BEHOLD I WILL DO A NEW THING THE WORD OF A KINGSolomon the wise said: 'The thing that hath been,

it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? It hath been already of old time, which was before us.' Ecclesiastes 1:9-10 But THE WORD OF THE KING OF KINGS says: 'Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, 1 will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?' Isaiah 43:18-19 IT IS undeniably true that mankind is incapable of achieving or creating anything new on earth. Certainly man is constantly trying to present life in new ways, altering the wrapping papers or the names on the labels of things: but underneath it all the essential qualities of human existence remain the same. For instance, Cain the first child of man, murdered without cause his fellow man Abel, and today the children of men have still not reversed the 'trend' While it is impossible for man to do or find anything really new, '...with God nothing shall be impossible' (Luke ch.1 v.37), so we find God promising that He 'will do a new thing'. We should not find this surprising because God is by nature the creator, consequently He must always be doing new things. We live in an age when men find it hard to believe that God does anything at all, let alone that He will do anything startlingly new. Nothing changes with men and they always have been the most unbelieving, impatient and ignorant of beings. At the time of Jesus Christ's first Advent, men would not believe that God would do something new. The Old Testament prophecies made it crystal clear, first that God would come to His people at Bethlehem in Judah, and second regarding the time of his arrival. Till today, his birth is still being expected. the wise men seemed wise? The foolish ones sent their gifts thru them. God wants the hearts of men and nt their gifts. With man nothing changes, and now they are busy ignoring or disbelieving His second coming.'... Regardless of the perception of men, our faith are founded on change, on new beginnings. Remember Abraham? God came to him and said, Leave your country, your people, your fathers household, and go to a land that I will show you. (Gen.12:1) Moses got his start when God spoke to him out of that burning bush, saying, Go! Im sending you to Pharaoh. You will bring the Israelites out of Egypt. (Ex.3:11) God went to Jonah and said, Go to that great city of Nineveh and preach there! (Jonah 1:2) Jesus called his first disciples, saying, Leave your boats and your nets and come follow me! (Mark 1:17) Friends, change is important! The Christian life, the life of faith starts with leaving what is familiar, what is comfortable and going somewhere new, somewhere weve never been! Being a follower of Christ means not only being open to change, but also actually being excited about it! In Matthew 9:16-17, Jesus used the metaphor of wine and wineskins to help us understand change the way God understands it. Jesus is in the business of change, of new beginnings, and of new wine. He made that clear when his very first public miracle at the wedding in Cana involved changing water into wine. But Jesus doesnt do all the work of change for us; He asks us to provide the vessels, the wine skins. Christ asks us to be vessels that are flexible enough and soft enough to receive, embrace, and taste his new wine, the wine of change. Jesus asks even requires that our hearts, our minds, our spirits be in a constant state of openness, always receptive to the next thing that Hes about to do.

We Have A New Covenant God entered into a covenant with His people at Mt. Sinai, which is commonly referred as the Law of Moses. But the Israelites did not obey that covenant and constantly broke it (Jeremiah 11:7-10). For this reason He allowed them to be taken away by their enemies (Jeremiah 11:11-14). Even so, He did not leave them without some hope, for through the prophet Jeremiah He made a promise. God promised a new covenant to His people (Jeremiah 31:31-34). Hebrews tells us that Christ stablished this new and better covenant or testament (Hebrews 8:6-13; 12:24). How is the new covenant better? First, because it is inward and spiritual. Second, it provides a direct relationship to God. Third, the new covenant provides complete forgiveness of sin. We Have A New Commandment Jesus brought not just a new covenant, but a new law. John 13:34-35 says, A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. We Have A New Name God through the prophet Isaiah promised his people a new name (Isaiah 62:1-5). Gods people had been so rebellious and wicked that Jerusalems name was, so to speak, Mud. The city was named Forsaken and the land was called Desolate. But God promised a new name for the city and the land: The Lord delighteth in thee and Married. That new name is the name of Christian. Acts 11:26 says, And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. This is the name of Christ. This name was given by God as indicated by the verb called which shows divine action. In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare wrote, What's in a name? In 1911, Hubert Humphrey answered him: In real life, unlike in Shakespeare, the sweetness of the rose depends upon the name it bears. Th big question iswhat name do you bear. Forsakn, dejectd, rejected, failure, sinner whateverthe Lord is promising you a new name. The scriptures tell us a good name is worth more than great

riches and better than precious ointment (Proverbs 22:1; Ecclesiastes 7:1). What better name could there be than the name of Christ (Acts 4:12; Isaiah 62:12)? We Have A New Life Paul said, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). He spoke from experience as his life moved from being a persecutor of the church to its greatest promoter and defender. How can you have this new life? They can have it by entering into the New Covenant. Our rotten curropt old thoughts, pleasures and actions give way to God and His holiness. Paul speaks of this dramatic change in Ephesians 4:22-24 and Colossians 3:8-10. I now have a new outlook on life, people and circumstances (Galatians 6:14-15; Philippians 4:12-13). A new song Some of you may have suffered disappointments in this year. You may have missed the mark as a Christian. I want you to understand that God creates new blessings so we can forget the pain of the past. God says: Isa 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind . Hannah was barren for many years and suffered mockery and taunting at the hand of Penninah but one day God created something new a new born baby called Samuel. She forgot the shame of the past and broke into singing and worshipping. Joseph was appointed second in command in Egypt, was reconciled with his family and forgot the years he was separated from his father Jacob. By forgiving his brothers, he liberated then from their murderous guilt. God took the children of Israel There is a thesis popurly referred to by educationist Theory of Tabula Rasa. Tabula rasa (Latin: scraped tablet or clean slate) refers to the theory that individual human beings are born with no innate or built-in mental content, in a word, "blank", and that their entire resource of knowledge is built up gradually from their experiences and sensory perceptions of the outside world. It generally means, a new beginning. Its a clean slate. Many of us have our slates littered with dirty pains and pictures of the past. What picture has life painted you? But the great news is that, God iw siping them all awayand He is giving you a new slate..a new beginning. a change for good! Isnt that great news! We Have A New Heavens And A New Earth God promises us the best is yet to come: a new heavens and a new earth. God promised through his prophet Isaiah a new place to live forever, a place filled with gladness and rejoicing (Isaiah 65:17-18).where thre is no damage, decay and deterioration. No sin or wickedness will enter into and dwell in the new home God has prepared for His people. But th question isHave you made yourself ready for the new heavens and the new earth? You must first enter into the new covenant by accepting CHRIST into your life.
