A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE MOVEMENT OF STUDENTS FOR PROGRESSIVE LEADERSHIP IN UP (MOVE UP) FOR THE STUDENT

COUNCIL ALLIANCE OF THE PHILIPPINES (SCAP)

Members of Movement of Student for Progressive Leadership in UP Proponent

WHEREAS, Movement of Students for Progressive Leadership in UP (MOVE UP), a duly recognized political organization in the University of the Philippines Los Banos, stands for its three principles: student empowerment, progressive leadership and social responsibility; WHEREAS, MOVE UP calls for a greater empowerment of students and groups to take the first step to a value-laden social change; WHEREAS, MOVE UP believes in a progressive leadership founded on service, integrity and excellence to keep it pro-active and not short-sighted; WHEREAS, MOVE UP calls out to fulfil social responsibility towards attaining social progress and to continue the legacy of service and to fight for the rights and welfare of the marginalized, oppressed and the powerless; WHEREAS, along with the principle of SCAP stating that SCAP actively commits itself to actively strive for progressive and positive change within the society that exists , MOVE UP believes that change can be attained in this society and that change roots from individuals who respond for the call of their society; WHEREAS, MOVE UP believes that consultation of students and constituents shall always come first in order to assure that every voices will be heard; WHEREAS, along with SCAP, MOVE UP upholds democracy and nationalism committed to informing and urging the students and citizens of the Philippines to participate in various issues that this country faces; WHEREAS, MOVE UP is willing to cooperate and take part in conducting activities and spreading the leadership and service to the students, primarily our beloved Scholars for and of the Nation, and the people of the Philippines though pushing and continuing the advocacies and principles of the Student Council Alliance of the Philippines (SCAP); THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that MOVE UP affirms its membership for the Student Council Alliance of the Philippines (SCAP);

RESOLVED FURTHER, that such membership also confirms its commitment to partake to the activities and conduct projects in line with the principles of SCAP; RESOLVED FINALLY that MOVE UP will actively participate and join meetings and conventions that SCAP may conduct and that MOVE UP will continue encouraging students and people to support projects and advocacies in line with attaining social change.
