbreviations Morethanoneerrorinasingleword Stenographyskilltestisofqualifyingnatureandcandidatesfailingintheskilltestwillnotbeconsidered. Pleasenotethatinothermatters,theterms&conditionsetc.laiddownintheEmploymentNoticeshallapplymutatismutandis. ThecallletterforStenographyskilltestisprovisionalanddoesnotgiveanyguaranteeforemployment.Ifitisfoundlateratanystage thatyoudonotfulfillanyoftheconditionsofeligibility,yourcandidaturewillbecancelledandnoappealagainstsuchcancellationwill beentertained.Youarethereforeadvisedtocheckcarefullyandsatisfyyourselfthatyoufulfillalltheconditionsofeligibility.
