Main Body
I. Close encounter of the First kind- Sighting of a new heaven, new Earth and the New Jerusalem. A. The context of Revelation 21:22 is the new Earth and the new Jerusalem. You can see here that there is a synonymous parallelism. Therefore, new heaven, new Earth and the New Jerusalem belongs to the same scene. Further, in Revelation 21:2 John says: "I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem to descend from the sky, from God, prepared as a bride dressed for her husband." B. But in Revelation 21: 9-10 John explains that he was one of the seven angels who had seven cups full of the seven last plagues, and spoke to me, saying, Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb. And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God. C. This helps to see that the chapter is a unit, than what is found in verse 1- 8 is found agai in the texts of the 9-27. The only difference is that verses 9-27 more describe the New Jerusalem and verses 1-8 more describe the new Earth. 1. What are the benefits of the new heaven and new Earth for my? a) It will not have more separation Rev. 21:1 we can return to worship together forever. Imagine John write this with tears. The worship unites us to God. b) Close encounter of the third kind with God. 21 2-3.

c) John narrates how God restores everything to its original state. As a result, of everything that was causing us pain disappeared and everything is made new. Rev. 21:4. Good news. d) The establishment of the kingdom of God on Earth.

2. Would you like to be there? Where there is no hurt, nor crying or suffering? Where there is no darkness because the Lamb light we will illuminate. Do you want to be there? 3. The chapter 21:27 presents one condition. What is? a) But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb s book of life. b) That is why the relationship with God is important. The worship (adoration) unites us to God. D. However, John sees heaven and new Earth and described them. He then describes the New Jerusalem. But when he looks at the New Jerusalem he did not see something. What he does not see? Rev. 21:22. 1. I saw no temple in the city. Due to the details given in the chapter we can infer that John is a retailer. He looks great and gives details.

2. Describe the gates of the city wall, streets, describes the angel who takes the hill for him to see down the New Jerusalem. He does not see the temple. So worship end? He gives the answer. a) 3. For its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb.

John has this conviction. a) God and the lamb is our temple.

II.

Close encounter of the second kind Physical evidence

A. And I saw no temple in the city. 1. The Greek word here translated as Temple is translated as a sanctuary. . This Word can be

a) Temple ( ). Rev., rightly, sanctuary. See on Matt. 4:5. Zechariah was slain between the temple proper and the altar of burnt- to the temple at Jerusalem (cf. Ps. 45:15). Ezekiel uses t hier for pagan sanctuaries, but this distinction is not maintained in Maccabees. Josephus has nas for both the temple itself and the precincts. 2 2. What was the purpose of the sanctuary? Exod. 25:8 a) And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.

b) The sanctuary was a place where God would dwell for him being in the midst of his people. God ensured his glory in the Sanctuary because of sin. c) The sanctuary was the center of worship of the people of God in the Bible. Because the worship unites us to God. d) The sanctuary is a metaphor for the incarnation of Christ the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. In this way John can be said in Revelation 21: 22 that the lamb is our temple. 3. The temple was in Israel in one place. People had to go to where the temple to worship there. Because the worship unites us to God. Although God was everywhere, but the temple was a visible place of God. On the other hand they could only have a close encounter with God to through of faith. a) Then when you remove evil you shouldn't need more Temple. Why? (1) And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them,

and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. b) My dear brothers the reason why there is no crying, pain, death, nor crying, not because we are in the new earth and new Jerusalem. The reason is that God is with us in person. You and I have a close encounter with the Almighty God. c) This experience we need them now have on this earth. The worship on Earth prepares us to new heaven and new earth to have a literal encounter with the Creator. B. So Revelation 21: 22 expresses a reality of the new heaven, new Earth and the new Jerusalem. The presence of God will be everywhere. You should see a synonymous parallelism between the text 21.3 and 21.22. 1. III. Close encounters of the third kind.

Close encounter of the third kind Contact - For its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. Rev. 21:22 A. In Revelation 21: 22 there are two temples. One that John does not sees and one he sees. The temple he saw no might be that John was seeking a structure in the new Jerusalem in the form of temple as he remembered this in ancient Jerusalem. The first time in this passage the word temple appears in the accusative case. The case accusative is The case that normally marks the direct object of a verb.3 The verb is see . And this word is in the indicative mood, which expresses the realities. This means that John saw nothing.
a) Some thought that the city is the temple. No temple. The entire city is now one holy temple of God. See on ch. 1:6 4 2. The text repeats the word Temple. In this occasion the word temple is in the nominative case. 5 So the role of church in the sentence is a name. a) What was this temple or sanctuary that John mentions he saw? 3. Temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. a) The verb is, is in the indicative mood which expresses a reality, God and the lamb is our temple. 1.

C. Good news brother and sister, The Almighty God to dwell with you in a place better. 1. Us with this in mind, we must not lose the sense of worship. In line with this, it is very easy for each of us get caught up with the cares of this life, replacing God's presence in our lives. Therefore, as we try to meet our needs by ourselves, we must remember that the satisfaction of all our needs is God. a) hey shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. 6 2. Aches, pains, difficulties and darkness around you shows that evil exists. On the other hand God has promised to eliminate evil and when it is a reality that there will be no need. Only through experience of worship we can find God Almighty. Eventually he will be our temple. Unless we learn to connect with him now through worship, we cannot stand when he founded his kingdom. 3. Lord Almighty and the Lamb is our temple, this means that he will be our support for all eternity. Conclusion A right relationship with God through worship prepares us new heaven, new Earth and the New Jerusalem. The worship unites us to God. Revelation 21:22 give hope for the Church of all times. God want a close encounter with you and me now. We must ensure that our names are written in the book of life of the lamb. The Lamb, Jesus Christ to illuminate your life. But very soon the Tabernacle of God will be with us, by the God Almighty and the Lamb will be our temple and we will have a close personal encounter with him. If you want this, worship of God, because the worship to unites us to God.
