CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT BLUEPRINT

EXPECTATIONS OF BEHAVIOR State 3-4 expectations you have for behavior. Use these expectations to develop a vision statement of how students will behave. All students will provide one another with an equal opportunity to learn. Students will be actively engaged in learning and take some accountability for their own learning experiences. Students will be expected to achieve and average annual growth of more than one year and all will be expected to pass the EOC exam. List the classroom rules you will establish for your students and describe the process you will use to communicate these rules and enforce them. Classroom Rules: 1. Be positive 2. Be prepared 3. Be on task 4. Be polite 5. Be respectful The rules of the classroom will be permanently posted and referred to on a daily basis. Specifically, on the first day of class, the students will perform an activity in which they interpret the five rules into a graphic organizer to reach the various learning modalities. The students will be asked to summarize the rule by using their personal choice of modality. Secondly, the students will be expected to provide an example of each rules relation to the classrooms Big Goal. The rules will be connected back to the Big Goal on a daily basis. By tying the rules into the Big Goal, the students will work as a community, establishing a culture focused on high achievement. List 2-3 routines you will establish in your classroom and write the step-by-step procedures that accompany each routine. Taking attendance Attendance will be recorded each day while students work on the days warm-up activity. Distributing materials Materials for the day will be prepared by the teacher before class begins. The instructions for the day will be posted near the classroom entry for students to take action at the start of class. Beginning the day Every day, the teacher will greet the students at the door. As the students enter, they will be expected to read the do now activity, which will be prepared before class. Homework When there is an assignment due, the problems from the assignment will be reviewed at the beginning of class. Students will be called upon to add solutions to the board and the teacher will then ask the students to walk through the work. As the assignment is being reviewed, students are expected to be correcting their work and asking questions. After the assignment has been reviewed, students will pass their assignments to

the front of the class where they will be collected and placed into the classs homework folder. Additional procedures involving hallway and bathroom passes will be implemented based on district and school guidelines. Prescribe a logical set of consequences that appropriately progress in severity and maintain the dignity of students. Consequences: 1. Name written on board 2. Circle name on board, move student seat 3. Apology assignment and phone call home 4. Office referral The preceding consequences are specifically focused on classroom misbehavior. Additional consequences for late and missing assignments, tardies, absences and other offenses will be addressed in combination with school and district policy. Identify 3-5 opportunities you will have in your classroom for communicating/modeling your classroom rules, consequences and procedures. The opportunities that I will use to communicate and model my classroom rule are as follows: 1. In the beginning of the year, 2. As issues arise, and 3. After each extended break (i.e. winter break or spring break)
