July 31-Aug 4 Sun.-Thurs. - 6:30-8:00 PM Community Vacation Bible School in the Adamstown Grove for preschool through 5th grade. Spread the word, and invite others. There may still be need for some helpers, registration, snacks, etc., or even just coming out to interact with parents sharing ice cream on Thursday night, see Darrell Gockley. Also, please consider praying for this great opportunity to share God's love and truth in the community closest to church. -Movie Night Dates: Aug. 5 (after VBS in the Grove) and Aug 19. Aug. 6, Sat.-Outdoor Gospel Concert at Woodcrest Retreat. The groups, Breakthrough and Jim & Wendy Althouse will be sharing an evening of gospel music. A freewill offering will benefit the Childrens Summer Camp. Bring lawn chairs. Chicken BBQ meal served from 4-6 p.m. Call 738-2233 to reserve $8 meal tickets. Concert will be held indoors in the event of inclement weather. Font Aug. 7, Sun.- Will be our regular, first-Sunday of the month fellowship meal, also you can sign-up to help serve on the small whiteboard on the refrigerator in the church kitchen. Aug. 17, Wed.- is the time for Sewing Circle Meeting again at Bowmansville Church. Please note that the building is now completely air-conditioned. Our project for August is School Kits, Contents include 4 spiral or perforated notebooks, (about 70-80 sheets). 4 unsharpened pencils (no. 2). 1 flexible plastic 12 in. ruler. 12 colored pencils in packaging, 1 large pencil eraser. Place in drawstring bag if available...can be picked up at Bowmansville or Gehman Church. -To volunteer for Freedom Gate Bible Study and to shop for groceries see David Mohler. Bible Study will be led by Glen M. on Tuesday, Aug. 2 at Freedom Gate. -Youth Group Bible Study will not be held this week due to Bible School. -With MCC, help drought-stricken East Africa -MCC is appealing for donations to support its response to the drought and food crisis in East Africa that has left about 11 million people in need of humanitarian assistance. Please consider a gift to help fund initial efforts in Ethiopia and Kenya to provide supplemental food for at-risk groups, and to support food-for-work projects. To donate, visit mcc.org or contact your nearest MCC office. We encourage you also to pray for people in the region. -Our next coffee house for a cause will be to assemble school kits. While the date has not yet been set, I wanted to give you advance notice in order to take advantage of the back to school sales. Items needed for school kits are: Spiral Notebooks 70-80 pages, Pencils, Erasers, Rulers, 12 count box Colored pencils. A sign up sheet and Coffee House date will be posted in the next couple of weeks. -It is time to make a new song leader/offertory schedule.
