1. The great commission - Matt 28:20 a. We are all commanded to make disciples. Matt 28:20 b. Why does the Lord want us to be discipled and make disciples? i. God loves us so much He wants to teach us to love; by receiving His love and giving it away it is the only way of true freedom. 2. What is a disciple? a. A learner and follower of Christ. The word disciple means learner. 3. What is the goal of discipleship? a. To become like Jesus Christ likeness. i. The question is what is Christ like? We need to study Him and His word to find out. Our focus needs to especially on the four gospels to see how He made disciples and what He taught His disciples. b. To build Him a dwelling place i. What does it look like: 1. Fathers House is a House with foundations, walls and gates and a roof 2. Foundations = righteousness justice = truth and love 3. Walls of salvation: where He saves you from the enemy in all 8 rooms of your life. 4. Gates: of TPW He enter in though these. 5. Roof: His love covers us 6. Once His house is built His glory will fill His house. We are His temple. ii. How to build the house the Lord: 1. Fellowship with God = Abiding in Jesus 24/7 fellowship prayer time 2. Following Jesus = obedience to His words and agreement with His words. His will over our will - See notes on following Him. 3. Knowledge: Studying the covenant / agreement so you can come into whole hearted agreement with the King and Lord. 4. Fellowshipping and being accountable to other believers. iii. Where can we make disciples? 1. In houses, businesses, prisons, hospitals, government, school etc. iv. Who can be disciples of Jesus? 1. Anyone who believes and is willing deny self and take up their cross and follow Jesus. 2. Notes for team leader: Explain to them that they will be asked at the end of the introduction to discipleship if they would like to be disciples of Jesus. There is no pressure to become His

disciple as each needs to count the cost. They can start praying about this at this time. c. What does this mean practically four fundamentals i. Love God Matt 22:37-38; Knowing God is eternal life - John 17:3 ii. Love others Matt 22:37-40 iii. Become a disciple Jesus says, deny self, take up your cross and follow Me Luke 9:23, Matt 4:19; 10:38. It will cost us our lives Luke 14:25-35. Obey Him. Make disciples Matt 29:18-20; John 21:15-17. We need to release His love and have an outlet for His goodness to flow through. 1. Beholding His glory is what changes us to be like Him. Glory 2 Cor 3:7-18. d. Believers vs disciples. All believers are called to be disciples, yet not all believers are disciples. Once we believe we need to make the transition from being a believer to becoming a follower and disciple of Christ. Salvation is for free but discipleship will cost you your life. i. Believers go to and focus on the church disciples focus and follow Jesus and gather as the church. ii. Believers are busy building their own kingdom Disciples are building the Kingdom of heaven. iii. Believers live their own lives disciples allow Jesus to live His life iv. Believers want Jesus to follow them and bless them and their works disciples are seeking Jesus so they can follow Him. v. Believers do things without praying about His will disciples pray about all that they do so they can follow Him closely. vi. Believers avoid the difficult way disciples walk in the difficult narrow path. vii. Believers are running from challenges disciples are facing the challenges. viii. Believers are running from the cross of Christ disciples are embracing the cross of Christ. ix. Believers are following the church Disciples of Jesus are the church that is following Jesus. x. Believers are afraid of Gods voice/ His will, as they dont trust Him and want to save their own lives Disciples run to His voice/ His will even if it takes them through the valley of the shadow of death. xi. How did Jesus make disciples? 1. By example and walking with us each and every day 24/7. 2. Luke 9:23 3. They were not pressured they choose to follow Him. e. How it works today. The following is the pattern of discipleship today the how and why we do it. i. Discipleship meetings: 1. Once per week 2. Agenda and minutes. 3. Purpose of meeting is to measure ourselves as to see how we are doing in a spiritual growth. 4. Being accountable and transparent to each other. This is humility. ii. Teachings 1. At your own pace --- we go as fast or slow as we want in order to trained and equipped to do the work of the ministry that He has called us to. iii. Power encounters:

The mountain of God i. Key references for the mountain of the Lord - Isaiah 2:2-3; 11:9, Psalms 15; Mt28:16, 14:23, Ps68:15, Jer31:6,9-14, Ezek43:12, Ps 24:3-6, Isaiah 56:7, Heb 12:18-24, Rev 21:10. ii. The mountain vision and picture: 1. It will really help to read the Final Quest by Rick Joyner and look at wisdom for mountain climbing document. iii. Our Goal is to know His unconditional love and give it away. iv. Each one of us is different and will follow different path yet we all need to follow Christ up His Holy mountain. He is leading us up the mountain to meet the Father. As we climb the mountain so we receive more and more of Fathers Heart until we have His heart. Only when we have reached to top of the mountain of the Lord which is place of Fathers unconditional love will we be able to see clear enough to see His eternal plan for our lives. v. It is quicker and safer to climb the mountain in teams with an experience mountain climber. vi. The team leader will give you tools and mountain climbing equipment that will help you up the mountain. vii. As we grow and climb the mountain the enemy will attack us through many different ways and weapons. We need to recognise these and take on the weapons of the Lord. Our war is not against people but against the demonic forces of satan. See Ephesians 6:10-13

g. The Eternal plan of God i. God has a wonderful unique plan for each of us. This is His will for you!!!!! Do you want it? ii. The entire process of discipleship helps you to follow the Lord and find His plan for your life and then do His will and plan. h. The table of agreement: i. The new agreement and coming into agreement with God and each other in the team. ii. Explain the new agreement with Jesus: 1. The New Testament is the agreement we have signed when we got born again. With all the term an conditions of the agreement. 2. We need study and read the agreement and get into agreement with Jesus more and more each day. 3. This agreement is for His Kingdom, if we want to abide in His kingdom we need to understand how His Kingdom operates. iii. Five fundamentals of the agreement: 1. Hear; Understand, Agree, Believe, Obey 2. We need to come into agreement as a team with the Lord and each other unity. iv. Look at the discipleship team guidelines: 1. Do you agree? 2. This is the table of agreement. i. The discipleship tools: i. The discipler/ team leader:

1. The person who is the trainer. Mentor/coach. Mountain climbing guide. To help you up the mountain building Him a dwelling place. Teaching the ropes. 2. Their role: to train and equip you to do the work of the ministry. What is the work of the ministry? a. Making disciples healing the sick and casting out demons etc just like Jesus taught His disciples to do. b. help disciples - according to the word. c. To complete your eternal plan. d. Note for disciplers: discipleship is not there to control, pressure people but to lead them and assist them to follow Jesus at their own pace. Disciplers are to love the disciples and lay their lives down for their sheep. ii. The discipleship team: 1. The team the Lord places us in is key to our positioning and growth as a disciple of Jesus. 2. Why did He call us into this specific team/ family? a. To place us with a family the team is our family in the Lord. b. To serve and love them. Beware of selfish agendas coming to discipleship for yourself. Being a disciple means we follow Jesus wherever He wants us that includes the discipleship meetings. These are more than just a meeting but family time. c. The team Gods places us in, is an environment, where we learn how to die to self and love others practically. If we cant work in a team then we wont make it as a disciple of Jesus. d. If we run from the challenge of being in a team/ family then we are running from the cross and carrying it. Our main lesson the Lord wants to teach us on earth is to love and walk in humility. The team environment is the precise environment the Lord has prepared for us to grow in humility and love. This is His pattern as He came and started a team when He was on earth with the twelve disciples. Team dynamics is what makes life so challenging and interesting and rewarding. The moment we get selfish we will resist the team and the leader. e. We each have gifts to give the rest of the team. We need the gifts they have for us this is our healing and freedom. f. We each need to pray for each other in the team. g. We also need to learn from the rest of the team. You are here to learn so please listen carefully when someone else speaks as the Lord can teach you through them. You can learn from even the youngest members in the team. Those who tune out/ dont listen when others are sharing their hearts are normally battling with pride and self seeking. If we love the rest of the team then we will show them respect by listening to them when they speak and giving them our undivided attention. This is how the Lord creates unity and harmony in the team. h. We must have patience and love when the leader is dealing with one of the team members that needs help. So stay open to learn and grow in this process and start to pray for them. Someone might say, this is wasting my time. The reason they say that is because the attention is not on them. The root of all our problems is selfishness and the quickest way to cause disunity in any team is by one or more members being selfish.
