Advanced entry to dissertation stage

This programme allows you to enter the dissertation stage of the MBA if you hold a suitable postgraduate diploma in Business Management.

if you have a suitable Postgraduate diploma in Business Management, you can apply for direct entry onto the masters level of our MBA. this course is ideal if you are interested in understanding and implementing solutions in a business setting. Youll develop your analytical business skills, combining theory, tools, methods and management techniques. Building on your prior study and work experience this course enables you to achieve a Masters level qualification. this full time course offers the flexibility to fit study around existing commitments. students join the programme at the dissertation stage, and complete a compulsory research Methods workshop and dissertation.

diPLoMA reQuireMents
to join the MBA at an advanced stage it is vital that you have studied the right material in your postgraduate diploma. to ensure that you are academically prepared to meet the demands of the dissertation the university will assess your prior learning. the university has assessed a number of postgraduate diplomas and can allow entry on to the programme with up to 120 Masters level CAt points. Please see entry requirements for details on the Postgraduate diplomas that are accepted for this course.

Jocelyne Fleming BA(Psych) MBA FCIPD PGCEHE Course Leader, Director of Studies, Department of Business Management Jocelyne has led development of Business school Masters degree provision for eight years in a variety of roles. Before joining the university of Gloucestershire, Jocelyne worked in the voluntary and public sector in a variety of management and training and development roles at a senior level. Jocelynes main areas of research interest are: strategy, organisational change, leadership theory and HrM. she is currently the director of studies for MBA and Msc Business and Management and coordinates the supervision of research students in the department.

Course Content
Research Methods the research Methods workshop is designed to introduce you to the skills necessary for this level of academic writing. during the course you will be shown how to complete the dissertation proposal form which must be approved before you begin your research. Workshops are held at our campus in Cheltenham over three or four days. Dissertation You will complete your dissertation with the support of your dissertation adviser and the universitys extensive learning centres and online resources. if you are an international student, study in the uK will be supported by a FuLL-tiMe student visa for up to 5 months. You may take up to 12 months to complete the programme but the remainder would be completed in your home country. Postgraduate study at this level is demanding. A dissertation requires extensive reading of relevant materials and in-depth research. in addition, effective time management is crucial. Meetings with your adviser take place in Cheltenham and they can provide additional support via email or telephone. there is access to online research journals directly from the university of Gloucestershires web pages. this is complemented by print journals and books available at the beautiful Park Campus in Cheltenham.

Bachelors degree with a

minimum GPA of 2.7/4.0. have a minimum of two years management / supervisory experience. strategic Management and Leadership / ABP Postgraduate diploma in Business Administration. than 6.0 in writing.
