“911” 10th Anniversary Runs/Walks
Calling all Firefighters, First Responders, Police, Military
And anyone who has American pride and likes to run!

Dear Friends:

USA Cares along with the Blue Star Mothers of America, will lead a coalition of non-profits in commemorating
the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 by coordinating a series of nationwide shadow runs/walks (5k) on September 10,
2011. These shadow runs will be conducted by local groups who wish to show their solidarity with the 343
Firefighters and other first responders who died in New York on 9/11 and the nearly two million military
personnel who have continued the fight in the Iraq and Afghanistan theaters.

These nationwide shadow runs mirror, and take their inspiration from, the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Run
held annually in New York City in honor of the brave sacrifices of both Firefighter Stephen Siller who ran to the
towers on 9/11/2001 to save lives other than his own, and to the 342 brother firefighters who died with him that
day.
