Transitioning to the Esthetic-based Practice

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This all day seminar will begin with a review of all the adhesive systems and their indications. This will include total etch and self-etch techniques for direct anterior and posterior composite restorations. There will also be a discussion on the latest in laboratory preparations which will entail materials, preparation design and their indications. Cementation for each type of ceramic system will be covered. The afternoon portion of this lecture will include the most current, effective way to attract patients to your office. Dr. Poss will cover website development and how to optimize your website with social media and other methods to have a continual stream of new patients. From this all day seminar the clinician will be able to impact their practice immediately.

Dr. Steven D. Poss

Dr. Poss graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1983. He has directed numerous live patient continuums at various teaching institutions emphasizing anterior and posterior esthetic dentistry since 1995. Dr. Poss is currently active in instructing at The Center for Exceptional Practices in Cleveland, Ohio. He is also on the editorial team of the REALITY publishing. Dr. Poss lectures internationally on esthetic dentistry and TMD. He is an active consultant to several dental manufacturers in the area of new product development and renement. He has had numerous articles published in most of the leading dental journals. Marie George, RDH, MS Marie George currently serves as the Curriculum Coordinator and Clinical Educator in the MidAtlantic region for DENTSPLY Professional. She joined DENTSPLY in 2004 as the Clinical Education Manager for the Pharmaceutical division and transitioned to Clinical Education Manager for the Professional division with the 2006 merger. Marie has over 25 years of clinical experience, including general, periodontic, and hospital based practice. Prior to joining DENTSPLY, she held several appointments at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, including Assistant Professor of Dental Hygiene, Clinical Research Coordinator for the Department of Periodontics, and CE lecturer for the Department of Continuing Education. Currently, she maintains adjunct faculty status with the Department of Dental Hygiene. Marie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from West Liberty State College 1983 and a Master of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from West Virginia University in 1995.

Dentin hypersensitivity is an enigma that is affecting our population in greater numbers and at younger ages. This course reviews the theories of dentin hypersensitivity, its causes and its contributing factors. Emphasis is placed on patient assessment, planning for treatment and prevention, the development of individualized combination therapies and evaluating clinical outcomes. Timothy M. Bizga, DDS Timothy M. Bizga, DDS, is a general dentist practicing in Cleveland, OH. The practice focuses on comprehensive care, with Dr. Bizgas special interests in cosmetic dentistry, implants and facial esthetics. He graduated from Saint Louis University with a BA in Biology, before receiving his DDS from the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry, at which time he was the recipient of the Francis B. Vedder award for excellence in prosthodontics. He is currently a member of the ADA, AGD and AACD. He is a graduating member of the Whitecap Institute, where he received advanced implant training. He is also a graduating member of the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics, where he received certification in administering Botox and Dermal Fillers for facial enhancement. Dr. Bizga is actively involved in CE and lecturing, clinical consulting for The Dental Advisor, as well as giving back to the community through Healing the Children and dental missions around the world. Most recently he was named a winner of the Aquasil Ultra impression contest Quest for the Best, taking first place in the removable prosthetics category.

COURSE DESCRIPTION This dental assisting continuing education course is designed to teach dental assistants and E.F.D.As the skills necessary to better support their dentists in the everyday routines associated with a general dental practice. A lecture based program, coupled with some hands on learning is the basis of this class. Her knowledge in all facets of dentistry, people skills, and communication is reflected in her ability to teach and train. Her lectures are focused on helping practices establish systems that balance serving patients, profitability and enjoyment of profession. She is well known for her expertise in the business, financial management, motivational and team building systems of the practice. Cindy is an active member of The Academy of Dental Management Consultants the National Speakers Association and is a management consultant working with Jameson Management.
