In the 80's I came to read about bhagavad gita swami prabhupada's "Who Controls Your Mind?". Chris Butler posited an undeniable truth of the power of influence of mass media - television, radio, the print media and, lately, the internet. I may include the learning institutions, then. Undoubtedly, these really does prov ided the sets of controls to our minds. Through these channels we've been heavil y bombarded with suffocatring informations and disinformations on daily basis. S adly, the greater volume of what we had been absorbing are not to our best inter ests. What have we learned? What is the quality of our education? Is it not manifested on the kind of consciousness prevailing in our planet? Our corrupt education i s at an alarming level as to have effected severe distortion on world consciousn ess as evidenced by prejudice, dissent, apathy, greed, vanity and the like. After careful diagnosis we came up with enlightening understanding: Lies masquer ading as truth. Deceit and intrigue throughout the land; not sparing the ones wh o donned the garb of authority. Conspiracies underpinning evil intentions bent o n corruption of our moral, spiritual, psychological and physical well beings, fo r the benefit of the insatiable few. Consumerism beguiling us of materialism, an opiate fix we wanted without end. Monetary institutions enslaving the world wit h debt. Through evil agencies morality has been built and rebuilt at a pace we l ose grip of what's right from wrong, etc. Our education made us dumb as automato ns and our credulity drained us of our liberties. - truly, a messy state of affa irs. The media is teeming with huge volumes of information that can make or break us. It is rife of things used to cater to our lower reptillian and mammalian needs for profit, while others instill fear and guilt for the sheer purpose of control . The gullible will have to come to terms of their perrenial mistakes. Be watchf ul, then, of doomsday prophets depicting a future world of Polar Reversals and i ts dire consequences, Planet x/Nibiru, Doomsday Dec. 21, 2012 , Solar Flares tha t, supposedly, could fry us to a crisp, and the mystico-religious UFO phenomena and their god-astronauts. Let these not distract you from building a better wor ld for humanity. We must be wary, then, of persons, cliques or organizations with philosophical i deas that divide us furthermore. It is not the desirable truth, surely, therefo re, it is not of the best interest of humanity. Within the context of discord, I have doubts that religion has the potential of ever uniting us, much less with epistemology, metaphysics, ethics and politics - we have all these mighty tools for a long long time, but, we have never succeded. Now what have we? The truth is not much of a mind thing, it is partly of the heart. No objective p hilosophy could ever unravel the truth that we ever so dearly seek. Quantum Phys ics, the Superstring Theory or anything possible to evolve from these will stagn ate at the frontiers of the "beyond". In short, reason alone will never get us t here. There has to be a synthesis of the objective and the subjective, of scient ific knowledge and gnosis - this is the ideal paradigm. Do we have the unifying truth? Yes, we have. While the world is lost, this is w here we're going to have a good start, ought to be. This truth is deeply embedde d in each and everyone's soul. This is where the common aspirations of humanity resides, all we have to do is awaken it out of slumber. I advocate for individualized spirituality, "each to his own" sort of stuff, yet , tolerant and appreciative of the other's. A philosophy aware of the idiosyncra

tic soul in each and everyone of us and respect that uniqueness with the knowled ge that we may have diverse realities and spiritual experiences, however, we all add up homogeneously to the greater reality and spirituality of the whole we ca lled humanity; this, likened to the freedom of every single drop of rain heading in independent journeys to populate the oceans. This way, paradoxically, we dif ferentiate to harmoneously integrate. We violate a human by teaching him/her to be different other than being himself/ herself. This must be the root of all anger and hatred in the world. Every man i s well-equipt in his/her spiritual journey and need not be dissuaded by a teache r or a guru to be veered away from what he sought. Find your own truth and enric h this organism called "humanity", it is never complete without it. To unite us, we must find the common ground where each and every human vibrate i n profound synchronicity - where love blosssoms and peace abounds. This is nowhe re else to be found but in the soul and in spirit. A realm where the genius and the dumb, the master and the student, had equal capacities and privilages; where a muslim, a christian, a buddhist or whatever, join hands finding they're no di fferent than the others. Therefore, slacken the shackles of dogma and fanaticism out of your respective philosophies and unite shall we in the common ground. To nurture the spirit of Peace and Unity we would be needing the appropriate me dium possible. It has to be powerful and transcending, the one that easily slips unhampered into dominions, borders, peoples, creeds and the like - it is non ot her than Music - the greatest of all arts, the language of the soul, the languag e of the common ground. It bears upon you, musicians, the noble task of propagating the kind of music th at fosters the peace and unity we so aspire. Get off the grid of hollywood bandw agon and give humanity the education of PEACE, UNITY and HARMONY.
