ABSTRACT
Linguists have worked on the lexical-cultural reconstruction of Proto-Indo-
European (PIE) for nearly two hundred years. An issue that caused the disagreement
between archaeologists and linguists is to identify the geographical area outside the
homeland of Proto-Indo-Europeans. Indo-European languages amply documented - Hittite,
Greek, Sanskrit - were spoken in military societies where chariot drawn by horses appears
to be the stimulus for the dissemination of European languages.
Keywords: Indo-European, horse, linguistics, myth, reconstruction.
