Uses DNC2012 as a catalyst for launch, but builds enduring infrastructure for a Civic Economy by creating a civic unit of trade, or currency, that gives us the ability to measure, motivate, visualize, catalyze and fund across sectors, needs and eorts. Changes the way foundations and corporations evaluate and fund. Jump starts key eorts in the non-prot community, and leads to increased volunteerism through the spirit of competition. Provides a way to measure and celebrate engagement across ALL sectors and eorts in the community. Supports Charlottes identity/brand as an emerging energy center, but gives this brand identity added dimension and impact.

We set ambitious goals as a community for: Volunteer hours given Resources, $ raised for eorts around key needs Progress on a few focused programs or eorts Area non-prots report volunteer hours, support received and project/needs status to a central PeopleWatts Director
PeopleWatts Might Work Like This Individuals and organizations connect with opportunities for action, record their volunteer acts and share their stories of impact on the PeopleWatts website. PeopleWatts are reported every week via traditional and social media. Progress towards goals are visually depicted on the Duke Energy building and on the website.
