Hi! I'm glad to see you on our little corner of the web. We are a small home breeder in India (Mumbai), raising Chihuahuas with lots of love and compassion. Our dogs and puppies are well socialized in our home with our family. Now finally migrated to the internet. I have a houseful of these delightful little dogs and they are all dearly loved. They are probably just a bit too spoiled. I am located in Mumbai and I have been breeding for last 20 years breeds like Doberman, German Shepherd ,Cocker spaniel and since I got my first Chihuahua I have been in love with this breed & will continue to breed this breed, This is a special breed and very dear to me. I hope our website will give you a chance to see some of the joys of this wonderful breed and perhaps even consider adding one to your family some day. We breed for personality, conformation, and intelligence. Our dogs are part of our family and we don't breed them every time, with only a limited amount of litters for each girl. We do not always have puppies, we believe in quality not quantity. We usually have a few exceptional litters. Our dogs live in our house and not in a kennel. Our puppies are raised under care and highly socialized to become loving and loyal family members. They have beautiful heads, large expressive eyes, and unbeatable personalities, they have the whole package. Very intelligent, our puppies are easily trained & companion dog, Chihuahuas are one of the few breeds where there is no wrong color or markings, they come in all colors. I volunteer with many organizations and take part in rescue animals when needed. I have bred for over twenty years and I know the bloodlines and history of my dogs, making it easier to predict the future health, size, and temperament of my puppies, cutting down on chances of health problems or congenital defects. My puppies leave with health guarantees, up to date on their vaccinations, de-worming, vet checked, registered, and started on litter box training. My Chihuahua puppies have smooth coat, apple head and are within the breed standard of 1-3Kg.As adults. (Although the adult weight can be more or less depending on diet and exercise) My chi's are raised as part of our family and well socialized. Puppies are always well on their way to being paper-trained when they go to their new homes. I have joint family who all participate in raising and loving these wonderful little dogs. The Chihuahua tendency to shiver or tremble is not a health issue but takes place when the dog is excited or stressed. One explanation is the toy dogs have a higher

metabolism and so dissipate body heat faster than larger dogs. Shivering helps to generate body heat thats why people shiver when there is cold climate. However, rapid dissipation of body heat is a distinct disadvantage in cool or cold climates, so Chihuahua does not tolerate cold climates and must be protected when taken outside.. The Chihuahuas loyalty and affinity for being close to his master or mistress makes him an amiable companion, and his size makes him a convenient. Chihuahuas have been known to ride about inside a pocket, in a purse, or tucked firmly under the arm of their owners. You will have to trim your puppies nails every couple weeks. I use regular nail clippers for my Chihuahuas. Try to make this a fun and positive experience. If you have ever had to wrestle with a dog to cut their nails, you understand how frustrating this can be. When you trim the nails, you need to make sure not to cut into the quick of the nail. Cut evenly with the pad of the paw. If you do cause some bleeding, you can use a powder to stop the bleeding. If this is not available, you can apply pressure for a couple minuets. Chihuahuas have a distinct liking for others of their own breed and an equally distinct dislike for dogs of other breeds. Therefore, if you want more than one dog, make the additional dog Chihuahua. And if you already have a dog of another breed, think carefully before getting a Chihuahua. Chihuahuas should not be allowed to jump off from high furniture or out of your arms, as the impact on landing could fracture a leg. Children should not be allowed to carry a Chihuahua to play roughly. Keep in mind that there is no such thing as "tea cup", "mini" or "toy" Chihuahuas. These are terms used to sell very small puppy in litters or this term is sometimes used to boost the sale of breeders pups. There are only 2 types of Chihuahuas, either long or short coat. The breed standard is 1-3 Kg. as adults. I truly believe that they are all unique and deserve the best of care. Anyone interested in buying a pup will be welcome in my home to meet my entire Chihuahuas. Raising Chihuahua's is a passion for my family. All of my dogs are veterinary monitored and given the best of care. It is very important to me that you get a healthy baby. Chihuahua is equally comfortable living in small apartment with one person or in large home with several family members, highly adaptable and forever loyal. With its big eyes, big ears, and bigger-than-attitude, the Chihuahua is the epitome of cocky canine in a petite package. In other words, this pint-sized pet is master of his

universe and fears nothing, characteristics that make him a most suitable pet for some people and the worst possible choice for others. My dream is to continuing the popularity of this breed & I feel this wonderful breed needs to protect at all costs. I am still working on my webpage, please be patient with us and have a look around and enjoy you.

General information
Caring for a Chihuahua Chihuahuas are omnivores. If they have a choice they will likely choose to eat natural foods like raw meat and vegetables over sweets like candy and ice cream unlike some breeds. Living with a Chihuahua Chihuahuas are very intelligence, spirited dogs. They have a good sense of reasoning skills as compared to other breeds. Chihuahuas are generally happy dogs except when they are sick or separated from their favorite companion, you. Chihuahuas are very social with other Chihuahuas as well. Two or more males will get along very well together, provided there is not a female in heat around at the time. Females also get along very well together. They will establish a natural dominance hierarchy or pecking order but then will bond and demonstrate a great love and affection for each other. Chihuahuas are considered average shedders. Chihuahuas are considered very intelligent dogs and thus take to training very quickly. With proper, positive reinforcement, Chihuahuas will learn new commands rather quickly. Chihuahuas make great watch dogs. They are known for only barking when something is not right. If your Chihuahua is barking chances are it is something worth investigating.

Chihuahuas are less affected by adverse weather conditions than other small breeds. Chihuahuas are definitely sun-worshippers and love to lie in the sun for hours on end. Even when kept indoors Chihuahuas will likely be found sound asleep in the warmth of the sunlight. Their adaptability to extreme weather conditions should come as no surprise given their history as dessert dwellers. Despite this fact they are very loyal dogs and will do whichever activities we ask them to so it is very important to take precaution and use your best judgment in these types of conditions. Chihuahua Appearance Chihuahuas are described as compact, graceful, alert, swift-moving dogs with a generally saucy expression. Chihuahuas should be between 6 to 9 inches tall and weigh between 2-6 pounds when they are fully grown. Chihuahuas are very loyal companions. They may show a tendency toward aggression when in their owners arms. It can seem sweet and cute at first to see them protect you, but this behavior should be strongly discouraged. After all you don't want to raise a mean or aggressive dog. This stems from the fact that Chihuahuas regard their owners as the center of their universe. This is one of the most notable characteristics of the Chihuahua. They actually prefer human company over that of other dogs. Most dogs when called, will continue to play, but a Chihuahua will stop whatever he is doing and run to you. Chihuahuas love to be cuddled above all else. Chihuahuas will actually employ tricks to get their owner's attention when they want to be held. If you are too busy at the time to notice these clever tricks the Chihuahua will patiently wait until you have finished and take notice of them. Chihuahuas are very dedicated dogs. Chihuahuas are well-known for their oversized, apple-shaped heads containing a molera, or opening in the top of the skull, much like that of a human infant. The eyes of a Chihuahua are their most prominent facial feature. They have large luminous eyes. Their large eyes tend to tear more that breeds with smaller eyes. This is a mechanism for keeping their eyes clean and clear of debris. The eyes of a Chihuahua should be very dark except in light colored Chihuahuas where their eyes tend to be ruby colored and glow red in the dark. Chihuahuas are also well-known for their large, flaring ears, a characteristic that makes them easy to recognize. Chihuahuas have what is termed a scissor bite. This is where the top front teeth barely overlap the bottom front teeth and the bottom canine teeth fit neatly into the slight indentation just in front of the top canines. A distinguishing characteristic of the Chihuahua is that they may have one or more missing teeth and have a tendency to lose their premolars at a very young age. Their week dentition and small proportioned mouth may be attributable to their history of living on vegetation and other small prey.

Chihuahuas should have a medium length slightly arched neck. Chihuahuas should have a marked forechest without any sigh of a protruding sternum which may be a sign of serious abnormalities. The front legs of a Chihuahua should be completely under the body so the shoulders block any view of their chest from the side. It is very important for a Chihuahua to have good shoulders in order to run, jump and change directions instantly when playing or chasing prey. The ribs of the Chihuahua should be well sprung to accommodate their well-developed heart and lungs. The rib cage needs to be long enough to protect all of their internal organs. Just behind the 7th or 8th rib their underline should raise slightly toward the back legs. Their body should be slightly longer than it is tall with a strong level back. Chihuahuas should have strong, muscular hindquarters with well-defined tendons. If these tendons are too thin or the groove in the back legs where the tendon is supposed to fit is too shallow then the tendon may slip out of place and cause lameness. You should strongly discourage your Chihuahua from jumping up and down on there hind legs as this could cause injury to their knees, especially while they are young. Walking and jumping on their back legs is a very common trait in Chihuahuas. This is their attempt to get closer to their devoted companion because Chihuahuas love to give. The feet of a Chihuahua should be small and dainty with slightly spread toes, instead of the long thin toes seen in their history. This trait had been bred into the Chihuahua over the years because it was thought that the 'cat-like' foot found in other breeds looked more appealing. The tail of a Chihuahua is just a continuation of their spine and thus should be carried high and curled over their back. It should never be lower than the topline of their back. The posture of a Chihuahua's tail gives a strong indication of the structure and health of their spine. The Chihuahua is accepted in any color or color combination. Black with tan markings is the most common color combination. There are two distinct coats for the Chihuahua. Chihuahuas can be classified as either a short coat or long coat Chihuahua. Short-coated Chihuahuas have a short, smooth coat. While long coat Chihuahuas have a coat consisting of long, possibly wavy fur. Chihuahua Facts Southern, AKC Toy Chihuahuas have an average life expectancy of around 15 years. Chihuahuas are known to be extremely loyal and devoted dogs. They usually will favor one owner above all others and make that person their sole mate. They love human companionship and will generally seek it out. Chihuahuas are known to have a high feeling of self-importance. They can usually be seen strutting purposefully

around the house. Chihuahuas have a tendency to shiver from fear or excitement. If they show signs of unwarranted fear it is best to reassure them that they are okay without praise as to not enforce their unneeded fear. If they are actually presented with a real form of danger then they should be picked up or otherwise removed from harms way while maintaining a casual tone so that their fear is not strengthened. While they may show signs of unwarranted fear there are other times when they should be fearful but are not. It is not unlikely for a Chihuahua to take a dive off a high piece of furniture without a moments thought to the consequences. They are also known to not be intimidated by larger dogs when maybe they should be. It is important to make sure to never place your little Chihuahua on a high piece of furniture and leave them unattended when they are young. Once they have they ability to jump safely on and off the furniture by themselves then they should be fine. Also they should be closely supervised when around other unknown dogs especially larger ones. Chihuahuas love to sleep under blankets or pillows. It is not uncommon to see them burry themselves underneath a blanket all on their own. Chihuahuas make great pets for all types of people. They want nothing more that to be with you and to please you above all else. They are very perceptive of peoples' moods. If you are sitting down relaxing they love to lay quietly in your lap with you. If you are up and moving around they will watch every move you make most likely being right behind you every step of the way. Chihuahua Health The Chihuahua is a very hardy dog as compared to other breeds. They are prone to some of the other aliments that plague other small breeds including cleft palates, hypoglycemia, hemophilia A, secondary glaucoma, heart-valve problems, lung conditions and hydrocephalous. Before purchasing your Chihuahua you should discuss these and other health risks with your breeder to see if there may be an increased risk of these in your Chihuahua.

Training Tips

TRAINING TIPS

The main reason for this website is to help educate the general public BEFORE they spoil a puppy the wrong way. The tips on this page will help you Understanding your dog and knowing how to control him,

develop his potentials, and resolve behavior problems, reduce frustrations & develop healthy happy lifetime relation.

Both male and female dogs are wonderful pets. It really depends on what kind of personality you prefer. Remember, too, that each individual dog is different. There are very affectionate female dogs and very serious, mature male dogs. You should get to know a dog as much as possible to make a good choice of which gender -- and which dog -is right for you. Now that you have a new puppy in the house, it's time to start working on their house training. There are so many opinions and techniques out there, so how do you decide what is right for you and your family? I would like to share some things that I have learned from others and through trial and error.....Emphasis on the error. Train your dog from day one, so she will think of you as the leader of the pack. Dogs instinctively want to earn the pack leader's approval. Give your new puppy its own sleeping den, even a simple cardboard box will do; this will make her feel more secure. As soon as youre new pet is comfortable with its new home, move it to the location where you will want it to sleep for its lifetime. Your dog will need a good name. Your breeder may have suggestion or even requirements for his kennel club registered name, but his call or informal name is up to you. Older adopted dogs can adjust quickly to a new name. A puppy requires discipline, consistency, and patience of its owner. To avoid a domestic fiasco, owners should take time to train their puppies and take steps to make their home safe for each family member, from animals to children. The puppy training phase is integral in raising a healthy and happy dog and keeping a safe and fun home environment. Puppies need consistency from their owners more than anything else. A stable diet and clear guidance of expectations will help the puppy learn what it is supposed to do and where to do it. Knowing exactly what your puppy wants is a difficult, if not impossible, aspect of training. Housebreaking a puppy is just like toilet training a child; first you learn to recognize the signs, then you react every time you see them.

An integral puppy training issue is house training. As there is no one right or wrong way, various methods of housetraining will work. The key is to be consistent. With regularly enforced rules, litter box, crate, or paper training can be successful. Also make sure all members of the household enforce the rules whenever possible. Accidents happen, so have a procedure for clean-up Puppies can't control their bladders overnight until they are at least four months old. Until then, cover the floor around the puppy's bed with newspapers. Always say your dog's names before you give a command. NEVER punish a puppy for chewing..... Just be sure to provide the appropriate objects. Puppies need to chew to stimulate the loss of their baby teeth and to help place their permanent teeth. Another tip that will facilitate easier puppy training is to give the dog toys that are similar to household items he or she likes to chew. If the puppy is keen on shoes, purchasing a rubber toy similar to a shoe sole might be helpful. Never designate old shoes as fair game for a shoechomping puppy, as the puppy will not know the difference between appropriate and inappropriate shoes on which to snack, and may break off and choke on a piece of the shoe. I start the puppies with their paper training very early, so when they go home with you, they already know what to do, and you just have to keep up the encouragement. It is true that small breed dogs can take longer to train, but with consistent and loving training, your puppy will get the idea. This applies to paper training or outside training. Never allow your puppy free range of the house until they are trained. If you are out of sight from them, they are too far away and need to be in a pen or somewhere with paper so they don't make accidents. The scent of urine and feces is very strong and will draw them back, especially to carpets and wood. Puppies need to "go" after sleeping, eating, playing and every couple hours. Don't expect them to hold it just yet. The usual expectation is that if they are 4 months old, they might be able to hold it for 4 hours, 7 months old might be able to hold it for 7 hrs. You get the idea. Remove food and water at night. Keep in mind that if you drink before bed, you are up at night right?

Never spank or strike your dog. This teaches fear and shame. Accidents happen and when they do, keep calm and redirect your puppy to the right spot to go. When your puppy goes in the right place, Praise, Praise, Praise!! Nothing is more encouraging than a "potty party". Small puppy treats are a great Use commands only when you are ready and willing to enforce them. Never wake a sleeping dog by poking or shaking it. If your dog reacts anti-socially toward visitors, put her in another room until she calms down. When you let her out, ignore her. This forces your dog to go to the visitors for social activity. People are not born polite, honest, caring and well-behaved. Parents teach children. We can all see the results of children who have not had adequate parenting. Dogs are not much different but so long as you keep them under control, give them their exercise, feed them, pat them; you will find their wild emotions are amusing, and their characters interesting. Remember that a dog cannot ask questions; neither can it understand all you say. It knows only the words, the commands and the names you teach it. Be decisive, firm, and most of all, be sure that you know exactly what you want and how it should be done. Dog owners have a responsibility to make sure that their dogs Exercise together with your dog every day. That includes both mental and physical exercise. A minimum of 15 minutes walking away from the property, everyday. A minimum of 15 minutes of active play, everyday. It is another opportunity to learn cooperation with you. Yes, the first and last lines are supposed to be the same. Without patience and consistency nothing else matters. Dog owners have a responsibility to make sure that their dogs are well behaved members of our society. Without proper training, many dogs are likely to misbehave. And when owners allow their dogs to misbehave, everyone suffers: The owner, because he or she lives with a dog, the dog, because everyone's down

on him for misbehaving; the dog's owner's neighbors, because living next to a difficult dog is no one's idea of fun; and ultimately every dog owner, because each incidence where a dog creates a nuisance increases anti-dog sentiment, and contributes to the likelihood that tough legal restrictions will be placed on all dogs.

Each breed has its own characteristics. If you match these with your personality and lifestyle, it is much more likely that you will have a happy and fulfilling relationship with your dog. Basic is one of the most important training there is not just for your dog, but for you. This will help give effective communication between you and your dog and let him know who the boss is and what he has to do. Training your dog isnt just to teach him dog tricks and potty training; it helps moderate your dog so you can live in harmony. To get a handle on aggression people need to understand that dogs are pack animals. Their very nature demands a pack order and if one is not set up for them, they will take it upon themselves to develop their own pack order by which they live. If they do not look at the owner as the pack leader they will take it upon themselves to become the pack leader. This is why many dogs will accept commands from the man in the house but not the wife - or other family members. It all comes down to how the dog views a person according to pack order. People own dogs for companions, a properly handled and trained dog of any breed can become a great companion. Dogs in pack in nature do a lot of walking. If you do not duplicate that, your dog can become frustrate & exhibit behavior problems. "Maybe you've been looking for love in all the wrong places. A dog will treat you better than anyone you'll meet at happy hour. Trust me. I've been to happy hour."
