1 FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION Second Freedom Struggle of Independence India has become a morally and culturally corrupt nation.

From the ordinary cops, to the CM or the PM we nurture corruption, nepotism and filth in our close proximity without batting an eyelid. Be it moral depravity, social callousness, or human brutality, nothing shocks us. We have accepted the juggad as the way of life. If there is something in it for me anything goes. As nearly every local municipal leaders, nearly every MLAs, MPs, Ministers and nearly all Government Officials of State and Central Government along with large industrialists have perfected the art of avoiding the money to land into treasury or government income account by all sorts of revenue and taxes, they all have perfected the art of converting government earnings into black money. They also have perfected the art of snatching income of farmers, labourers, workmen, employees and servants and converting the same into black money. Since most of the senior political leaders across the party lines, MPs, MLAs and all major & famous industrialists are holding most of the black money outside India, it is but natural that they are showing serious concerns on Govt. of India avoiding declaring the details and avoiding bringing the black money inside India. We the people of India need to be liberated from our age-old subject mentality that ever makes us demand more and more rights and privileges for ourselves even at the cost of greater social and national interests. Every nation is a work in progress, but India is more so because our independence was a job half finished. In 1947, we gained freedom from the British -- but not from oppression. As the country heaved a long sigh of relief at gaining political independence, a new set of brown sahibs took over from the white ones. The great hope of this new democracy was that it would lead to a government that would serve us -- but we found ourselves with one that continued to rule us, with laws either directly retained from the British, or even more oppressive than those that existed before. We were colonized by our own people, and eventually enslaved by ways of thinking that saw a mai-baap government as the solution to all our problems -- even when it was often the source of them. Political power was transferred from the British Government to the Indian Government. But it is still stuck at the Government level. Power to decide on their destiny and ability to participate actively in the mission of nation-building still remain mere mirages for the citizens of India. Whichever political regime has been at the helm of affairs of the country have created well oiled alliances with Big Business for awarding Licenses/ Contracts. They've constantly scuttled attempts at enacting a strong anti-graft law. They thought that they've worked out a successful election magic formula. More or less all the parties have absorbed the attitude of the British .i.e.: that they're RULERS instead of PUBLIC SERVANTS as is the case in a democracy. We are tolerant because we are habituated to live on crumbs and proud of it - never caring to ask if we deserve the rewards that someone else worked for. We, our people, our institutions, are like street dogs - can be easily swayed from our goals by the scent of some easy crumbs that is put in our way.

2 Today's Indians are better educated, a large percentage today's Indians are young. Today's Indians believe that they deserve a better India. Hence a revolution is sweeping the country, to root out the corrupt political parties into political oblivion. And like so many other revolutions around the world, this one too is fuelled by the youth. With an education and young population, this would prove to be the biggest revolution of them all. There is no Mahatma Gandhi to lead this second freedom struggle, and most Indians, complacent with how things are, would not even think it is required. But if it was to take place, what would its aims be? What would it fight to change? The goal of that first freedom struggle was to free ourselves of a colonial power; the aim of this notional second freedom struggle is to drastically reform the system that denies us freedom in so many areas of our lives. The Second Freedom Struggle aims at transferring political power from the Government to the citizens of Independent India. The Panchayati Raj-Nagarapalika Act, the Right to Information Act, and the Right to Education Act passed by the Parliament of Independent India can provide a strong Constitutional support for this historic task. A Panchayati Raj democracy in harmony with the vision of the Purna Swaraj cherished by Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India is a historical imperative if India is to be developed as a true Sovereign Socialist Secular Democratic Republic based on Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity as envisioned in the Preamble of the Indian Constitution. A Moral Corrective Force beyond power and party politics but with clear vision and action plan for nation-building was the third power envisaged by Mahatma Gandhi, Acharya Vinoba Bhave, Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan and other great leaders of India. Such a third power alone can give direction and guidance to political parties and Governments in the mission of building a great new India of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. This Moral Corrective Force should have the eternal values of satya, ahimsa, tyaga and seva that ever inspired the Indian mind as its pillars. We will have to be awakened and empowered to become responsible citizens capable of making our valuable contribution towards building a great new India of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. This can be achieved only through Panchayati Raj democracy and Enlightened National Politics with focus on the Fundamental Duties. Yes, we Indians are sick and tired of the rampant corruption that is eating away at us like a cancer. The successive corrupt governments are exposed now, with scam after scam hitting the headlines with shocking regularity. While the BJP does not demonstrate a strong will to weeding out corruption, Congress and their allies continue to loot the country. The DMK and Mayawati's BSP are possibly the most corrupt thieving parties in our country but both the Congress and the BJP are so desperate to cling to power that they will bow and scrape with thugs and thieves to stay in power. It is thanks to the Supreme Court, the media and an outraged civil society that the scamsters are being arrested. Else, they would be scot free and continuing to plunder and loot. It is time India wake up to this dangerous threat, assault on country, its culture and if we let go now, India will become a Banana Republic, a termed which is already being used for our nation by other countries in the scale of corruption levels. Terrorist attacks are daily happenings in many of our commercial cities.

3 Unaccounted money and illegal Hawala channels fund terrorists. Let us put an end to the corruption that sustains Hawala and choke the terrorists financially. We should march for our right to a corruption free society that provides equal opportunities to all. We should speak so that others may understand the cause we are fighting for. We should sweat so that our efforts now may benefit our people in the time to come. Until we re-write the constitution keeping in mind our national culture and democratic values (which everyone only pays lip service), any laws to curb corruption and bring about transparency will not take the desired affect because as per our laws there are still enough loop holes that exist since centuries. Our Constitution has been written with outdated laws copied into it. These outdated laws were used by the Britishers to rule over us and to curb the freedom of expression and democracy. The same laws were copied into our Constitution and although we got independence, we never actually got freedom from the out-dated laws made for rulers and not for democratic governance. From the Britishers the Power got transferred to Political Positions to rule. And thats where our problem begins. We are a nation colonized by the religion of government, and we display a lazy reverence for it. We look for specific quick fixes to problems, instead of recognizing that many of them emanate from structural issues with our system of government -- and from how we think about it. India badly needs the second most important freedom struggle against corruption, our children should live in a corrupt free environment, free corrupt India, and we all can make it. We can never allow this to be a part of our culture nor should we accept corrupt practices. Time has come wake up India, only this can bring India on top of the world LET US INTENSIFY OUR FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION. There is a direct connect between Corruption, governance and terrorism. Let us rededicate ourselves to the cause.
